  • How to Make a Travel Journal

    Traveling to places with the family creates happy memories that we would all like to hold on to. Here’s a crafty way to preserve the highlights of your trip.

  • travel journalWhen you travel, are you like me who keeps every single bit of item? I don’t throw away plane tickets, boarding passes, glass coasters, and the like because I associate them with the feeling of happiness that I had during that particular trip.  Back home, though, I would not know where to keep them, and one time, to my dismay, they were thrown away by mistake.

    Thankfully, a friend of mine with great talent and gifted hands showed me what to make of all the keepsakes I collect during my vacations : a travel journal.  It’s like a scrapbook / journal / photo album in one.  Here’s how to make one, but feel free to experiment and to let your creativity soar:

    Making a page

    You will need:
    •    Cardstock or 230 gsm board

    •    Coordinating scrapbook papers

    •    Double Adhesive

    •    Liquid glue

    •    Cord, raffia or ribbon

    •    Stickers, buttons or other embellishments (as desired)

    •    Straight-edged ruler

    •    Cutter

    •    Scissors

    •    Cutting Mat

    •    Puncher


    Making the cover page

     You will need:

    •    Agency board or illustration board or specialty board (300gsm)

    •    Coordinating scrapbook papers

    •    Double Adhesive

    •    Liquid glue

    •    Buttons and embellishments

    •    Book rings

    •    Ribbons
