  • In a vlog titled 'The Most Painful And Difficult Moment Of My Life,' Yeng Constantino put into words how much she loves and misses her mommy Susan, who passed away last September 2021.

The singer began by recounting her battle with COVID-19 in the same month that her mom passed. She and her husband, Yan Asuncion, both contracted the virus, but only Yeng experienced symptoms.

"Grabe rin talaga 'yung feeling. Parang nagpa-pound lang 'yung head ko. Tapos bawat araw parang tinatakluban lang 'yung susunod na araw...parang nawawalan ka na talaga ng sense of time," Yeng shared.

It was during this time that Yeng received the sad news about her mom's passing. Yeng said her mother has been having health problems over the past years.

Yeng then recounted the ups and downs of her relationship with her mom and how despite all their misunderstandings in the past, she remains grateful to her mommy Susan.

    Yeng's relationship with her mom

The “Pinoy Dream Academy” alum admits that she had a cold relationship with her mom. They didn't see eye to eye on many things and Yeng used to question why her mother seemed to oppose her decisions.

Yeng, however, realizes that it was just her mom's way of showing her love to her kids. Looking back now, the singer regrets being "immature" for doubting her mom's gestures.

"'Yun 'yung way niya to tell you na 'ayokong ma-experience mo 'yung hirap na na-experience ko noong time ko.'

Yeng's father also attested to how much Mommy Susan loved her kids. It was then that Yeng found out the why her mom was "masungit" toward her.

She could not help but feel emotional knowing that grieving for her mom will be a lifelong process. Yeng may not have a perfect relationship with her mom but she says she will always be grateful to mommy Susan for teaching her the value of hard work.

Yeng also offered some words of encouragement to anyone who is mourning the loss of their loved ones:

"Kung may pinagdadaanan kayo, kahit ano man 'yan hindi kayo nag-iisa lalung-lalo sa mga nawalan ng mahal sa buhay, kailangan natin magpakatatag...Keep on going."
