Title: fashion for Moms
Post by: proudnewmommy on August 01, 2008, 01:33:30 am

And most of all, pano nyo po namamanage na beauty pa rin lalo na sa mata ng ating mga hubbies despite our hectic skeds as moms or working moms?

thanks po! :D

hi sis, given na siguro i'm still young,i still want to look my age kahit mommy na ko.so first thing jan age siguro pagbatayan natin.for me,i feel much comfy wearing blouse and slacks/or blouse and jeans, before nung wala pa ko baby fitted tshirts, shorts, jeans.bihira na ko mag tshirt ngayon, hindi ko na maxado feel, feeling ko pa tweetums hehe,e i want to look like a mommy (pretty mommy) kahit papano kc pag nalabas ako with my mom and macky, napagkakamalan akong ate ni macky at mom ko mama ni macky. :P i feel matured pag suot ko blouse or collared shirts then kahit jeans ok na ko dun basta jeans ko tokong hehe,kc feeling ko tumatangkad ako pag tokong or  pedal or 3/4 and jeans ko,dati shorts kc it makes me feel long legs ako rather than jeans na hanggang sakong.. ewan ko bat ganon,ok din ang business attires na blouse na 3/4. ganda.  o kaya yung us ngayong belts na malalaki at matataba to hide our tummies, mga sinusuot ng artista,si camille pratts lagi ko nakikita may ganong dress with matching belt. gusto ko style ng mga damit ni camille pratts sa show niya ngayong gaano kadalas ang minsan, yung mga damit niya parang bagay sakin hehe, medyo same kc kami ng body build, height, chubby face yet proportion body hehe. mas payat lang me ng koni.belts ang IN ngayon sis,to hide mommy's tummy from birth's remembrance hhehe.  ;D

just my two cents sis. ;)

Since I'm a WAHM my basic day to day attire is t-shirt and shorts. But I stock my closet with different colored polo-shirt, blouses and jeans yun pang casual then for formal attire I invest mostly on black dresses they never go out of style. Hindi ako bumibili ng mga fashionable clothes kc feeling ko ang bilis maluma as fashion changes so fast so parang sayang lang. Very basic ang choices ko for clothes.

You can make your basic clothes fashionable by accessorizing with brooches, necklaces, bangles, earrings, bags and shoes. Yun ang ginagastosan ko kc for me shoes and bags completes the wardrobe. Kahit gaano ka simple ng soot mo you can draw attention to your bag/shoes para hindi masyado mapansin ang soot mo.

fashion ko???  ;D DAPAT corporate, kasi working mom ako (pero until august 15 na lang, sana magkawork agad)... pero dahil 6yrs na ako dito sa makati sobrang nagsawa na ako magcorporate, minsan suot ko jeans, hahaha deadma na sa mga masasamang tingin basta whatever i want to suot 'yon susuotin ko... pero most of the time corporate - - -  slacks, long sleeves, or short sleeves or dress with shawl :) pero kapag weekends hehe shorts talaga or jeans ang lola niyo and flip flops, hehe :)

hay naku, ako before as in branded mga damit, as in guess, gap, kamiseta, bayo, levis, etc etc... now, as in priority ko si iyra, check check check - may gatas pa ba siya? may dr edwards pa ba? my promil?  may mommypoko? at kailan nga next check up?? hahaha... kaya kapag may mga sale, check ko as in :) then ilang libong beses muna ako mag iisip bago ako bibili for myself... kaya eto, siguro sa isang buwan, isang blouse na lang nabibili ko, hehe...

pero feeling ko fashionable pa rin mga suot ko, hahaha :) kasi sabi naman nila marunong ako magdala ng damit (as in magbitbit ba??? hehe)

naku, my favorite topic ... clothes!!!  ;D

for the office, I usually wear slacks and top ... madalang akong mag skirt kasi malamig sa amin. I settle for "generic" bottoms, like my favorite na black kashieca (wide-leg) slacks, khaki rampage slacks, and brown zara straight-cut pants. Tapos yung top ko and yung accessories ko yung may kulay. I have bags in different colors (navy blue, grey, red, brown, gold, silver, yellow, aqua, white) and different colored shoes as well (red, yellow, maroon, brown, blue, black, silver, gold). Eto yung mga mini-mix and match ko.

Currently, my favorite style for tops is still last year's uso ... yung ala-jackie O. Big buttons, classic, tailored looks. To me, this look never goes out of style.  :)

For everyday clothes, i still try as much as I can to dress up ... ayoko namang sabihin ng mga tao na ako yung "yaya" ng anak ko pag gumagala kami hehe  ;D But of course, depending on the occasion or the event, and taking into consideration ang weather, ang place na pupuntuhan, etc. kelangan laging appropriate ang suot.  :)

Share ko lang some looks that I take inspiration from:

i have a similar coat/blazer with really big buttons ... can be paired with slacks, colored jeans, and skinny pants

i love colored coats/trenches! I have them in brown, blue, orange, and yellow ... i'm looking for the perfect red coat pa!  :D

yung wide-leg pants like this pair suits any body type

ok din tong look na to for casual fridays ... it's ok to mix colors basta wag over  ;D

you can never go wrong with this kind of smart casual look

ako naman since dress down dito sa office, nakajeans lang ako and blouse at flip flops. Pwede ding magshorts, so minsan nagshoshorts na lang akong pumapasok. Minsan naka ballerina or doll shoes..minsan lang ako nagsusuot ng formal pag kailangan talaga or pag may okasyon...Hindi din kasi ako mahilig sa mga damit, ang gusto ko talaga, mga shoes..so sa shoes talaga ako nagiinvest.

me?i go for classic, never goes out of style. just put some accessories ok na. or mix & match. kaya kahit di ka bumili ng marami or branded clothes (minsan minsan lang).  pero minsan type ko yung ibang uso, kung bagay sakin. pero mas madalas mga classic talaga. kaya pag may occassion, nagkakalkal ako sa mga kahon ko, magsusuot lang ako ng accessories at sexy shoes & nice bag ok na! basta simple yet elegant.
i like jeans (minsan skinny jeans, skinny na ngako hehe), rubber shoes, flip flops, shirt & sling bag pag may date kami ng kiddo hehe!hirap kaya maghabol. ;D

share ko lang din na a staple for any woman's wardrobe is a white collared blouse kasi you can wear it in so many different ways ... here are some examples:

tama si len, ok mag shop sa greenhills, SM and landmark pag may budget na kelangang sundin ... and by the way, sale ngayon sa Landmark Makati and SM makati (di ko sure kung sa ibang branches ganun din) kaya makakatipid ka ...  :D

If you plan to buy slacks for work, i suggest you go for the flat-front style ... yung walang pleats ... mas classy ang dating. And yun nga, yung wide leg pants will look good on anyone. If your budget will allow, tingin ka ng slacks sa Mosaic, maganda ang mga cut nila. Also, kung medyo malaki ang tummy (like me hehe), go for pants na wide ang band sa waistline ... mas may control so your tummy won't bulge  ;D

here are some samples of slacks na maganda kahit kanino:

super duper agree ako dito! mnsan kc makiuso lang kahit hindi bagay e.. kung malling o regular na lakad, very comfortable ako sa pants and blouse o tee lang.. mahilig ako sa elevated shoes, high heels (kc naman maliit lola nyo) trip na trip ko yung gnyan..or snickers sometimes..nung buntis lang naman ako nakapagflat shoes e :P

Sis i haven't tried mosaic... maganda ang mga black pants ng Topshop nice investment sa wardrobe. As for white polo topshop and kamiseta have nice selection. Shoes (especially small sizes) VNC, Celine and Charles and keith are nice na hindi sobrang mahal. Pag mga dresses na semi formal nice mango and zara. ok din bumili sa bazaar if you want to have funkier and more fashionable stuff from young Filipino designers.

ok sa Mosaic kasi mas budget-friendly compared to imported brands BUT if stores like Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Zara, and Mango (among others) are on sale, ok din talaga bumili sa mga stores na to!!!  :D

also, try visiting The Ramp (Crossings) at Glorietta ... they have a nice selection of women's clothes (especially dresses) PLUS kids clothes ... was there last Sunday and sale sila!  :D

For shoes, same as len, I usually buy sa Charles & Keith, VNC, and CMG ... my flats I get from Anthology. And I also love the shoes from Sapato Manila ... ale, ganda wedges dito!  Aldo is also a great shoes store, daming choices and ok ang price pag naka sale ... :D

Sa local clothing brands, love ko talaga Bayo ... sulit na sulit nga discount card nila sa akin hehe  ;D kamiseta, kashieca, and bench also have good selections. Apple & Eve from time to time may magagandang outfits din  :D

for my clothes i go for una rosa, plains and prints, bayo. sa shoes any brand for as long as na type ko na sya kaagad, buy na.  ;) but no more heeled shoes for me anymore, since i twisted my knee a couple of years back. i now buy only close and flat shoes. :)

for my children, australian, gibi, mario d' boro for the shoes. for the clothes, big and small, bubblegum, basics for kids. :)

shoes - more flats nako ngayon. mas madaling mamasyal, maghabol kay baby.. i am used to wearing heeled shoes parati nung di pako mommy kase kelangan since 6 footer si hubby. ngayon any flats will do.

bags - used to be my investment..pero ngayon baby bags na ang pinupundar ko na puwede rin sa office. like baby couture mecca collection. pwedeng pwede sa office.

perfumes - super collection ko pero di ko na masyado nagagamit ngayon kc takot pako na hikain si baby sa amoy ko. so madalas ngayon wala akong scent. i just like my hair to be good smelling lang. important sakin yun. fave kc ni anne keir sumubsob sa hair ko tapos fave naman ni hubby hinahalikan ulo ko, yabang kc nun 6 footer kasi. hehe

tops - ever since naman classic ako pumorma. i always am on the safe side pero ~sorry to say this~ kahit polo shirts kinokolekta ko, or simple tees lang, brand conscious po ako. investment ko din kase kahit yun at yun ang isuot, maganda ang quality. puro cotton nadin karamihan tops ko. i also invest sa underwear/garments.

jeans - i have three worthy pair of jeans and ok na sakin yun. again, after po ako sa quality kaya kahit expensive ok lang.

jewelry - sponsored naman to kase jewelry business ang sa inlaws ko. again, hindi ako mahilig sa masyado makikay na gamit. diamonds & pearls are ok w/ me.

classic porma ko, i go for simple ones, not really what's in or what looks hot. i just try my best to carry myself the classiest way i can.

Now, i'm 20 at medyo naging fashionable.

Now naging mom ako mas naging maarte at kikay ako. I love wearing dresses, shorts and skirts. Dati puro jeans ako, now bihira na ako mag jeans.. hehe and also i love wearing leggings. Mas payat ako after giving birth rather nung dalaga pa ako..

i mooy share ko lang sayo hilig ko =) hayshopping girls bestfriend talaga yan. but since may baby na tayo medyo tipidmode muna sa mga sarili =) ako kasi i make it to a point na atleast twice a month eh nakakapamili ako ng set ofclothes. di naman kailangan mahal. like sa landmark mix and match lang naman ang dapat matutunan mommy pwede e recycle ang damit. maganda din to have plain colors kasi pwede yun ibagay sa jeans, shorts, skirt.sa corporate naman i chose to wear dresses kasi di ko na problema e teterno kasi whole outfit na siya automatic. hehe ako kasi mommy noon pa may pagka kikay. bata kung saan ka kumportable go lan. mahirap kasi na maganda nga di mo naman kayang dalhin sus mas maiinis ka lang =)

Sa previous work ko, smart casual pero I try to look corporate. But now that I'm working sa isang major apparel brand, I have to look the part. Medyo mahirap yung adjustment kasi casual talaga.
Mabuti na lang may employee sale kaya nakakabili ako.

Medyo nagbabago nga yung attitude ko towards fashion. Dati talaga laid-back lang. Blouse and jeans. Ngayon, natuto ako mag-layering. :)

pareho tayo, Mommy France. sa work lang ako nakapag-layering kasi malamig. hehe i started buying cover-ups when i got into the retail industry. pero dati medyo brand conscious ako, ngayon mas naging budget conscious ako. hehe kaya nabawasan na pamimili ko ng branded, pag sale na lang ako nakakabili. mas ok pa nga sa ukay kasi merong mas fashionable clothes dun (especially cover ups!) kelangan mo nga lang pilian. so far okay naman mga nabibili ko. :)

Ako talaga di brand conscious. Ngayon lang medyo maingat ako kasi siyempre, as an employee - I carry the name of the company. Required din kami to use our own products kasi may clothing allowance.

Share ko lang... since hindi ako madalas bumili ng damit and my husband gained weight, I use his old clothes. :D Sayang naman. Kaunting creativity lang.

Today, I am wearning his white Polo Shirt na parang dress saken.

:-\ Siguro I always go for comfortableness. Flat shoes lagi ang binibili ko. Dito naman sa office namin, we're really not required to wear formal attire. As long as OK yung top (read: no dangling neckline), pwede na. Kase yun lang naman ang nakikita sa webcam when we teach our students. Pero siempre, smart casual pa din dapat from head-to-feet. So most of the time, I just wear jeans and a nice shirt and yes, my ever present flat shoes.  :P

Nowadays, naisip ko na dapat I should dress my age. I'm in my late 20's and for me, it's awkward to see people my age wearing shirts with cartoon characters. Dati, gusto ko may print and all. I go for neutral slash boring colors like black, grey and beige. Pero I still like green.  ;D

I'd love to wear loud colored pair of shoes (like yung mga nauuso ngayon) pero tingin ko hindi ko din 'keri'. Isa pa, when I buy shoes in red or in yellow or in green, I must have a bag and a belt in those colors to match them with (which is, hindi na practical on my part). ::)

Being in a clothing compant changed my perspective in fashion.
Grabe talaga. Aside from making sure that I protect the brand as an employee, I have to represent the brand as well.
The brand really takes good care of the quality kaya hands down ako dun.

Still, yung body type ko kakaiba. Hindi naman ako ma-shopping na tao so either may sale lang sa office or may nagbigay lang saken para bumili ako ng damit. But now, I look for the quality. Magbayad man ako ng mas mahal, sure naman ako natagal.

For casual wear and for school (yes, Im studying), I usually mix match my clothes.  I invest on pants (both slacks and jeans) kasi sila yung paulit-ulit mo isusuot.  Then I go for plain tops (polo, polo shirts, shirts). The truth is - ilang piraso lang yun!

For special occasions naman, I go for black dresses.  I have 2 actually.

Tapos more on blouse lang ako sa office. ???

Mommies,

We all can be fashionable in some ways. Lalo na sa mga pregnant mismo ngayon. There are in style dresses and outfits naman na we can still look pretty even having a big belly. I am currently 6 months pregnant and i keep on complaining na ubos na ang damit ko. Sa pag punta palang sa hospital and clinics kapag may check up ako, syempre I wanna be gab parin. Now I bought this nice dress from zalora (http://www.zalora.com.ph/women/clothing/maternity/). Check it out mommies! Have a look baka may magustuhan kayo.  :)

These are what I have purchased:

^^ With my figure, I just cant opt for online shopping.

Pity kasi super lapit lang ng Divisoria sa amin and makatipid na sana ako sa clothes kaso kapag dresses na, freesize is too short for me. parang tunic/long blouse lang kapag suot ko. I really have to try on the clothes to see if it fits.

Right now, nagre-renew ako ng entire wardrobe ko (I have no clothes to start with kasi nasunog lahat ng gamit ko.) Mga donations and hand-me-downs ng relatives ko ang sinusuot ko ngayon. i can't buy clothes (except undergarments) for myself for the meantime. but sa december, babawi ako ng bonnga. Mamimili ako ng clothes for myself.

Ano kaya babagay sa akin? Young mom kasi ako. 22years old na heavy build. Any tips or suggestions mga mommies?

Since you're talking about online shopping, I don't really suggest it lalo kasi hindi natin nakikita yung actual size ng damit. I once regret buying online, may nakita kasi akong blouse at nagandahan ako. Then, nakalagay small-medium frame. So thinking ok naman kasya sakin. When it was delivered, laking gulat ko talaga! kasi hindi kasya yung damit sakin. The seller shouldn't have posted na small-medium but rather large-XL!!! So un, never again went shopping online.

I would also suggest, if you don't really want to splurge on your outfits but still want to look fashionable, yung mga moms na recently gave birth or yung may mga preggy clothes pa, you can still wear them. Most of my office attires now are from my preggy clothes. Haha! Kasi I bought a lot of blouses, so nilalagyan ko na lang ng accessories para hindi masyadong halata na preggy clothes sila.

Read my blog about these...

yesterday, I was inspired by a blog I read wherein the blogger's entire outfit costs less than 500 and she bought it all at an ukay-ukay..kaya nachallenge ako na subukan ko makabili ng less than 200 na outfit. Noong una, naiinis na ako kasi puro rags ang nakikita ko pero nakakuha naman ang ng gustohan ko all for P150 pesos.  ;D

He is strictly against it for hygienic purposes.

Me naman, almost the same fashion lang nun wala pa akong baby. I don't buy shoes online din. I got frustrated 1 time kasi di kasya sa akin yun nabili ko. I prefer na masususkat ko muna before ko bilhin. When i was pregnant, I'm more on leggings and maluluwang na top. Now, after giving birth, almost the same pa rin yun pananamit ko nung di pa ako nanganganak. I'm in to high heels talaga so ayun, kahit nCS ako 3 months after giving birth kahit bawal daw talagang ng high heels na ako. Ang important lang un pag mimix and match. Important rin yun mga accessories. Nahihilig ako dun lately. I work nightshift, at pag napapadaan ako sa Baclaran  before shift, naku talagang dumadaan ako sa suki kong bilihan ng mga accessories..hehe! :) OK naman so far, niloloko nga nila ako kikay mom daw.  :)

mom ko ang nagturo saken na bumili ng wholesale. halimbawa..sa mga cute tops from bazaar..try ko daw bumili ng 6 pcs nung top na same cut/style but diff colors..laking tipis nga naman. kasi yung mga damit na bibilhin ko from Pinas..pang 1 year ko na..kaya ang ginagawa ko mix and match din.at accesorize para hindi nakakasawang tignan. yung mga accessories ko from greenhills, okay naman..nagtatagal sya at unique designs din.mahilig din ako sa cardigan..i've bought 6pcs din with diff colors..pang 1 year ko na yun..o db? i mean sulit sya for me..may mga bagay kasi na kailangan ka maginvest like shoes,jackets,jeans..yung mga alam mong pang matagalan mo gagamitin. sa blouses kasi minsan nawawala sa uso.this year medyo sakto lang sa budget..pero next year promise magiipon ako para mas madami hahaha! :D
i will miss the nuvali bazaar..kasi hindi ko na maaabutan talaga.. hay iniiwas yata ako ng tadhana sa gastos! hahaha :)

ako naman before maging mommy talagang TIIS-GANDA ang labanan. heels kung heels, accessories to the max. pero nung naging preggy na mga clothes ko mga long ska short sundresses. basta karamihan puro dress. nung nanganak na yun pa din nagiba lang sa shoes nakakapag heels na ulit. pero ngaun lalo na pagkasama si baby i go for COMFORT talaga. dati madalas plunging or mini skirt suot ko ngaun hindi na carry lalo na ang hirap magpapayat. and hirap din pagkasama si baby. kaya madalas pants/shorts saka simple shirt lang. pero sa office di na ko masyado nagpapakafashionista like before simple na lang basta depende sa lugar, occasion and weather ang suot ko. di rin kailangan na may tatak basta kaya mo dalhin and tama ang accessories mo lalo na ang shoes and bag ok na. ang dapat na medyo malaking investment is bags, shoes and watch. then lahat dun na lang sa bargain/sale.
