Weather Reporter Receives Hate Mail Over Her Maternity ClothesBashers call her "gross" for gaining pregnancy weight
Kristi Gordon is a weather reporter from Global BC News in Canada. She's pregnant with her second baby.
During her first pregnancy, she received a lot of bashing from people criticizing her pregnancy outfits. So she made a request that viewers be nice to her this time around.
But instead, Gordon said she received even more hate.
So she read some of the hate letters she received on air.
“Buy some decent clothes and have some respect for your unborn child,” said one.
“Nowhere on North America TV have we seen a weather reader so gross as you,” it said. “Your front end looks like the Hindenburg and your rear end looks like a brick [censored] house… We now turn off Global," said a letter from an anonymous sender calling themselves "The Group".
Now, pregnant women are rallying together tweeting pictures of their own belly bumps to combat the haters and stand behind Gordon.

After all the love and support flooded in, Gordon wrote a message thanking all supporters... and also all the haters.
"For those of you emailing to say I look great and to keep my head up — THANK YOU!"
"Being in this industry, negative comments are just part of the gig. You have to shrug it off and move on; otherwise you’ll never survive," she adds.
She concludes by saying,
"No matter how rational or confident you are, the mean things people say can have an impact. The negative thoughts seep in when you don’t even realize it. Even a little joking comment could do some damage. Hopefully this can help us all be more aware of our impact on others.
"Thanks, ‘The Group’ for that great lesson!"
