  • Another incident involving an American carrier went viral over the weekend, just two weeks after United Airlines became the subject of a PR nightmare due to the violent eviction of a passenger.

    This time, American Airlines was on the hot seat. A video that showed one of the flight attendants being extremely aggressive against a passenger, a mom, and her baby, made the rounds online. The video was not clear how the argument began -- it seemed to show the aftermath. But you could see the mom crying and asking for the baby's stroller. (According to CNN, American Airlines' policy states that a passenger can carry a small collapsible stroller, but it must be checked at the gate. Bigger strollers must be checked in at the ticket counter.) Another passenger on the same flight said the flight attendant allegedly jerked the stroller from the mom and hurt her who was carrying her baby during the scuffle, CNN further reported.

    In the video, a male passenger stood from his seat and confronted the flight attendant, saying, "Hey bud, hey bud. You do that to me, and I'll knock you flat." They further exchange heated words, but it does not escalate further in the video.

    Netizens have already expressed their sympathy on social media towards the mother, her baby, and the male passenger who was lauded for his actions. Meanwhile, the aggressive flight attendant was slammed for his unprofessional behavior especially with what he did to the mother and child.

    American Airlines released a statement soon after the video started making the news. "We have seen the video and have already started an investigation to obtain the facts. What we see on this video does not reflect our values or how we care for our customers," it said in a statement.

    According to Dallas News, the mom who is still unidentified, has hired the same attorney as Dr. David Dao, the man who had been violently dragged off a United Airlines flight earlier this month. The lawyer, Atty. Thomas Demetrio, didn’t say whether she was planning to sue the carrier. The report added that the mom, who was traveling with two infants, was refunded her fare, offered a $1,000 voucher, and upgraded to first class for the remainder of her international trip.
