    In October 2020, the government eased restrictions, allowing persons in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) to cross borders under “reasonable regulations” from local authorities. They also widened the age bracket of those who can leave their houses to 15 to 65 years old.

    If you want to book a staycation in Metro Manila, the Department of Tourism (DOT) announced that guests of all ages will be welcomed, except for pregnant women and individuals with co-morbidities.     Here are the places which they recommended. Keep in mind that you may still need to secure a travel pass when traveling to places outside Metro Manila. You may also be asked to provide a health certificate once you arrive at your accommodation.

    Just because you are alone in the resort or accommodation does not mean you should relax on taking proper precautions. Make sure to call ahead to ask what safety measures the resort is taking and ask for their health requirements before making a reservation.

According to their Facebook page, they “strongly adhere” to the safety and sanitation standards set by the DOT, Department of Health, IATF, and their local government unit.

    For added peace of mind, book one of their glass houses, which comes with its own mini bubble pool where you and your family can enjoy bonding in private.

    The Private Camp in Daraitan, Tanay

    One mom opted to go to a private camp site with her family. They were able to bathe in the river, make a bonfire, and take in the fresh ambiance.

    Rates start at 2,500 for 5 pax, according to their Facebook page. You can stay overnight but the mom advises to bring your own tent, pillows and blankets, as well as water, food, and utensils for sanitation purposes.

    The Barkly House Resort in Binan, Laguna

    Another option is to book private resort in Laguna (see a guide here.) This private property only accepts a maximum of 6 people at a time, so you can enjoy your mini getaway.
