I answered that on the 1st thread. The Nido girl is her classmate Angel Lee who also did KFC.

For modelling contest 4-7yo, check out little miss confetti
http://www.confetti.com.ph/little_miss_confetti

For baby models, check out local baby magazines, they are in constant search for baby models. Check out my blog too on how to submit their photos for local magazine model pooling.

Medyo OT but I would like to share what we recently experienced there in Manila.  :D We were walking along Roxas Blvd we got some errands along that area and naghahanap kami ng photocopier when suddenly we got approached by 2 girls asking if my husband is willing to be an extra for the episode of MMK they were shooting that day. Sabi nila it won't take that long naman and he's just going to be standing lang naman daw on that scene. To make the long story short, my husband got tired of waiting na kasi we were at their set since 8:45am and it's almost 1pm, hindi pa na sho-shoot yung scene niya.  :-[ We still got things to do pa kaya we told them that we were leaving na lang. Sayang din yung 500 na TF but it wasn't really worth it with the waiting since of behind the scene issues (props & stuffs not prepared kaya delayed).

Guess nyo what's that episode of MMK... it's the Ninoy and Cory special.  :-X Anyways, even though hindi natuloy yung pagiging extra ng husband ko dun, I get some "perks" tagging along.  :D Kasi other extras they were just outside the hotel kami, my son & I get to stay inside the hotel where they were shooting. One of the crews even asked me if I want to see Bea and I asked if okay lang ba and he said, oo naman and he opened the room where Bea was getting made up for her role and she was wearing a pink gown. Tanong niya ako if I saw Piolo and sabi ko hindi, kasi naka upo daw sa likod ano pa hindi makita agad.  :D Pero later I did saw him.

Kung napanood nyo yung SNN last January 6, yan yung suot niya during the interview.

Sayang...  :'( Charge to experience na lang.  :D

It's not OT. It's still a shooting experience and we learned na possible pala makuha ka on-the-spot :)

What I know sa mga shoot na ganyan, the extras get paid but not immediately. As in matagal na wait and you have to pick it up from their office pa. We're you told you'll get paid on the spot?
Title: Re: All about Baby/Child Modelling
Post by: yeoj on January 08, 2010, 03:50:31 pm
Hindi ko alam, mommyjazz. It's more like a spur of the moment experience. We were killing time and we thought why not? lol

My husband just saw me posting and sabi niya if it's just a one off scene, you get paid daw after the scene. Whereas if you are a regular extra daw, you get paid daw after 5 appearances. He befriended kasi the other 2 guys extra for their scene. Kasama sila antay, so I guess chika chika sila while waiting. I also talked to them and I think they were veteran when it comes to extra roles in movies and shows. Tiyaga lang talaga at oras yung kailangan kasi as they've told us quick scene lang yung sa part ng husband ko pero it was the preparation and waiting that took time. Sabi pa nga ng isang crew it won't take long kasi both Piolo and Bea are professionals. But it's the behind the scene that really took time. Kasi habang nag aantay kami sa lobby ng hotel, ginagawa pa lang yung ibang props for some scenes. Nung umalis kami nag apologize pa nga yung isang crew for the delay. They understand naman that we have to leave.

Even though my husband didn't get to do his "role", they gave us some food kasi lunch time na yun. Ayaw ko sana dalhin kasi nakakahiya naman we didn't do our part, but they insisted so we took it na lang. Silip namin kung ano yung laman, rice, pritong talong and a plastic bag of soup. We saw 3 metro aides along the way and we gave them the food and they were very pleased and very happy with the gesture. Sabi ng husband ko it's all worth it daw kasi they appreciated the food.

On my part naman as alalay or stagewife, lol, I think I experienced a VIP treatment. lol Kasi I've noticed sa labas ng hotel siksikan dun ang mga other extras and their companions.

hi mommies! i've been reading this forum since last year but i didn't have enough time to sign up because i was so busy. My son LLEWELLYN got his first project for a print ad for a real estate. the experience was great! i was so proud of him... i hope to see him in a TVC next time. I really enjoyed reading all the posts here, very interesting and helpful.
Title: Re: All about Baby/Child Modelling
Post by: Mommy Jazz on February 06, 2010, 10:31:57 pm
Wow congrats to Llewellyn! Whew, that's a unique name for a unique boy. I'm sure I can make money with a boy that good looking.

I wish my daughter will grow up to be as successful as Fiona. Kaya lang, she's not interested in going to VTRs anymore, much more to join the little miss confetti. Nawalan na siya ng interes sa pagmomodel. I think it's my fault for exposing her too early. But now I think she's getting too tired of it. Even if she sees her old friends and classmates on TV, she doesn't feel any envy.
Sabi ni Husband, pabayaan ko nalang daw. At any age, she will still be bankable. Aminado ako, ako ang mas may gusto for her to make it big in modelling.
Kaya I'm proud of the Mommies here. But let us not forget, marami ring hardship and failures itong passion natin. In that case, I'm still one with you.
Title: Re: All about Baby/Child Modelling

hi mommyjazz! if i haven't read your posts and blogs, i wouldn't really have any clues how these things work, so a VERY BIG THANKS to you!

I was also somehow thinking that maybe someday Llewellyn might not want these modelings and anything related to that.but right now while he is still enjoying and is not really fully aware of what's happening, might as well get all the chances. But it's also true that most of the times, it's US moms who really wants to put our children on the spotlight. It makes us proud and our spirits uplifted.

Llewellyn and I are just starting, I'm not quite sure if he will still get projects next time (but i hope so  :)) Sure it is hard work but is worth every minute of it especially if other people will appreciate it too.

Hi mommies, I'm so glad to be back here at Stagemom Corner. Hi Mommy Jazz! Miss you to bits! Kay Lance as Ovaltine Ambassador and Fiona as Hannah Montana model naman.  ;D

Last week, Nathalie had 3 fastfood finalcastings (different fastfoods yun). It was really tough for us, especially for Nathalie kasi magkakaibigan silang naglaban laban. If you're in the kid model industry for some time, you'll meet a lot of kids and parents sa VTRs and go-sees. It time, pag parati kayo nagkikita, nagiging friends mo sila at nagkakaroon kayo ng circle. In our case, we (parents) really wanted our kids to bag the role. But they're all so good - siguro kasi nasanay na sila. And may the best kid wins. For Nathalie naman kasi, she's doing it for fun... although the pay is a big plus din... pag di nakuha "di bale, may next time naman - marami pa dyan!" - as Nathalie always say with a grim and she's tries harder next time. Sa bagay, Bata pa naman sya and like Mommy Jazz's Julia, bankable si Nat.

May isang milk na approve na sana kaming dalawa ni Nat (mother-daughter tandem at shoot sana nun birthday ko last Jan) kaso when we reviewed the contract, naka lock-out sya for 18 months and included dun ang choco drink. You see, Nathalie was one of the kid support of Nestle Chuckie (she's the girl eating a sandwich sa 2 frames) and naka lock-out sya dun (included ang mga ready-to-drink juices, milk and choco drink). Nathalie's contract with Chuckie will end on November 2010. Oh well, maybe next time nalang. Kaysa mapunta sa kasuhan due to "Bridge of Contract" at makabayad ng multa - or worst - MA-BAN sa mga casters and agencies... we have to let go of the project.  :'(

Brushing-off the incident, Nathalie will have another magazine shoot tomorrow (Feb 9) 6PM. I got a call from the Magazine eds last Saturday evening. And what magazine? I'll let you know guys after the shoot. I'll post some behind the scene photos here at Stagemom.  ;)

Anyway, here's another photoshoot session with other models... Nathalie is the girl with the long hair... enjoy!  ;D

@kieragarie, you can check out my blog on my signature below. I got too many negative feedbacks about the agency that they sent me a hate comment. The feedbacks came from those who were approached, not me. I am actually still (for years now) waiting for good feedbacks. I'm not connected with them so if yo have further questions, email them on their given email address.

In summary, they say na OK lang to still have them as your agent even without undergoing their paid workshop. Those who commented on my site saying they personally dealt with them, say otherwise.

di ba na XXX yun 2 years ago? It's a plus kasi ma hahasa yung talents ng bata.

I heard some positive - but mostly negative feedbacks about liahona... sa Boni yun diba?  ???

Thanks momy weng, she & mudra!

Actually, it really takes a lot of patience, determination, hard work and disipline for her (Nathalie) "to bring home the bacon". We experienced faliure many times pero si Nath kasi never gives up... until naging natural nalang sa kanya mag act.

And of course di pwede pabaya sa studies (still number 1 priority).

This is Nathalie's 10th TVC since '08 (though she started ramp at 4 yo) and she had a number of magazine appearances and modeling.

@ momi weng - Wait till your baby gets older - yung ready na sya sumabak sa kiddie modeling. My 3 year old always say na ready na sya pero pag nasa VTR na nagmamaktol. So bale tigil muna sya until such time na sure na sya humarap sa cam - and the pressures of TV modeling  ;) My 1 yo unico hijo had his first TVC when he was still 3 weeks old. pero ngayon wala muna. Nagkataon naman nun time na yun need talaga ng new born and our agent asked us to attend a final casting. And yun na nga, he got the part - although mabilis lang sya and buong xmas season lang sya lumabas (unilab)

It really pays to be patient. I remember 1 kid got really maktol infront of the caster kasi nahihiya pa sya. The mom got really angry and she gave her little 5 year old a lecture about "investing clothes and stuff". I feel bad towards the little girl... parang naging traumatic sa kanya ang experience kasi nga napilitan lang...  :-\

Good luck future stagemom!!!

thanks sis kat,

kasi i remember lang my daughter really want into modelling, she can dance, sing, act and even hosting very talented kasi...kaya lang kapag kaharap na ibang tao nahihiya na sya....which is ayaw ko naman syang pilitin, sabi ko na lang na im sure darating din yung time na sya na mismo ang magpipilit sa akin, she was 4 years old then...
Now she's already 9 years old, sometimes nagsasabi sya gusto na niya kasi may classmate sya sa school IMC Montessori na commercial model i cant remember his name, pero sya yun batang lalaki sa ceelin vitamins..encouraging her to do tv commercial, hehe.

thanks so much ;)

Pwede naman kayo mag hanap ng ibang agency after she graduated from the workshop. At least ready na sya to do tv modeling.

ummm... usually a caster from a talent agency will approach you for a VTR of your son... should they be really interested in your son's beautiful face. usually, they approach you in public places or a person will refer you to them.

if you're really very interested to have your son seen for print and tv ads... i suggest you look in phone directories for talent agencies. advertising agencies (who produce the commercials) seldom talk to the talents.

in addition, talent agencies have contracts which can protect you and your baby's rights... but usually they have a lock-out period of 3-5years. meaning...you can't go to other VTRs besides those they call you for. you also need a DOLE permit. you'll have to go through a seminar etc. before you can bring your baby to a shoot.

good luck!

and oh... word of caution: during print or tv ad shootings, they use lights that are really strong which can harm your baby's vision. not all people know this... they only think about business. so, its either you take the risk of letting people see your baby's beautiful face and get paid yet suffer the baby's sight for the future.

hope this helps.

Hello mommy kat and stagemommies.

Ask ko po what happens to your kid’s modeling career kapag hindi complete ang set ng teeth niya or nagkascar? When my daughter sofia turned six last September, her milk teeth started to fall off. Lately her two front upper teeth starts to fall off. I wanted her to go into modeling but because of her teeth and the scars she acquired during play mukhang malabo na pumasok into modeling  :'(.

Usually, how long po ba to wait for the teeth to grow? Can they were false teeth? In modeling po ba, very strict rin po sa scars?

Thank you in advance.

Hi momi nadya... laki ng ng daughter mo! Pretty pa :)

Anyway, I'm not really sure how long teeth grows. Depende kasi. Better check your family dentist about that matter. I only used dentures nun nagkataon Nat's tooth fell off the day before her shoot for Nestle Chuckie last year. Most agencies prefer flawless skin. Try to treat your daughter's scar first before isabak sya sa modeling. pero kung ang scar sa legs or arms... may iba maselan dyan. I tried to make daya by letting my 2nd child, trish, wear long socks. pero nun pinatanggal yung socks - hala - a scar as big as a 10 centavo coin reveled. Oh well, she'll out grow naman that scar anyway!  ;)

Goodluck future stagemom!

I have 8 year old daughter who really interested to become a print ad model.  Nag start na kami  mag vtr sa mga agencies but no casting call until now. Please give some tips.....and saan ba maganda mag workshop (modelling/acting/voice) . Do you know upcoming vtr that suitable to her age.

thanks,

Same here Mommy nadya. she's at the age when her milk teeth falls off. Hanggang ngayon hindi pa kumpleto, it keeps getting replaced, it's almost a year na since I stopped taking her to VTRs.
All we can do is wait. Hindi naman mawawala ang media industry. Anytime she's ready, she can make a comeback.
There's actually an agent who suggested that we put false teeth on her kasi sayang daw, shortlisted na siya for a final VTR. Ayaw ko  nga. I said OK lang, we'll just update her file at their office pag complete na ulit teeth niya. The agent insisted that I have to explain that this is not the 1st time my daughter is shortlisted for a project, in fact, she had many exposures already. For me, I feel OK lang ang mag-pass sa opportunity. This way, the part will surely go other kids and they will have a good experience din.

@godrefdoloi, only your agent can call/text you if there's any VTR needing a child with a description that fit's your child. You can call your agent just to get an update if there's any VTR for 8yo girl. Sa dami kasi ng talents nila, minsan nalilimutan nila to call/text some of their talents. This is the reason why some get more than 1 agent, which of course, has disadvantages too. As for the workshop, if you think your child really needs it and she's interested, then go. Check out my blog for my opinion about it. Workshops had also been discussed in this thread. I think it's on part 1 (check out reply no 1 of this thread) or use the search feature and type "workshop".

How can you say a the stagemom or stagemom wannabe is going overboard?

at the 1st stagemom thread, I already shared our experiences with other stagemoms - yung tipong annabell rama at bakekang type. As in gagawin na ang lahat basta lang sumikat o ma number 1 si anak. There was this young SP parent na nag confess sa amin na she felt na overboard na sya when she yelled her 6 yo daughter. She found out na her daughter didn't do well sa final casting kasi nag comment ang caster. And she regret of what she did because she realized it was her passion and fustration that made her to push her daughter into modeling.

There are 2 sides of a stagemom. one is the sport na ok lang if her kid didn't bagged the role kasi "may next time naman" or the over-exagg stagemom na gagawin ang lahat basta sila ang number 1 or the best. (i remember the girl sa charlie and the chocolate factory... parang ganun silang mag ina)

Sis Kat, I completely understand what you're trying to point out. This is one of my objectives when I wrote my Blog and started the Stage Mother threads (parts 1 and 2). This is to educate parents on how to be a "good" stage parent.

Other than Bakekang and Annabel Rama, I've seen mothers who are "pikon", sisiraan yung batang nakuha (will say, "naku, kasi kilala yung director, malakas sa caster, etc."), competitive, aawayin yung finalist by hiding in a username na blank ang profile, magagalit sa organizer dahil hindi pasok yung anak niya, kukulitin yung agent, even the caster in promoting her own child para mapasok sa final casting, etc. The worst is, when you get angry at the child for not making it. It's like punishing the child for not getting the 1st honor. I'm not saying they are the worst kind of Mothers kasi naging ganun din ako dati and I realized how wrong I was, I apologized to my daughter, made amends and moved on. I shared that experience on my blog "Stagemom Blues" to enlighten other parents the evils and perils of being a Stage Mother.

Isa sa mahirap na tungkulin sa pagiging Stagemom is hiding your true feelings pagdating sa pagiging disappointed o frustrated. Malaki ang magiging effect nito sa bata. The child might carry with him/her a lifelong goal that the mother always has to be pleased and they should always be the winner or else. Unfortunately I can say, mahirap yon while the "just-got-rejected" experience is still fresh.

I know of a story naman, her daughter wanted to be on print and the Mother found ways of getting her in, only for the girl to refuse cooperating on the day of the shoot. Siyempre nagalit ang Nanay (sino ba ang hindi), plus the embarassment she felt to the staff who took her child. I think it's because the child didn't realize na nakakatense pala pag nasa camera ka na, ang dami-daming pinapagawa. That experience is 1st time naman. You can always learn from experience.

If the mother and child is both like those characters in Charlie Choco, (yun yung athletic yung bata diba, chewing a gum of a contest?) for as long as the child is just as competitive and not pushed or made to be competitive, I think it's fine. Masama nga lang kung over competitive like nangaaway and madamot na like the movie characters.

Yes, I once yelled at my child. Nakakahiya pa kasi, even if I did that behind the casters, agents and other models, may mga nakakita pa rin and I'm sure they are familiar with that scene lalo na yung umiyak ang bata, nakakahiya talaga. What's important is I have learned my lesson, apologized and moved on. After my daughter got a handful of projects, she's tired of modelling na and we're not pushing her even if her agents keep texting and convincing me.

Kaya let's all make a difference in this business by being the "good" stage parent. By not criticizing other kids and parents (diba nga, kadalasan ang away ay dahil sa mga nanay at hindi sa mga talents?), by being a good sport, by not having too high expectations for our child, by not blaming them for not doing well enough, for not letting our stage mother passion get the best of us or turn us into monsters.
Title: Re: All about Baby/Child Modelling
Post by: katgener on April 19, 2010, 02:26:17 pm
Alam mo yung feeling na "you're this close - but not close enough"...

I told you about the mag-ina a year ago, remember?). Di talaga maiwasan ang competition - actually between the parents na eh.

Some newcomers weren't able to cope up with the "industry" kaya nag qui-quit na sila. Some talagang porsigido... fight till the end.

And I'm glad mommy jazz opened this thread. Hindi naman lang ito pointers on how to get your kids to the modeling business, but also to show the pros and cons of it. Our kid's (Julia, Nat, Fiona, Banky, Raffy, Miggy, Caine - and the rest of the models...) ordeal with the industry is not (again) a bed of roses - or a walk in the park. Hindi lahat ng pagkakataon ay madali. Kaya we parents should consider our kids' feelings kung like pa nila yung ginagawa nila...

I guess the worst kind of stagemom is when they let their kids (or force to) do modeling to sustain their needs. I heard one mom questioned by dole because they found out that the kid missed a lot of classes and they use the TF to pay the bills, house rent, tuition fees etc. Maybe that is why DOLE regulated the Child Permit to protect young models being exploited by their parents. I know a lot of moms deposited their kid's TF (talent fee) for savings or trust funds. Nakakainis talaga to know na ginagawa na ng bata yung dapat na obligasyon ng magulang. Modeling is supposed to be - well parang extra or hobby lang ng bata... and not a job he has to take.

Perception mo...
Title: Re: All about Baby/Child Modelling
Post by: katgener on April 21, 2010, 09:13:21 am
Mommy Iris, I understand your plight but child modeling is not the answer sa problem nyo. Una kasi you're going to invest a lot of time, money for clothes and fare. If you're a working mom (like me) kailangan may ibang tao maghahatid sa anak mo. At syempre, gagastos ka parin nun because you have to give allowance sa bantay. Kung makuha, well, di naman agad makukuha yung TF... sometimes you have to wait for months for the paycheck. Eh what if di nakuha? You have to start all over again.

If you think you're child has the potential... go for it. Pero kung shy type naman sya and he needs to develop pa, ipapa workshop mo pa sya.

Don't get me wrong Sis Iris... It's not that I'm discouraging you to follow other stagemom's footsteps. I'm just laying all the facts that you should know behind child modeling. And if you're going to force your kid to do something na di pala niya gusto, it could result to resentment sa part ng bata.

And Lilybeth is right, our kids should not bear the burden of paying off debts. it's our responsibility to provide the means of our children. Therefore giving you child that responsibilty is not right. Let your kid join modeling for fun and not as work. I hope you understand. When he grows older, he'll will tell you that he's ready for modeling.

Exactly my point! Ewan nalang sa mga mahina makaintindi! It's a form of child abuse. Bakit mo patratrabahuin ang bata just to pay your utang for Pete's Sakes! Actually, yan ang line ng work ko kaya I know the rules. Mommy Jazz, I think I saw your daughter before... so does katgener's... very familliar...  ;)

I belive na yung ibang momy here nabigla lalang rin  :).. SP momies kilala as a loving care mom.

Pero please don't get us wrong. We're telling you - with all honesty na di ganun kadali ang kid modeling. Try visiting mommy jazz's site for more info.

@ sis keih - yes kasali si Nat dun and she's one of the dancers sa TVC.

Thank you so much mommy Kat and mommy Jazz about the advice on teeth and scar question - very helpful po. Sofie said na pagdating ng Christmas she’ll be singing “all  I want for Christmas is my two front teeth”.

With regards to the issue on child abuse, sa akin po kasi I wish my daughter to join modeling in helping her discover more about herself and how i can help her develop those skills or hidden talents she has. My daughter is not shy. Kinakausap pa nga niya mga kapwa contestants niya. When we join contests, I make sure she is enjoying it.

Getting into modeling might help her choose the career she wants to get into. It could help her discover what she really wants to do when she grows up while she is still young. Not that i'm saying na modeling is the only way to discover your kid’s potential, there are many sports or activities that will help the child discover his/her potential. Modeling can open doors to an acting career, or a career in media. Other model kids went into newscasting/reporting or segment hosts/reporters gaya ng dating kids on q sa qtv 11. atom araullo, milo kid sa commercials dati – segment report sa kalye sa abs-cbn. Chacha, etc star in kulilits abs-cbn 2, hindi lang puro acting at commercial/tvc modeling, they are into segment hosting or featuring topics sa kulilits.

When I was in 4th year high school, we had a career orientation. Newscaster Angelo Castro (former abs-cbn newscaster) was one of the speakers. Naisip ko na habang maaga pa why not orient my daughter sa career she wants to take. And as a parent you know how expensive it is to send our kids to school, unless you’re very rich and money is not an issue.

I would be a hypocrite if I am not attracted to the money that the kid will earn from her modeling. I guess it will be a huge help to those parents who are struggling with their finances-pero sana gusto rin ng bata. Mommy jazz once told me na hindi lahat ng projects malaki ang bayad.  for me, whatever she will earn, i want it to go to her saving account.
This stagemom topic has taught me a lot. As the experienced stagemoms said, modeling is not easy. Kaya nga po nagdadalawang isip ako ipasok daughter ko into modeling.  Hanggang ngayon po stagemom wannabe po ako. Kung gusto talaga ng bata magmodel and you see they have potentials, why not support them diba. When the kids start to earn, teach them that modeling is not a life-long career, and while they are still earning, teach them also to save money and the value of hard work. Teach them to pray kung talagang they  are meant to be in modeling. This topic has taught me acceptance – maybe my kid’s future is not into modeling. And be grateful for what we have. Grateful if our kids have lots of modeling projects. Be grateful pa rin if they can’t get into modeling kasi they get to enjoy their childhood. They get to play as much as they want as a kid as opposed to a model kid dapat flawless at hindi magalusan. And be humble always.

Thank you so much for sharing, and keep on sharing.
Peace, and love, love, love  :)

@Mommy jazz
How are you & mga kids?..nag workshop si Enoch sa Starhorizon Agency- prize niya kasi yun before nung sinali ko siya sa Star Model Search nila last year..this year lang namin nagamit..worth 8.5k yun for 10 sessions.

Very true..online friendship can be real & lasting=)

At kahit papano we still have time to see each other. And I'm very happy na lahat tayo blessed na nagka projects ang mga kiddos natin, mapa TVC, ramp or print.

And I'm sure sunod-sunod nanaman ang raket ni Enoch!

Mommy Jazz what happened kay Julia?! Si Nat allergic to the sun (like me!) pero she likes swimming naman. I bought her a bathing suit na long sleeved. Natawa nga mga mares nun nakita kiddos ko kasi the last time nagkita kami sa isang swiming party, lahat silang magkakapatid  may sleeves ang swim wear! Pero I hope we'll get to see Julia sa ramp very soon. I saw her na sa print and TVC (Gain plus pa ata yun) - next naman catwalk na sya!  ;)

Mommy, backread kayo. We already discussed it here sa thread...  ;)

Start here:

Then you'll wait for your agent to text you kung may go-see or vtr fit sa child mo. Kung may requirement naman, they'll text you agad.

For starters, It's better to have 1 agent muna kasi all (talent) madalas iisa lang ang pinagkukunanan ng infor ng projects ang mga agents and they will be asked to find the same requirement.  Kasi before, I had problems on having multiple agencies because di maiiwasan mag tampo ang isa. Later, I stick to one nalang. Kung saan kami comfortable mag deal.

Di nakasalalay sa agent ang pagkakaroon ng project ang kiddo mo, nor palakasan system (there's no such thing!). If your kid have this X factor na hinahanap ni caster - lucky you! Pero syempre the client always give the final say. There are some models na napapalitan at the last minute kasi iba pala ang gusto ni client.

Again... kiddie modeling is not easy. You'll invest, spend, need a lot of time, diligence, patience... i can go on... before you finally - FINALLY land a project. I'm just being realistic here as a stagemom (PA - as in personal alalay to Nathalie) for 6 years and it's tough! I'm a full time working mom too... kaya mas mahirap. I even invested to hire a yaya dedicated for Nathalie only (kasi sya yung madalas tawagan. Pag required naman papuntahin yung 2 younger kid ko, I prefer kasama ako) - If I can't accompany her sa shoot or vtr/go-sees, si yaya ang mag aasikaso - from sa hair, choice ng clothes, paghatid... etc. And you have to be ready to accept rejections too. Minsan kasi, nakakatrauma sya... at nakaka low self esteem especially kung lagi kayo rejected.

And before you let your child enter to kiddie modeling, ask yourself...

- Is she ready for this emotionally and psychologically (some kids get traumatized of seeing new faces, being scolded to, flashes and light bulbs)?
- Is my child willing to enter modeling or is it me (well, let's face it, the moms are the ones who wanted their kids to be seen on TV; and we are the ones who gets fustrated when our kids weren't picked)?
- Am I willing to spend money for clothes, fare, baon etc every vtr or go-see?
- Do I have the time and patience to wait for hours, endure the heat or rain? Is my child patient enough to do the same?
- Will my work, family relationship or my child's school performance will be affected?

Think it over and discuss it with your kid first. Sayang naman if you'll let him join tapos di pala niya gusto or forte yun. Modeling can be a great experience and traumatic at the same time. Read the whole thread so you'll get a better understanding of child modeling.  :)

thanks mommy katgener! :) i have read some of the conversations/posts here regarding baby/child modelling but i'll read more. i actually didn't think of letting my daughter enter TVCs, VTRs and the like but as she grows, we see that she has a potential that i just have to let her be herself by entering this.

thank you for the advices. :)

I agree with mommy katgener. Television here in the Philippines ay hindi nawawalan ng commercials. ;D

Hi! Had a chance to be online. Got busy with a lot of events lately. We're cooking up another fashion show next month.

Sis kat, we already got an invite. I just hope he gets in...

Yearly naman ata ito so sa mga hindi naka join may chance pa kayo mag join next year.

his only 10 months when he stated in mocel shop now his turning 1 year

talaga modelshop kiddo mo? Anong commercials niya? Saan sya doon? Share mo naman photos like the others here para ma kita namin  :) Humm... second family? Ano yun? other ka?  ???

Anyway, I know si Zianne, yung 1 yo daughter ni Fionalance lumabas sa Tiki-tiki last year. Di ba mommy katgener yung boy mo lumabas sa Unilab TVC noon mga less than a month sya? I remembered kasi client namin Unilab and I saw the whole thing before they show it on air. Bilib na ako sa iyo ha. Talagang ikaw ang may dugong showbiz. Eh galing Repertory Philippines ka pa naman! Tapos TV commercial model ka pa on the side. Balita ko lalabas ka nanaman with Kris Aquino for a TVC. I also saw you and your baby modelled at Ayala Town Center last year at the Fashion Show with Gladys Reyes. We were the ones who organized it. And Mommy Jazz's Julia was on Gain Plus when she was still very young. :-\

Casting nanaman... for us... the most difficult to handle ay mga kids and babies. yeah they're cute - pero madugo ang pag pili... matantrum... maarte... moody... but cute! Well, that's child modeling eh, We have to deal with that anyway. What our client wants, we give it.

Pasensya na ha... i'm just saying the truth. Sa amin kasi sa industriya (advertising) kasi, walang cute cute pag walang "it" factor.

@ mommy katgener, were you be able to attend at Dominic Bonnevie's 40 days? I saw Nathalie and your brothers Bryan & Francis there. Friends kami ng mom ni Alexi (yung nasa Nido) kaya I was there sa Platinum 1000 sa Greenhills.

Ah! Ahensya pala husband mo. Secret eh. PM kita why. For now I'm glad I'm done with our 1st project at Jakarta for Nutella. Stress as in! Sabit lang ako doon kasi. Pero I'm handling UNILAB right now - except for the last project na kakatapos lang ang shoot... It took a while to decide - but one lucky cutee mini guy made it to shooting day!

hello mommahs. My daughtie got a call for a scheduled VTR 2 days ago. Since I am new to this how does this actually work? My baby is turning 1y/o. What will happen po ba sa VTR. Anyway name ng agency is Snapshot. Located daw sila sa Makati Cinema Square. Any feedback sa company? What will happen then if we go dun sa vtr? and if kung sa kali napili baby ko what will happen next? Di ba to maging child labor? meron pa bang mga paper works needed to process etc? What do we get in return in case we get the spot? it's for a diaper raw kasi. 2 year supply kaya ng diaper yun? hehe... mahal na kasi nappies ngayon... anyway sana ma enlighten ako about this thingie kasi natatakot pa rin kasi ako expose yun kids ko especially makita sila sa tv or print ads. Pros and Cons Please? Thanks in Adv

Hi mommy syella. Welcome to Stagemom corner! Regarding sa Dole, pros and cons ng kiddie modeling backread kayo. We already discussed it here sa thread...

Start here:

<http://www.smartparenting.com.ph/parentchat/index.php?topic=12775.30>

Well, after ng VTR file, you'll wait until you get a call/txt from your agent to attend a VTR (go-see). What happens during the VTR, they'll just take photos of your baby wearing diapers and sometimes, they'll let you introduce the baby tapos carry mo yung baby. Ang mahirap lang sa babies, they get cranky easily. Expect an SRO senario with 80 to 100 babies a day. Swerte pag konti lang.

Normally, your agent will txt you 2 to 3 days if you're in for the final casting. My youngest, Justine, was 3 weeks when he was called for a VTR for unilab. After 3 days, we received a txt that he's for final casting. From there... konti nalang kayo dyan - mga 3 to 5 babies maglalaban. Depende kasi sa storyboard. Usually dapat hawig ni baby yung mommy. Minsan they get two babies kasi yung isa fallback naman incase the supposedly lead baby gets a tantrum, may papalit agad.

Justine was one of the cast of the tvc. SOP na yung DOLE permit, medical certificate, seminar from DOLE. You can't get a DOLE kung walang project/contract. Untrue yung you can walk in and apply for a DOLE for the sake na meron ka.

Wala pa akong narinig na in kind (like lifetime supply of diapers) as mode of payment or perks. I remembered my daughter, Nathalie, bought home a lot of burgers and chicken joy from her Jollibee Kid's meal shoot. Not allowed yun pero in that case pina uwi nalang kasi medyo bago pa yung food.

Madami Pros... madami din cons. Sometimes mas madami pa nga ang cons if you force your kid to expose on an early age. Di maiiwasan kasing mapagalitan, masigawan, mainitan, mapagod ang bata. I think modeling should be discussed with your spouse and your kids if they are indeed willing to take a shot (and willing to accept rejection as well). Well the good thing naman, makakapag start ng savings ang bata kasi - ok naman ang makatanggap ng TF. Another is nakaka boost up din ng self esteem and confidence.  ;)

Post by: syella on June 28, 2010, 03:25:13 pm
hhmm... i guess rin kasi its better to expose rin kahit bata pa kasi at least nakakakita ng tao unlke yun isang daughter ko, since full time mom ako we just stayed home the whole day until her dad arrives from work. So the only thing we do since I gave birth to her watch tv and the 4 corners of the room yun lang nakikita namin since we dont usually go to the mall kasi magulo rin. so she ended up being mahiyain pero now ok na sya.

wow may TF pala yan? akala ko minimum wage then free Nappies. hehe... hhmm how much is the TF ba usually? ano range nun? wow makaka school na siya sa adm in the near future..

Back read ka sis so you'll get a better understanding sa child modelling... Good Luck!

Question to those working, or has direct connection with agencies, eto po yung laging question ng mga Stagemoms like us. Is there a way a talent can get directly get into your project without going through VTRs and such?

1) If the client directly requests for you. (i.e. Client A likes that kid in the Camella homes ad, so we ask for Chacha directly na from her agent)

2) Spot or Rush casting. We backtrack from all our past TVC talents which fit the required look and age. We send the setcards and profile shots to the client, director or producer for approval. This happens when the TVC project is shot the next day or when a talent backs out in the middle of pre-production or a sudden need for a talent with a specific look arises and wala ng time mag-casting.  :)

But this doesn't happen all the time, VTRs are required talaga for final casting (at least pre-selected na from the current lot). We don't like surprises kasi that's why we always have VTRs (surprises meaning braces, sudden change in weight, moles, scars, voice inflections/heavy accents, change in hairstyles, change in skin tones, etc etc.)
:)

YES and NO mommy Jazz.

1. Yes, First if you're the son or daughter or relative of the client (based at our experienced with one TVC and print ad - lahat ng talents anak ng mga talent) Usually budget ang issue nila dyan kaya direct nila kinukuha ang bata (mas makaka save sila). Yun lang ang pwedeng mag direct hiring. There was one TVC (abroad) na nakapasok si Nat (Boeng 748) pero tita kasi niya isa sa client. Request sya.

2. No, all talents are requested to attend castings. Again, hindi totoo ang palakasan system. Sometimes kahit nga sa casting may pre-selection pa (we call it "line-up") bago namin ipasok sa VTR. Like what mommycow said, kailangan updated ang VTR (file) ng kids - especially babies, kasi madalas nagbabago sila physically. At the end of the day, si client parin ang may final say  ;)

nice to be back here at SP...

Please be guided lang po, in joining the NIDO 3+ digital billboard promo...

For beginners ( stagemom) at ang gusto po ay simple exposure ng kiddos, walang conflict, OK po mag join sa contest ng NIDO... sino ba naman di gusto magka exposure and kids natin kahit saglit lang, lalo pa yun napakalaking BILLBOARD nun that everyone passing by could see in 1o seconds yata rotating in 2hours per designated area...

Pero sa stagemoms na gusto po ng better exposure, i suggest not to join the NIDO... i have joined my son dun pero na pull out ko rin agad right after na send ko yung entry, bago pa nila ma post... i was informed kasi by some mommies na meron pala yung LOCKOUT for one year, it was stated in their policy... meaning you cannot endorse your child to any milk product for a period of one year, including TV commercials & print ads... take note po, free po ang exposure ng kids dun ( walang TF, just a simple exposure)... kung sa tingin nyo me talent ang kids nyo, sayang naman po yung opportunity kung ipagpapalit nyo yung one year na oportunity na possible makakuha ka ng better projects for milk, compare sa 10secs na exposure... meron din pong agent nagsabi na kapag lockout ka sa milk, di ka rin pwede sa vitamins at juices... sayang naman...

The information was confirmed to me by NESTLE via hotline... bago ko po pull out yung entry, clarify ko muna sa kanila yung mechanics, at yun nga po, me LOCKOUT nga daw... at first akala ko kasi yung lockout dun ang ibig sabihin lang, yung photo entry mo di pwedeng isend sa ibang contest na may same product line ( any milk) gaya ng common mechanics ng photo contest,,, at dapat yung photo entry mo, wala rin sa photo gallery mo sa facebook, so yung photo entry only for NIDO lang talaga dapat, kaso yun nga pati daw yung VTR for milk, di pwede...

But then, it's always our choice, share ko lang naman yung info na alam ko, whether it's true yung info nabigay sa akin mismo ng nestle ( 2 beses pa sila tumawag sa akin to confirm after my inquiry) or not, me option po tayo... and it's my decision na pull out ko na lang anyway marami pa naman contest na masasalihan...

Hi JV, welcome to stagemom! di naman every month. every 6 months is ok na. May iba, pag babies, 3 months. Of course depende sa availability nyo.

hi mga mommies, hubby and i are exploring the possibility of getting our baby into ads. we've been approached a couple of times na when we would go out and we've said we'll think about it. my hubby kasi does not like calling attention to himself, kaya lang laging nababati ang anak niya pag lumalabas kami, he gets freaked out by the attention. so sabi niya, what more pag nilabas sa ads si baby. parang scary daw yung thought. we're both unsure as of this time kasi we were thinking he might be too young. is there a right time and age to get your kid into modeling and the like? thanks mommies!  :)

Hi MsDowny! Sorry na di napansin agad inquiry mo.  :)

May mga babies as young as 1 month na nagkaka ads na. Depende kasi sa parents din if they are comfortable and ready na mag "work" ang bata. Kung may lumapit naman na agent and he thinks na may potential ang bata/baby, give it a try!

Personally, the right age is 6 yo up kasi di na masyado matantrum ang bata sa age na yan. Not all casters, production people and directors has the virtue of patience.

Tama ang suggestion ni zimple_mom. for a start, try joining contests. Maraming online baby contest (try seach Baby Contest thread sa SP). Sa FB naman, there's Kids and Babies, Moms and Babies, Nido etc. Check nyo lang muna ang mechanics before joining. Yung Nido kasi may Lock-out period. She was able to contact Nestle Nido for clarifications kasi regarding sa lock-out.

Backread kayo mga mommie. May mga discussions kami regarding child modeling:

kat and gee (zmple mom) are correct mrs downey. i too wanted to be a stagemom even when AK was 1yo. i became a member here in SP 1yo na sya and i found a lot of opportunities here. dito ko nakakita ng mga okay na VTR agencies. so far nakakakuha naman si AK sa prints. nagstart din sa contests, halos lahat nagjjoin kami kase sympre, nanay eh! hehe i wouldn't say na may narating na si AK compared sa mga stagemoms' kids dito like kat, yetsky, mhellai, pero yung mga nakuha ni AK until she was 3 last june, eh super accomplished nako. she's not into commercials pa. let's see. hehe uupdate ko pa yung mga VTR files niya. last time she had was 1yo pa sya.

sorry napakwento. pero ang sinasabi ko lang, we can all start small naman. if makajackpot ng big project, nice. pero kung wala, it's okay. wag magsawa. consider this all out fun while our kids are growing kaya dapat walang pressure.

@tiny-little_mom
Sa Agency mismo na kung san mo ipapasok ang anak mo, they will make a portfolio (picture and video file) of your child. There are small agencies which does not have a facility for pictorial, nanghihingi nalang sila ng setcard sa iyo. Freelance agents do this.

As usual, papahubarin sya with diaper naman. Sa na observe ko sa baby ko, the best mag pa file pag bagong gising at tapos na kumain si baby para good mood and fresh sya. Me kasi, days before the VTR, nagre-rehearsals kami - pinapasanay sa flash si baby para di magulat sa actual. Try nyo din sya sa baby nyo.

@ Momi Keih - yeah, Share din ako - I remember AK being the cover of Baby Minders last year tapos si Nat naman sa Growing Kids! Imagine hanggang ngayon nasa bookstores pa ang books nila. Minsan pumunta ako ng powerbooks to buy the whole set since yung complimentary copies ko napadala ko sa province, ubus na daw! Daming SP babies and kids nakasali doon sa Baby Minders! Hala! anak to ni mare ha...  ;D

Nakakatawa kasi tayo tayo din ang nag co-congratulate each other! Pag talo sa isa, try uli sa iba.

Panapanahon nga yan eh. Talents come and go.

I collect photos of the kids and make our own portfolio/clearbook. Minsan kasi pag may go see ng apparel naghahanap sila ng portfolio or photos. Bitbit namin sya tapos pinapakita nalang sa client yun. Also parang personal album/collection of photos na din namin yung portfolio.

Nahuli ako sa pag reply ha! Kaso you can't force the little one to trust strangers agad or else magiging traumatic sa kanya ang VTR. hinay hinay lang. Sinasama nyo ba si baby sa mall? How about pinapa carry nyo ba sya sa ibang relatives and friends? Try to take a lot of pictures of your baby everyday - with flash of course. Make a studio like set-up sa isang room and mag practice kayo ng 30 mins. Tapos try give him rewards, shower him with a lot of praises like "Ang Gwapo/Ganad mo!", "Very good", "Well done kiddo!" syempre if he constantly hear praises magaganado sya and he'll look forward magpa photo uli. Just remember na hinay hinay lang sa pag prectice and pag expose sa mga ganitong stuff. He's still a baby, you know.  ;)

JVcav - don't worry. masasay din sya at magiging confident sya in due time. Don't rush lang, you'll see. At saka baby pa naman sya, still a long way to go pa. Meanwhile, enjoy muna tayo habang mga babies pa sila!

MrsDowney - we'll answer your quiries naman as long kaya namin sagutin. Madaming stagemoms dito na I'm sure open naman mag share ng experiences and ideas.

^ di pa nag-commercials si AK, prints lang. for ex, napili lang sya sa baby minder to cover the book. tapos yung ibang magazines napili lang din sya makasama sa mga articles nila. tyagaan kase hahanapin mo talaga mga opportunities, dito marami, pag may nagsabi send ng photo send ka lang. hehe

though VTR agencies talaga work for some. kaya ipa-VTR mo din. atleast they have your kid's file.

Encourage your child and give her the support she needs sa school, be co-curricular or extra-curricular activities.

Wala naman pong sinabi kung kailangan single. Try to contact the person stated above para malaman kung ano talaga ang requirements...

Modeling 101: 5 Steps to preparing for Child Modeling

If your child has shown interest and you’d like to get him involved, now is the time to learn five of the most basic steps to prepare for child modeling.

Step One: Knowing Whether Your Child Is Camera Ready

Knowing whether your child is “came...ra ready” encompasses much more than just your child’s physical appearance. All children are beautiful, but not all children are cut out for modeling.

Maybe your child will enjoy the kind of attention he’ll receive during a photo shoot or on a commercial set, and maybe he won’t. Perhaps your child is a natural in front of the camera, and perhaps he’s shy. These are the kinds of things you must think about when determining whether your child is camera ready. Keep in mind, of course, that your child will help you figure it out!

Step Two: Securing Quality Agency Representation

There are scams involved with every kind of business, and you have to be careful not to get caught up shady agents and organizations once you and your child are ready to enter the world of child modeling. Despite the fact that children are involved, there are deceptive and underhanded people out there who will try to lure you in with “get rich quick” or “get famous quick” schemes.

Remember that you are dealing with a child – your child – and that you must do business with quality, reputable agency representation.

Step Three: Learning How To Get The Booking

When your child model is “booked” for a gig, it means he or she has been officially chosen as the model for a particular photo shoot or commercial. Of course, plenty of steps – such as securing agency representation, preparing a portfolio, and finding casting calls – must go into making sure your child has a good shot at getting booked.

Step Four: Understanding How To Prepare For The Photo Shoot

When it comes to preparing your child for a child modeling photo shoot, you’ll need to think about:

* Your child’s physical appearance.
* What you’ll be responsible for bringing to the shoot.
* What will be provided for you and your child at the shoot.
* Talking with your child about what will happen.

Step Five: Knowing What To Expect On The Shoot Day

Professional people in the child modeling business will help you prepare for, and know what to expect, on the day of a photo shoot; of course, that doesn’t mean you should know the right questions to ask before you arrive.

Too, aside from what happens during the actual child modeling photo shoot, you need to know what to expect both before and after the shoot, such as how the day will start at home and what will happen once the shoot is over.

Once you have a pretty good handle on everything that will happen on the day of a shoot, make sure you discuss it with your child. Even though he’s embarking on an exciting adventure, the unknown can be a scary thing for him. Explain to your child what will happen and encourage him to ask you questions about anything he doesn’t understand.

Yes Mommy Tamara, bad nga sila. I always say, walang perfect na agency. What's good about this incident and I firmly advise this to Moms of kid talents: keep a copy of the contract and agreement form. This form has the names of the client, the Marketing people in charge of the project/shoot, the agency with the agency rep's name and signature fixed, the date of shoot, TF amt and some even state when the payment will be ready. When I was given the run-around, I called the client (the marketing person on the contract), explained my side that the agent can't be traced. She was understanding enough to furnish me a copy of the payment form.
I emailed the owner for the 4th time at dinerecho ko na siya. "maayos naman po akong kausap. If someone will only reply to me stating the cause of the delay of payment, I would understand. Not replying to my follow-up in the past 6 months gives me the belief that I'm being ripped -off by your agency. I would like to discuss this professionally but your secretary denies me your address and tel no."

The Agency finally replied to me asking how I have such infos when the client didn't pay them. I have all the proof. I make sure I am equiped for the battle. I'm no ordinary Stage Mother. Professional ako in attitude, in dealing with the agent, the client, in workshops, in taking rejections, in helping and getting along with other stage mothers and in keeping my papers organized.

So I advise all Stagemoms like me, always get a copy of the contract and get the check as soon as it's due. I did not join this business for money so I was not eager to get paid. Ayan tuloy.

hi mga mommies and congrats sa mga successful models na babies niyo. share ko lang exp ko nung nag extra and nga momodel pa ako i just stop year 2008 kasi na wala yung phone ko and all my contacts are in there

well nung nag eextra ako sa tv episodes i preferred gma7 than abs-cbn why?
i started doing extras sa home along the airport na yun ee pero 1 time lang yun kasi im going to the comfort room ng may tumawag talent scout daw siya and if gusto ko daw umextra as i remeber i am only 14 years old so gora pirma contract biodata so from10am nasa studio lang kami shoot ng 2 scenes again waiting and im totally hungry and pag kumain ako mawawalan ako pamasahe. since naalalako na may bayad nga pala yung ginagawa ko kumain ako. 8pm change location kami i notice kasama ko pa yung mga talents pero yung manger wala na so saan ko kukunin yung money i ask the other talents kung kanino ko kukunin yung money ko and i was shocked and almost cry when thy told me na
"ay yung talent fee? naka payroll yun every 15 and 30 mo lang makukuha" nanlambot ako and nag isip ng gagawin kung pano ako makakauwi so to divert my worries i just try to focus on the scenes hanggang sa pack up na luckily yung ibang talent nag walkaton hanggang edsa kaya nakisaby na ako this was my unforgettable exp dahil all my life di ko naimagine na makakapag 1,2,3 ako sa mga jeep para lang makuwi! AHAHAHA  then di ko inulit un. 6 months after i was with my friend in cubao never heard na talent din siya then nakilala ako ng mngr. niya and offer me to do some extras in commercial's and  teleseyes's after what happen to me in abs i got trauma sa tottoo lang hehe then i told tia beth the story and told me na more o gma ang ibibigay niya so i go and try it for the 2nd time and it was terrific i got the wlking part stand by etc. and i got my money after the last proj i made year 2005 which is dpt main stay na me dun but i choose to go to malaysia with my band so year 2005 encantadia was my last extra project. cameback 2006 started back again until nov 2007 and my last extra proj was green paradise starring cristine reyes and andrew shimmer. it was fun kasi most of the cast friendsko in personplus among all the talents ako lang nakakuha ng mataas na bayad so solve solve na ako focus n lang konti sa mga fashion shows etc.
 ;D

so now that i have an adorable and very charming prince who makes my heart beats fast i want him to start with modeling career habang baby pa. it will help him in so many ways. ;)

Is he pay worth the time and effort? Is it like modelling/going to VTRs na kailangan mag leave sa work for that day of shoot or dapat full time? Sorry daming tanong. I always wonder kasi how life of a cast-member is.

standby, and passbyers 350-450         for movies 500 to 800
with atleast 1 line na dialog 500-600               / 700 - 800
expose more than 5 mins a
nd has a line 800 stable                                    /1k -1500
lagi ka nag sasalita andd nakikita
sa mga scenes (main stay kana)  1k per day    /min of 2k per day

Thanks mommy Jazz for your advice ;D
I'm so happy when my daughter joined the modeling contest in SM. It was fulfilling eventhough hindi kami napili to be one of the model my daughter was only 3 yrs. old when she joined this contest.  Yes, that's correct "Patience is a virtue"  ;D nakakapagod maging stage mom. Pero sana next time makasama na ang baby ko kahit sa commercial or extras sa TCV ;)

OK ang modelshop. OK ang manager, yung 1 staff is not professional. You don't have to deal with her often anyway. I am not  happy with modelshop because of her so I left when my daughter's contract expired. However, I have met other Moms of kid models, even teen and adult models who are OK with them. They have a good standing among modelling agencies.

hi sis...legit po yan. It's another event produced by Innovision Entertainment. My son joined their last event which is the Batang  Pinoy Superheroes. I actually posted 2 photos here. It is actually one good way to expose your child to modeling. He was also able to enhance his social skills since there were loads of other babies who joined there. Take  a look at this photo which was taken by the official photographer of the event:

Hi.. anyone knows or familiar with " D' MASTER'S UPPER ROOM PRODUCTION INC." ?

Last time na nasa airport kami ni baby sa waiting area, meron pumansin sa akin at pwede raw sa commercial model si baby, she asked me kung ano na age ni baby, that time kasi wala pa syang 1 year old, kaya sabi niya pag nag 1 year old nlang daw si baby tapos binigyan niya ako ng calling card, ito nga yung name ng production, tapos ang name niya ay Thelma Cruz- Lapena..

Thanks  :)

we went there sa innovision last saturday and good thing hindi nasayang effort namin mag ina. My son made it to join their upcoming show, though alanganin na daw sa age niya ang baby category , & too young pa sa little angel, we just decided na puwede siya sumali pero hanggang special awards lang, since technically dapat hindi pa sita qualified..ok na din since exposure & pag enhance ng self confidence ang gusto ko makita sa son ko..i was surprise after 1 yr na pag stop sa pagpunta sa vtr, this time hindi ako pinagpawisan sa screening :) my son was able to pose & feeling ko si mr photographer na ang napagod sa pagkuha ng shots..ibang iba when we had our vtr before sa mga agencies na kailangan effort talaga sa pagpapatawa..big boy na talaga si baby ko..hopefully magtulol tuloy na..thanks kay sir raymond for accomodating us.. :)

Good day! We are very much interested na maging print model ang two year old daughter ko kaya lang she's a bit shy to other people and she doesn't like na hinahawakan sya ng iba, pero pag dating sa picture taking game na game sya..

Question lang po.. When we enter this kind of industry pwede po bang ma-limit lang sa prints ang salihan ng baby ko? Paano po yung VTR? I don't think makikipag-cooperate sya sa ganun pero pag pinag-pose sya or basta may camera ok sya, sa start po ba talagang i-re-require na magpa-VTR kahit na sa prints lang kami interested? Hindi pa sya ready for TVC but for print ads I can sense na malaki na potential niya.. Thanks.. :)

gym16, Get an agent pa rin. Your child will still be VTRd by your agent for their file. Then tell your agent to call you only for print projects.

For a modellling workshops, meron talagang fee yon. Workshop can enhance a child's talent but not a requirement to get an agent. Once you get an agent, you can get VTRd for products and go to go-sees (like an audition) for product TVCs and print. Many hopefuls believe that attending workshop can increase their chance in getting picked to be the lead or part player for an endorsement. This is not 100% true.

Get your kid into whatever kind of workshop or summer class you know they will enjoy and help their development. Not because you want them to end up on TV the soonest possible time. Just note that the people behind the workshop has a good background in the industry, are professionals and has a good program. See to it that they have lectures on how to build up confidence, improve their talent, teach them how to walk, pause and project, smile at a crowd and follow directions and cues. At the end of a workshop, there's always a fashion show, the most exciting part.

My statement below is my personal opinion. I am not convincing everyone who reads it to believe the same.

About the lil supermodels, I  checked their faceboook and the agency and production behind it. I haven't heard of them before. I have seen better adult models in other agencies, I am not impressed (oops, opinion ko lang yon, aware that It's nobody's obligation that I should be) with the model portfolio they have shown on the agency's FB. Yung kid models, napaka konti pa for me to gauge. The production agency's FB portfolio is OK to me though I haven't heard of them. I don't know if the owner is related with Victor Rio, an agency in Ortigas with good (but not perfect, nobody is) standing. What I mean by "I haven't heard of them" is simply that. There are maybe dozens of other agencies old and new I haven't heard of. I'm not  an expert. I'm not even an agent or hold any position in this industry. Please don't think that I mean to put them down. I can not say if they are legit or not. It is good that this is always asked. Anyone interested can check with DTI or visit the modelling agency's office to see if they have a permit displayed.

Pampanga lang ba yung lil supermodels?

Good day mga mommies!

Recently ni-refer yung baby ko sa isang photo shoot as a child model  for a family planning campaign.

Moms, can you give me some advice regarding child modelling and may mga bago po bang model search for toodlers.

I just seen this thread, I know I am so late. Haha. I've been in this site one month pa lang si baby paula and now she's two and a half. Lagi kasi ako nsa marketplace, anyways, I find this thread so interesting since my daughter is also trying to make her way to the stardom. Haha. A lot of people say she's a headturner (maybe because of her hair). Well si paula kasi got a nice mix of filipina, indian and african.

Once me and momie edith (tamara's mom) tried mossimo casting. Its was so far though, kasi we came all the way from QC and the set is at alabang town center. It took us all day kasi travel time and there's a lot of agencies in line sa set. It was worth it for me cause my daughter got two stamp, means she can have a VTR with two agencies. We are now waiting for calls para sa mga projects.

I was just thinking na, it could be better kung mas madami kami mpuntahan na agencies para mas more opportunities, diba. I hope mommies here, we can help each other to put our kids on spotlight. :)

Mommie Princess here. :)

Unica Hija: nkoo mommie, syempre naman! It depends kasi sa product and concept ng project. For example sa tv ads, diba hndi naman lahat ng models eh maganda or gwapo, like yung commercial ng EO. Dapat lang talaga matyaga tyo. :)

Actually ito ang trend noon. Today, there is still a high demand for foreign looking kids, pero mas madami na ang casting in need of Pinoy looking, In fact, marami na kaming castings na hindi sinipot kasi sa look pa lang, "talo" na ang daughter ko. Though she's Pinoy, mas marami ang batang mas mukhang pinoy sa kaniya, mas bibo pa and fluent in tagalog. The only way to find out casting in need of Pinoy looking kid talent is to get an agent.

My daughter is under Nephite Productions right now. The only requirement they've asked me to accomplish is to submit photos of my daughter every six months. We already joined some casting calls and still waiting for our luck to find us.  :) I'm thinking of checking other agencies though.

Hi mommies! i just want to have your advice too.. Last 2 sundays ago, my son who's 3.6 years old, and I was approached by a lady who said she's from Liahona Agency and invited us for VTR. I searched on the net for any negative article Liahona, but found none (as far as ive checked), so we went to their office last sunday. After the VTR, they said they'll contact us.. I received an sms saying that my son passed the vtr and to contact them, so I did. They said my son is now considered as one of their talents and there's an option for me to enroll him to their workshop, but for a fee. What's your say on this po? Does that mean he has an talent agent na? Anyone of you mommies who has worked with Liahona? i would appreciate your advice! Thanks!  And cheers to us all, stage Moms!  ;)

@Mom2Eliam, check out my blog. Inaway na ako ng scout ng Liahona once for thinking I am a competitor agent. My blog covers:

I was told by a talent scout that my child should undergo a workshop under their agency.

Some modelling agencies offer workshops for their talents. This is with fee. Again, ask your kid if he/she is interested, don't force it on them. Modelling workshop, like other summer activities like sports or theater can greatly improve a child's talent.  Just make sure that the class is handled by an instructor with good background in acting and theater and a good workshop scope so your kid can benefit from it for his future. As of now, there is still a greater number of kids who appeared on TVCs who didn't take any workshop than those who did. Besides, the talent will be given a workshop by the production agency the day before the commercial shooting. What we're discussing here however, is workshop to improve a kid's talent so he can be chosen for the project, not when he is already chosen.

Workshops does not guarantee that your child will get the part. It also doesn't come cheap. My advice to first time stage parents is to give your child a feel of what this industry is.Do not commit to a workshop yet. Get any agency that does not offer workshop and no exclusivity. Your kid will still experience getting VTRd, attend go-sees and all. Practice makes perfect. Don't expect that you'll get the gold on your 1st, 2nd, even 3rd casting. Try coaching him yourself.

if your child is really up to auditioning, then have someone to accompany you when going there.

pov ko lang, if they ask money, then it's a scam.  you are there to audition, not to pay them for watching your child.

Actually, maganda para sa kin yung nag-aundergo ng workshop coz I have attended their seminar. Madedevelop yung skills ng bata makipagsocialize.

Sa case nung nephew ko, kasi talagang mahiyain, sayang tuloy yung down niya for the workshop kasi bawal talaga yung mommies sa loob eh nag-iiyak yung bata sa 2 sessions na ipinunta niya dun. Try mo mommy, wala namang mawawala.  :D

@wyndang,
Some agencies have exclusivity talaga. What I know about star horizon is they sometimes hold fashion shows and they hold a workshop for this (for a  fee). What I don't know is if the workshop is a regular thing or just when they have an upcoming event. Your reply letter doesn't seem to mention a paid workshop but their website does. Please check if their exclusivity meant taking their workshop or if management priority will be given to those who took it.  I like them for making it clear that they don't charge any fee. Their website is also impressive while some agencies don't have a website at all. Dati akala ko Star Horizon is connected with ABS-CBN pero hindi pala but still, with their events and publicity, they have made a name for themselves din kahit bago lang sila.
I mentioned on my blog (please check my signature below) about exclusivity, what points to consider. Let me give you a short pointers (just check my blog for the full version :))

When signing for exclusivity, see to it that
-the agency is good, has good feedbacks, good standing and legitimate. You may google for feedbacks and check with DTI (if in doubt) if they are legit
-has successfully managed kid talents (note: some agencies take credit for the success of their talents when these kids are already successful as freelance talents before signing under their management).
-their contract doesn't require much on your part (like a compulsory workshop)
-check if the staff of the agency is professional and you can get along with. See what 1st  impression the office and staff gives you and if they can nicely answer any question you have.
-if they can give you exclusivity for 6 months. This is to test their waters kasi if you find out you don't like them, you're stuck with them for 1 year (the usual length of a contract). In case 1 year or longer ang exclusivity and you are not happy, may paraan pa naman. You can personally get in touch with the agency manager, air your side (like you're not happy with the way your child is being managed or the school prohibits their students from getting into modelling) and ask for the remaining period of the contract be terminated.

On your part, ask yourself if you are ready and can keep up with the demands of VTRs. If you want to test and see how this industry goes, you can always get a different agency who doesn't require exclusivity. Check my blog for agency listing, give each a call and ask if they require exclusivity o pwede freelance. Not that I'm discouraging you to make your child exclusive or sign him/her under Star Horizon. Feel ko kasi nakakahiya din naman for the agency kung mahihirapan lang sila ng kaka-contact sayo or if you're not up to the demands of being a stage mother.

Update us, good luck!

@mommyJQ, I'm sure your daughter had fun. Tama na rin yung ma experience niya kahit once to model and know that she has the potential and is good at it. If both father and daughter doesn't want to take it seriously, that's OK. The industry will always be there and at the right time and age, pwede niyang balikan yan.

Title: Re: All about Baby/Child Modelling
Post by: Mommy Jazz on November 09, 2011, 02:20:21 pm
Maliban nalang kung mag i-suggest ang agency na i-workshop ang bata with them (this is for a fee) but then, optional pa rin yon. If you think your child has the talent and can follow instructions, don't fall for agencies saying na mahiyain ang anak mo when you know he's not. Maybe they say this so you will avail of their workshop. Ang magiging cost on your part is travelling to the VTR venue (usually Makati) and time (taking leave off work to accompany your child).

@aian, most agencies accept infants kasi they can never tell when an infant model is needed. You just need to update your agency with a new photo of the baby every 6 months kasi nagbabago ang hitsura nila. Kid models are more in demand than baby models so don't fret if you rarely get a call from your agent.

@MommyjazzMusta na?Long time no see and talk na tayo...

It started when my eldest had his first commercial and print-ads with Promil... he was 5 months old and that was way back in 2005. Then nagsusunod-sunod tvcs, extra at teleseryes, tv series then ramp and print-ads.
With my middle child and my bunso hindi ko naaasikaso vtrs nila...  :( super busy si mommy ngayon... pero it's such a great experience diba mga stage mommies??? It's one of those things that makes us even more proud.  :D

kasama baby boy ko sa batang pinoy superheroes may fee yung pictorial nila but makukuha naman yung copies sa cd pati yung best pictures may copy rin then may mga nakaframe pa na ibibigay then sa contest need namin kumuha ng 5 sponsors 50 percent goes to the agency then other 50 goes to the kid.....yung mga sponsors na makukuha eh ilalagay sa mga posters yung name nila, i-aanounce during the finals then pag medyo malaki yung sponsorship kasama din sila mailalagay sa newspaper...sm malls ang major partner nila kaya sa skydome yung finals....share ko lang po!

during screening, nahihiya talaga baby ko pero kahit ganun nakasama naman sya sa contest i hope makahingi ako ng support sa mga sp moms sa voting on dec 10-17........

@CallcenterMom, Nephite is like Liahona. They will encourage you to have your child undergo workshop for a fee. They once had a bad publicity (showed on TV) about charging their talents, yun nga yung tungkoll sa workshop. Alam ko dinemanda nila yung show for not giving a balanced report kasi hindi naman daw pinipilit yon. Ewan ko lang kung natuloy ang demanda. I have a friend who had her son signed under Nephite. After a year nagka break din ang anak niya as part of a family model for a billboard. It was through the mother's effort of getting in touch with other agents, Nephite has nothing to do with it. Nephite alam ko, is owned by a former That's Entertainment talent. To workshop or not, please read my blog nalang po, nasa signature ko.

@Wyndang, wala pa akong balita. Hopefully may mag share ng names ng winners.

@mommymitchm., All agencies naman acceptss baby models. Kelangan lang lagi mong update file niya sa agency because they change looks quick as they grow up. Although meron talagang projects para sa mga babies, konti lang yon at mas madami pa rin ang para sa mga kids so don't fret if you don't get a call from your agent.
Please check my blog for agency listing and how to get babies into modelling.

Daughter ko wants to go back into modelling. I'm torn between calling her former small time scout (who got her good projects), or signing her exclusively with an established agency na hindi ko pa kilala ang mga staff.  :-\

You may want to check my answer sa blog ko - http://nanayjam.blogspot.com/2012/01/risks.html (http://nanayjam.blogspot.com/2012/01/risks.html).. for me, mahirap...if you really have time para sa VTRs, that's good.

Nag-Nephite din yung daughter ko. Unfortunately, I was not able to submit updated pics. But prior to that she had done 2 VTRs na for a food commercial daw. She's not good in tagalog when she auditioned but she mastered the way of saying "hmmm, sarap. gusto mo, try mo!".  :) We are still waiting for luck to hit us. I hope you can share other agencies na trusted and has good reputation. I tried mommyjazz's suggestion regarding sending pics via email. But I guess kelangan din ng sipag ng mommy na mag update ng pics. Hopefully by March, I'll find time na. Very timely rin kasi at wala ng school by then. Good luck to all of us.  ;)

Ay, that would be up to you. When my daughter turmed 5 and she kept loosing her milk teeth, her agent insisted that she wears false teeth, sayang daw kasi ang opportunity. I decided I don't have to since OK na kami sa mga naging projects niya.
Think about it. Kung OK lang sa anak niyo at siya ang may gusto, then go. Make sure he's comfortable with it and that hindi halata sa smile niya na naka dentures pala siya.

Alam po ninyo, joining contests is fun pero madamng hassle and it's a competition. It's hard lalo na pag nakita mong madaming mixed race na mas preferred as fashion models and you know na hindi naman pang concert or show ang talent ng anak mo. the easy way in getting into modelling is to walk-in and sign your child as a talent of a modelling agency.
How can I get in touch with Agencies? (http://stagemothercornerph.wordpress.com/2013/05/02/how-to-get-your-kid-into-commercial-modelling/)

pashare..
my baby Yona is finalist in Innovision's search for Metro Manila's Cutest Baby, she just turned 2 last April.
Sobrang saya sa pakiramdam lalo na during her pictorial dahil nasa mood ang baby ko na magpapic.
Looking forward for the grand event.

I received a msg sa FB ng kid around midweek of May. Sabi napili daw yung baby ko for a casting call.

Syempre excited ako so i texted this girl (Ms.mavic), sabi niya shes a talent scout from (chan2). Sabi din niya, para daw wag ng mag-undergo ng workshop ang kid ko kailangan ng "network permit", sabi niya I can get one from Tv5 or kahit saang network if merong kakilala na willing maglakad ng papers.

sabi niya nakaline up daw yung kid ko for 2 projects kc yung director mismo ang nakakita ng pic ng kid ko.
-so the exchange of msg went on i told her wala nga ako malalapitan for this network permit

Mavic then referred me to another person (ms.nitz) na pwedi magbigay ng permit but have to pay 5,500.

i called nitz, and she asked me some few basic info. Sabi niya, since nasa work daw siya, she will work it out to a messenger para marelease agad yung permit and makapag start na ang kid ko for the pictorial.
sabi nung Nitz, magpadala lang daw kami ng bayad thru LBC or cebuana address to their manager (Mr.arnulfo) she also provide the address of this person.

Since i was at work that time, i asked my aunt to check sa TV5 if meron silang ganong lakaran. or if someone named nitz or arnulfo works with them.

My Aunt went to tv5 and she spoke to the guard, and sabi ng guard wala daw ganoon sa kanila. sabi din nung guard, his been working with tv5 for more than 15years and hindi niya kilala yung mga involved na tao..
my aunt also went to abs to check if legit talent scount ba ang mga eto but wala sila sa list ng abs.

etong mavic, she still keeps on texting me, saying na sayang kung hindi matuloy yung casting ng kid ko. kahit daw kalahati lang muna ng bayad padala ko.

she also told me na nagalit at nagtatampo daw etong nitz kasi nilakad na niya yung papers ng kid ko, ngbayad pa ra eto ng 1,500 para sa permit pero hindi ako nagpadala ng bayad.

i asked  mavic  if pwedi ba kami magkita. sabi niya di daw pwedi kc nasa work siya. sabi niya din nasa location site daw sila sa shooting ng maalaala mo kaya the movie.

i told her i can drop by naman sa location site nila since my sasakyan naman kami. i told her we are just making sure na legit bago kami magbigay ng money.

^Sounds like a scam nga. Should anything like this happen, get the name of their agency or company. Kung claiming to be from a network, tama po yung ginawa ninyo to check with the office pero it would be best to give that office a call through their trunkline.
Sana yung iba pa nilang maloloko will be as smart as you. Sana magkaron ng entrapment operation.

mommy jazz actually i was thinking of sending you msg if you know anything about a network permit  :)

to all the mommies out there. kung gusto nyo talaga si baby maging model, always be cautious sa mga mag offer, wag maxado maexcite pra hind tau ma loko. I remember few years ago, my dad's friend's grand daughter was offered a Shampoo Commercial, and asking for 1000 pesos VTR fee. (There's no such thing!) now the girl is 12 years old and never got any exposures or projects. Observe your child if he or she has what it takes to be a model, because let's face the fact that not every child has qualities to be one. Maybe you need more time and patience. 2nd was, there was a famous talent agency here in Rizal too. They offer their agency to handle their kids and the next thing you know, you find yourself selling tickets for the contests and fashion shows for their kids (again... there's no such thing!) When a talent agency asked for money, you have to doubt it. DTI, BIR etc... are really easy to have. That doesn't mean it's legitimate. My son's agency don't have a catchy website or anything, but they always have castings. like everyday. They keep their agency very private and exclusive. They don't even just welcome random people to send pictures to them. They are the ones looking for the talents with no charges. They have qualifications and even ask the parents to get DOLE for their children. And they always keep in touch. sana makatulong lahat ng advice ko.   (sorry super haba po) if you have more questions, you may send me a message.

Last week, habang naglalakad kami sa Megamall may lumapit sa amin from talent agency. Binigyan niya ako ng calling card and kinuha niya rin yung number ko para itext niya ko for an invitation para sa VTR ng son ko.

Then last Sunday, pinuntahan namin yung place.

Nagpicture daw sila and pinakanta siya.

Gwapo daw kasi, telegenic and maganda yung teeth. Yun nga lang medyo out of focus pa daw. So sabi sa akin kung gusto daw namin enroll for workshop para sa personality development. Included sa workshop yung acting, dancing and modeling for 8 sessions (2 hours every weekends) for 4500.

My question is worth it ba i-workshop yung anak ko?

Any idea sisses? Makatulong ba talaga yung workshop for possible commercials or waste of time lang? Thanks :)

Hi Sis, I know that one, kasi pumunta din kami dyan before, sa may Makati. Same na same yung sinabi nila sa amin, nagpa vtr and same burger and other talent stuff. Sabi nila legit naman, they also offered me the workshop, pero, feeling ko kasi pangkuha lang nila ng mga students yung ganun, pero, you can try naman, kami kasi we turned it down, waste of money and time saka medyo malayo siya sa place namin and I prefer her studying that doing workshop, if siya talaga yung hinahanap I think may mga makak discover naman sa kanya, and their place din kasi, hindi ako kumpyansa sa place nila, parang masikip masyado, if magsheshell out ka, mag Star circle or summer workshop ka na lang na malapit sa area niyo..
Just my two cents :)

Hi po mga Mommies, may alam po ba kayo na company or mga parents na pumapayag po na ipahire ang kanilang cute babies for photoshoot para sa isang baby product tapos yung picture kasi gagamitin for an online store? Thanks po
Title: Re: All about Baby/Child Modelling
Post by: Mommy Jazz on September 19, 2018, 10:33:55 am
Hello smartmama8. You need to get an agent. Check this link:
http://stagemothercornerph.wordpress.com/2013/05/02/how-to-get-your-kid-into-commercial-modelling/

Meron ding paid sites where advertisers or site owners can pay for a better photo be it a baby photo, models of any age, items or back grounds. This is one reason bakit bumaba ang demand for models in the industry.

If you want naman exposure for your baby para makuha siya ng mga advertisers, then you need an agent.
