Why Richard Gutierrez proposed to Sarah in Zermatt, Switzerland
In case you missed it, the parents of Baby Zion are now happily engaged, as first reported by Preview. The proposal happened in Zermatt, Switzerland in March, four years after Sarah and Richard welcomed their son, during the boy's first time to visit his mom's hometown. Richard picked the place to mark their engagement because "that's where we went when Sarah was pregnant with Zion," recounting how he asked Sarah to marry him.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWCONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
"It was on an iconic mountain in Switzerland, then the tip of the Matterhorn was right behind us... There’s like the perfect place overlooking the mountains," Richard said. He set up his camera and tripod and asked Sarah to play her music; she chose to play The Weeknd's "I Feel It Coming." When Richard kneeled down, she started crying -- it was all captured on film. "That's me crying for five minutes. I was ugly crying," Sarah points out as they showed the clips.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Sarah shared with Preview a photo she took of her classic halo diamond engagement ring set against the iconic Matterhorn peak in the background. Congratulations, Richard and Sarah! (preview.ph)

Children at high risk in war against drugs, say UN experts
A joint statement from United Nations (UN) experts called for immediate action against human rights violations yet again. It comes after President Rodrigo Duterte's State of the Nation Address (SONA) last week, where he threatened to bomb Lumad schools for teaching kids to rebel against the government. "We are witnessing severe, multiple human rights violations, especially against indigenous peoples and human rights defenders. Children are not being spared and continue to be at high risk in a climate of prevailing violence," the statement read, though it did not cite particular cases. "Allegations of summary executions, including of children, are also on the rise. All these cases must be investigated thoroughly, and perpetrators should be brought to justice," say UN experts Agnes Callamard, Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions; Mr. Michel Forst, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders; and Ms. Maud de Boer-Buquicchio.
