Wow! Scarlet Snow counts in Filipino and Chinese!
She's not just adorable and talented, she's also smart! In a video posted on her Instagram, Scarlet Snow's nanny asked her to count from one to ten in Filipino and Chinese. After finishing counting in Filipino, the two-year-old tried to shift the conversation by asking her nanny how to count in Chinese. She tried to evade it twice, but eventually relented. She can count in Chinese really well, too! "Haaay. Yaya won't let me eat until I count 1-10 in Tagalog and Chinese. Daddy, mommy, please come by home! I'm tired of counting again and again and again," the caption read. Knowing how to count in three languages (we're pretty sure she can count from one to ten in English, too) is a big feat to achieve for her age, thanks to the early lessons she has had since she was a baby. Nice job, Scarlet Snow! (abs-cbn.com)
Cristine Reyes echoes what every mom wishes for her childADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
In a fast-talk interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda, the Kapamilya actress and mom was proud to say she has never felt ugly ever (Moms, take a cue!). Cristine misses traveling alone and, according to her, the bravest thing she's done was to commit to one "sexy at gwapong lalake" which is, of course, her husband, MMA fighter Ali Khatibi. In the mirror segment of the interview, she revealed the one life experience she doesn't want her daughter Amarah to go through. "Dapat hindi maranasan ni Amarah ang feeling unloved, dahil naranasan mo yon. Mahirap yon. Nagalit ka sa mundo. Pero tumayo ka pa rin naman." Amarah sure has a good role model to look up to on being a strong woman -- her mom. (abs-cbn.com)
MMDA working with schools to reduce congestion around campuses
Top Gear Philippines reports that the MMDA had already met with representatives from Saint Pedro de Poveda College, a school located between EDSA and the Ortigas Central Business District to resolve traffic in the area. The school officials have agreed to place tarpaulins strategically to help disseminate information regarding traffic schemes, which will be in effect in the next few days. One of the plans is to have a shuttle service at pick-up and drop-off points outside the congested area, similar to the one being implemented by the MMDA and Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) along Katpinunan Ave, Quezon City. The Poveda Parent-Teacher Association has also encouraged the agency to issue tickets to drivers of students caught violating traffic rules. The MMDA, on the other hand, requested that school personnel undergo training and deputization to help enforce the rules. The agency is also set to meet with school officials from ADMU, La Salle, and Miriam. (topgear.com.ph)
Graco recalls more than 25,000 car seatsADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
The baby company had issued a recall of more than 25,000 My Ride 65 convertible child car seats due to a risk of injury to children who use it. According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the seat's webbing may not be strong enough to adequately restrain a child in the event of a crash, so "the seats do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards." The affected My Ride Convertible car seats include eight models which were manufactured between May and August 2014. No injuries have been reported yet, but the voluntary recall was made after the car seat failed the NHTSA's annual evaluation of the restraint system compliance, including the individual components of the car seat and the complete car seat in a dynamic crash simulation. Graco is issuing replacement kits to customers affected by the recall. (parents.com)
Manchester Arena attack casualties named, includes an 8-year-old
As the dust settles in England in the wake of the biggest terrorist attack in the U.K. since 2005, many tributes to those who have died have surfaced online. So far, 14 of the 22 casualties' identities have been made public. As the blast happened at the foyer minutes after Ariana Grande finished her performance, the dead consist of mostly parents who were picking up the kids after the concert. Kelly Brewster died while shielding her 11-year-old niece from the blast. Since Grande's fanbase mostly consists of young teens, some of them, unfortunately, lost their lives too, including an eight-year-old girl named Saffie Roussos, who, according to her teacher, was a "simple and beautiful little girl in every sense of the word".
