WATCH: What Tinder for Parents Could Be Like
  • With all the mom-shaming going around especially online, it's not a far-fetched idea for a parent to wish for an app (yes, that's the world we live in now where an app can seemingly solve everything) that will help her filter and choose parents for friends who have the same values and principles. Think about it. This app will make you worry less: it willl let you know the parents who will never serve junk food on a playdate or will not give you scrutinizing looks when you suddenly breastfeed in one of their family parties.

Buzzfeed seems to have thought long and hard about how to choose a hurdle-free BFF for parents and came up with tada--Tinder For Parents. It's entertaining to watch.

It may be an imaginary app, but we see the potential. We asked a few parents what they think of the idea, and here's what they had to say:

Francis S., whose wife passed away five years ago, said it could be beneficial for single dads who'd like to meet fellow parents. "It's hard for single dad like me to find parent friends, so this could be useful," he explains. "Then again, I also have my long-time friends and siblings who are also parents that I can call when needed."

Single mom Patty Remigio likes the idea of single parents having a Tinder-like app. She shares that it's sometimes difficult for single parents to find new partners, and would like to meet parents who share her interests. "But it might just turn out to be another thing on a parents' to-do list," she argues.

"The Internet has a huge impact in our life, so yes, I think it's natural for people, even parents, to use social media and online dating sites to find relationships," Eliza Ramos, mom-of-five grown kids who has a background in sociology, says. “But even with the filters, it would not guarantee a no-conflict relationship. You cannot even predict if your kids would get along. The real test of lasting friendships are measured with not just the time you invest in them, but also the challenges you go through with them."

What do you think: Would you "swipe right" and use a Tinder for Parents app?
