We know Korean dramas are a mom’s guilty pleasure and if given the chance, we’re sure you’d want to visit the sets and filming locations of your favorite K-dramas and movies. While we’re waiting for the chance to be able to fly again, one mom is actually living the dream!
Mom Imee “Mee” Lee calls herself a “full-time mom and K-drama fangirl.” She and her family have been based in South Korea since July 2018, after she and her Korean husband got married.
Mee, who got hooked to K-dramas in 2009, started visiting K-drama locations when she first flew to South Korea in 2015. She went to the set of My Love From The Star during her visit.

It didn’t stop there. Mee went viral earlier this year after visiting the set of the hit K-drama Crash Landing On You. She uploaded photos and videos of her visit on her Facebook page, Mee in Korea. She considers herself lucky because she was able to go to the set of the North Korean Village where the cast filmed before it was demolished.

Mee also visited filming locations of the series It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. “Whenever na naho-hook po talaga ako sa isang Korean drama, talagang pinupuntahan ko ‘yung mga filming locations nila kahit medyo malayo,” she explains.
But it’s her latest destination that is making all of us green with envy. The mom was able to visit the space where the K-drama Start-Up was filmed!
This includes the SamSan Tech office, Cheongmyeong Corndog Shop and of course, Sandbox. She was able to visit all these despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Dito sa South Korea wala pong mga protocol na kailangan magpa-swab test when you travel to other cities. The Korean government [is] doing their best para talaga ma-lessen kahit papaano [ang cases],” Mee shares.
“So, we are allowed to go outside pa rin, wala po kaming lockdown. We just see to it na meron kaming mask every time we go out especially sa mga public places,” she adds.
