he's practising cup feeding, kaya lang matagal.

I'm about to be a first time mom by March and I'd like to address my question to working moms here.  I plan to go back to work and graduate school after giving birth.  This seems ambitious, but I have consulted with a few classmates of mine who are doing so and they say that it's doable.  Anyway, I'd just like to ask how many times do you pump while at work?  Does your office have an area where moms can express their milk?

sis, every 3 hours ako nagpupump. then lagay ko yung mga milk sa ref. since i bought medela, they also include the cooling element with case. parang ice pack siya para habang nagtratravel pauwi malamig so hindi magexpire ;D

Wow...every 3 hrs!  I don't think I can do that much pumping.  Medo pricey din yung medela electric pumps kaya naghe-hesitate pa ako mag-invest on 1.  I read din kasi in an article online na I should at least wait after I've tried breastfeeding if I have enough supply of milk.  Hay...hirap yata maging working breastfeeding mom!  :(

sis sa pagkakaalam ko, the more you extract your milk and empty your breast(thru direct breastfeed or pump) mas magiincrease yung milk supply mo. yung logic kasi dun is parang psychology mo yung body mo to produce more milk since madals ma-empty yung breast mo. tho, mas ok pa din daw magdirect breastfeed, it has something to do with the saliva of the baby. ako 4mos lang nag-pump, have to stop kasi nung huli nagkaka skin allergy ako and i have to take medications na ;D

yes sis every 3 hours. im a working and breastfeeding mom.
my baby is now 8 months old this christmas and still breast milk parin sya, purely breastmilk. syempre now kumakain na sya so i express milk twice within 8-5 office hours. pag nasa bahay na ko direct na ang breastfeeding namin.
i used mura lang naman na breast pump, its a Playtext Manual.  ;)

So every 3 hour on the average.  Maliit lang kasi office namin and there's no space for me to pump.

 its up to you... ;)

ako din magwowork na soon! I'm exclusively breastfeeding my 2 months old son.

I'm still waiting for my medela pump, until then I can't start pumping pa. Anyway, tips naman po on how you introduced the bottle to the baby and how you avoided nipple confusion.

Aside from work, I have masters pa, so super late na ako uuwi.  Problem ko pa yung pag-store at handle ng milk na na-pump ko from work.  Sobrang ambitious ba ako para pagsabay-sabayin ang work, school at motherhood?!  I know some people who have done it, so siguro naman kaya ko.

Im using Avent manual pump.

;D You just think, its the best for your baby. then magagawa mo na yun.

Yup!  Kakayanin ko.  Basta iisipin ko na I'm doing it for my baby's well-being.  Siguro I'm going thru baby jitters (hehe...parang wedding jitters!). But although I know I have to make sacrifices, I don't see naman why I should give up my dreams.  Tama naman diba?!  A baby shouldn't be a hindrance.  Dapat maging inspiration pa nga sya for you to do better sa mga endeavors mo.  :)

Mommies, help naman.. i will go back to work next week. i want to continue giving my baby breastmilk.

what stuff do i need? for now, i only have manual breastpump. a friend will give me medela pump in style but still not here. so, i dont want to buy another one because of financial reason.

aside fr breastpump,i need to bring bottles. is 2 bottles ok?i have plenty of milk.
is it ok to mix the milk in 1 bottle until its full?then to the other bottle..during different times of expressing?then transferred it to 4oz bottles when i get home?is it safe?

plus where will i put the bottles of milk?we dnt have ref in the ofc.and while traveling.should i but a jug?or can u recommend something that is more economical so i dnt need to buy a jug. and its also so big. can i just put it in my bag?

haay.nastress na q mommies. please help me!

If i'm not mistaken ha, may kasamang thermal bag and bottles yung Pump in Style. Better ask your friend about it nalang before you buy anything.

May tanong ako sa mga mommies n nageelectric pump: ilang oz ang naeexpress ninyo sa work and how often do you express? Ano brand gamit nyo? Is it enough for your baby or do you still use formula?

feeling ko sulit naman mag electric pump kasi 2-3 months worth ng formula lang yon, e yung electric pump magagamit mo pa for a longer period. not to mention na mas healthy ang breast milk.

i heard kasi from our neighbor that their 4-month-old grandson consumes 8k worth of milk every month (NAN)!!!! e halos isang medela swing na yon sa ebay (brand new, sealed). hehe yung bili ko sa akin 9.5k sa ebay nga sa monday ddating. sana sulit naman.

hmm.  i've been back to work na for the last nine months and i still breastfeed my baby.  the number of bottles that you need depends kung marami ka milk. ako, i bring along 3 5oz bottles kasi yun lang kaya ko express.  3-4x ako express sa office, 8-11-1-3.  maganda kung may makita ka room na pwede ka mag-express para may privacy ka.  tried kasi dati sa cr, medyo mahirap sya. tsaka icky. i was super, extra careful na hindi dumikit any important part ng pump sa any surface sa cr. whew.

pwede mo mix yung na-express na milk from different sessions for as long as halos same temp na sila. so sessions 1 and 2, lagay ko muna sa ref. when its time for session 3, mix ko na yung milk expressed from previous sessions.

yung medela pis, may kasama na sya na cooler bag w/ ice pack.  kung wala ka ref, the cooler bag will do.  sabi it can keep your milk cool for 12hrs.  from experience, kelangan frozen talaga yung ice pack para sya mag-last ng 12hrs. may mga mura naman na thermal bag na nabibili sa mall. i believe yung lock&lock, less than 500 lang. haven't tried it yet, though.

mas marami ka nga makukuha milk pag sabay mo habang feed si baby. however, medyo tricky sya lalo na pag medyo malaki na sya.  my rjed pulls at the pump's tubes and kicks the bottle pag sinasabay ko sa feed niya kaya medyo mahirap.

if you're going back to work na next week, i suggest you have a sort of 'practice run'.  try mo lumabas ng bahay whole day, see kung pano ang magiging sistema mo pag-express pag halimbawa nasa office ka na.  take note din sa amount of milk na nauubos ng baby mo while you're away para alam mo kung how much ang kailangan mo i-express sa office.  i still express milk sa gabi kasi i found na di enough ang na-express ko sa office to meet my baby's demand.

medyo mahirap, pero kaya.  and its all worth it  ;D

good luck!

Post by: riazagala on April 15, 2009, 09:46:27 am
hi, fellow mommies! just want to ask your opinion on the available breast pumps that you used?

The thing is, I breast fed my first son entirely for the first 1 1/2 years (that was 9 years ago and my work then was based at home) kaya walang problema.

I'm due 2nd week of May and still plan to breast feed but I'm office based now and will be back after the expiration of 2 month maternity leave...so, I've no idea how I'm going to go about the process. help! Thanks  :)

hmmm. the question is, how much is your budget? if you could spend at least 10k i'd recommend that you buy a Medela everyday-use electric pump. I have a Medela Swing bought from eBay.ph, and i bring it to the office everyday to extract milk. I was able to bring home as much as 15 oz in one day. It's also quiet enough to be used in a secluded cubicle. Just bring your own nursing wrap/bib for cover and a thermal bag. In 30-45 mins, I could extract 4-8 oz.

I got mine at 9500php (ebay.ph). It's 13k at Rustan's. The ebay seller is oceansincorporated. I got the package sealed, brand new. But still be cautious when making an online transaction. Risky pa rin sya kahit papano.

So far from everything that I've read online (forums, feedbacks here and abroad), Medela yung pinaka-konti na complaints when it comes to electric pumps. ;) Hehe.

But you have other options. There are those manual breastpumps like Avent, which users have also been raving about. I think it costs less than 5k.

Yung 10k, 1 or 2 months worth lang ng formula yun ni baby. e yung pump, matagal mo gagamitin tapos breastmilk pa ang gatas ni baby. mas sulit talaga to invest in a good pump in the long run.

BTW, although my OB adviced against Anmum Materna, my baby's Pedia recommended to drink Anmum Lacta. Promise, pag umiinom ako non, after a while, naglea-leak na yung milk!!! Hehe.

i'm also using the medela pis.  ok din sya kasi it has everything you need na, all in one bag (pump, ice pack, bottles at thermal bag).  medyo malaki nga lang sya kaya akala ng mga officemates ko lagi ako naglalayas  :)

medyo mahal nga lang (bought it for 15k online) pero kung consider mo cost ng formula (my sister shells out 1200 every 3 days for formula kasi may cows milk allergy pamangkin ko. that's 12000/month :'( ), sulit pa rin.  hindi rin sakitin ang mga breastfed babies, compared sa formula-fed.  so, imagine the cost na save mo on hospital bills  ;D

Hi sis!  I'm taking Pro-Lacta.  I went back to work this May lang.  I tried expressing 3 times sa office pero I only get 3oz per session.  I get more than 5oz when I expressed twice (4hr intervals).

Hi sis!  Yup...exclusively breastfed si baby.  Mahal ang formula eh!  Hehe...kidding!  Syempre and primary reason is that it's the best for baby.

Nakakainggit naman...dami mong nae-express.  ano gamit mong pump?  I use Medela na manual lang kasi.  And maybe dahil na nga din sa stress ng pagbalik sa work...

My baby consumes naman an average of 10oz.  She's not getting chubby pero she's getting long and ok naman yung weight gain niya as per last checkup.  We'll see pa how she's adjusting sa pagiging bottle fed on her 2nd month checkup.

Sis...punta ka sa Rockwell bukas?  I'll be there 10am.  :)

Title: Breastfeeding for Working Moms!
Post by: insensitive on August 13, 2010, 05:41:19 pm
Just want to share, from my breastfeeding guidebook

Your milk supply should have stabilized by the sixth week if you've breastfeed exclusively. Here are some things you should do before going back to work and when working to be able to continue breastfeeding.

 BUILD YOUR SUPPLY
*Invest on an efficient breast pump; a double electric breast pump will do the work in the least amount of time.

*Pump in between feedings or right after feeding to drain your breast so that it signals your brain to produce more.

*You may express 1oz of breast milk per session at first then this will increase in amount gradually.

STORING:
*Use disposable sterilized storage bags onto which you can label the date and time of storage. Never use pentel pen to write on the plastic bags directly.

*To save on storage bags, you can combine your milk as long as the portions are almost the same temperature. After the 1st session, refrigerate first then combine it with the next session. Never mix frozen with freshly extracted milk. Don’t add warm milk from your breast to frozen stored milk.

*Place inside the freezer. Isolate inside a plastic container if you don’t have enough space in your ref in order to avoid contamination from frozen fish and meat,

*Follow a First in : First Out system.

Giving Stored Breast Milk:
*Meticulously train your caregiver on the proper storage and preparation of your breast milk.
*Slow thaw your frozen milk by transferring from t he freezer to the refrigerator a day before use. Bring out of refrigerator in the morning of use. NEVER boil or microwave your breast milk, as this will destroy the nutrients.

While at Work:
*Bring your breast pump, sterilized plastic containers, small cooler, and an ice pack.
*Look for a room in your workplace (preferably not a rest room) where you can pump safely.
*Schedule your pumping sessions during your break time in the morning, lunch break, afternoon break and if possible before leaving the office.
*Place your expressed milk inside your small cooler with ice if you don not have refrigerator in your office.
*Breastfeed your baby as soon as you get home.
*Exclusively breastfeed your baby whenever you are at home.

Good luck working Moms!!!!
It really works on me, 10mos BF while working and i want to continue as long as i have a milk supply :)

actually, i'm a SAHMmie. but i plan to express breastmilk just in case i need to go out without baby.

i don't know how much per feeding should be given - like 4 oz, etc? should i follow the recommended quantity for formula-fed babies at the same age?

by the way, mommy kassandradenise, i read in your post that you have a breastfeeding guidebook. what book is this? i also want to buy breastfeeding book.

hello!

ask ko lang if some mommies here the same ng naoobserve ko with regards to avent pumps. mas madami akong output sa manual pump kesa electric. kaya mas madalas gamit ko ang manual kahit nakakangawit. ganito din po ba sa inyo mommies?

tsaka, anyone here tried spectra? is it better than lansinoh? im on a tight budget eh so im considering these two brands only. TIA!

I'm also a BF and Working Mom.
I remember when my baby was 3 months, she drinks 3oz of BM den. I have a cheap electric pump, but when I get tired of waiting for the letdown or collection from the pump, I do hand express. More efficient and I can collect faster too since my break time is very limited.
2 sessions of express lang ako per day sa office, tig-4oz na yun per session :)

;D hi working mom din ako and BF my almost 3mos old baby andi..

pasalamat talaga ako kase dito sa manila cityhall may health clinic kami where i can expressed my breastmilk.. meron sila lactation room exclusively BF mom... so meron talgang privacy..

I am using LANSINOH double elec. breastpump,, i bought it for 8thou dito pinas.. may free trial pa.. visit their website www.babymama.com.ph tapos may freebies din like icepacks tsaka breastmilk storage bags..

anyway 3x a day minsan 2x a day ako ngpupump ,, 12-14oz din nakukuha ko maghapon sa morning yun madami 7oz.

so far healthy si andi.. We bought My first year and Avent feeding bottles kasi ayaw niya yung iba binili namin (mabisyong bata) hahaha... especially ngayun na working na uli ako ,, mahina na sya dumede 60z to 80z lang nacoconsumed niya from 7am to 6pm..

Pero thank god pa din that she is a healthy baby ,,, iba talaga pag Bf and baby,, hindi ganun kataba pero siksik at mabigat..

kaya saludo ako sa lahat ng EBF working mommies like us..  ;D
mahirap pero kinakaya natin .. kasi for me ito nag isa sa pinakaprecious gift we could give to our baby..

Tsaka tipid din ,, sa una ka lang magiinvest sa mga gadgets you need para sa breastpump etc.. pero long term naman magagamit tsaka to top it all HEALTHY si baby.. ;D

Title: Where to Express Milk at Office?
Post by: joluessi on December 15, 2010, 01:26:27 pm
Our office has no dedicated nursing room. Kaya medyo mahirap. Most of the times, sa server room ako ng office namin nagpu-pump. Although sabi, as much as possible daw, hindi dapat sa clinic nag-i-express ng milk, I don't have that much choice. Super OC lang sa cleanliness, like mega-alcohol first, before expressing. Huhuhu. :( Sa offices niyo ba may dedicated nursing room? Haays.

Hi mga sis, I'm a working single mom and breastfeeding too! medyo blessed ang bf moms sa company namin kasi may dedicated nursing room kami, complete with comfy chairs and ref to store the ebm. one thing I hate too with working is that fixed yung break skeds namin, kaya ako, what i do I pump na lang sa workstation ko, I use my jacket as a cover and put my pump (currently using medela swing) at my lap.so far wala namang nagrereklamo and mas convienient sa akin and sa manager ko, kasi before hindi ako nakakakain kasi i need to maximize my break for pumping, pag nag mamanual pump ako I only get roughly 8oz for the whole 8hrs ng shift ko.
Title: Re: Breastfeeding and the Working Mother

ayun pa pala problem ko. ref to store the milk.
Title: Re: Breastfeeding and the Working Mother

mommy buuurp CONGRATULATIONS!!!
it takes a few days bago lalabas yung mature milk mo mommy.  for now, colostrum should be enough for your baby.  pagkapanganak kasi ng baby, his/her stomach is as big as a marble. tapos after 10 days saka sya lalaki as big as a pingpong ball.  kaya maya't maya sya dedede seio. hehe shinashare ko lang yung mga natutunan ko sa bfeeding class.

thanku po! wala din po colostrum lumabas sa akin. is that normal? ngayon dahil mag3days na si baby they fed him nan hw sa nursery. =c plus the bottle they use isnt breastfeed friendly so i think confused na baby ko. lakas niya nga dumede ng formula.
Title: Re: Breastfeeding and the Working Mother
Post by: Kimps08 on January 26, 2011, 09:01:11 am
lam mo mommy yan yung mali ko when i gave birth.  inintroduce agad yung bottle sa kanya kaya ayun nagkaroon sya ng nipple confusion.  it took time bago nasanay si baby na dumede sa akin.  i had to ban the feeding bottle for some time. iba kasi yung pag suck ng baby sa bottle vs. sa breast.  eto sis o...basahin mo to - http://www.breastfeeding.com/all_about/all_about_confusion.html#

Title: Breastfeeding Friendly Call Centers?
Post by: buuurp on March 17, 2011, 05:04:23 am
Hi, i learned that nasa law pala na dapat supportive ang employer kapag breastfeeding ang employee by providing a room kapag magpump and may lactation breaks, pinirmahan ata ni Arroyo to before. Anyway tanong ko lang saang call centers iniimplement to? Kasi right now samin no choice talaga kundi once lang ako makapagpump which is during my lunch hahanap pa ko ng floor na wala masyadong tao sa comfort room. I need to report back sa work on the 30th pa naman at naiistress na ako kakaisip kung pwede lang magstop working since I need 4 more weeks to establish my supply. Exclusively pumping kasi ako.  :( No area and no extra time kasi talaga. I already asked the higher ups about this clueless sila.  :'( So either I'm trying to find a workplace near my house or a place where they support breastfeeding mothers.

mommies working sa call center, yung workstations nyo ba hindi private enough for pumping? Or how about using a nursing cover while pumping at your workstation? Siguro wear something nalang that is pump-friendly, like a loose blouse that can fit a pump inside and you still remain covered. You can use those hands-free accessories or device for pumps. Wala lang, just throwing in ideas for moms having this dilemma.

Title: Re: Breastfeeding and the Working Mother

yung RA 10028 wala pa ding implementing rules and regulations kaya wala pang additional breaks (max of 40 min) for lactating moms.  pagkakaintindi ko for those companies na merong nursing stations, they get to pay lesser taxes yata.

call center din ako.  i guess you can say im one of the lucky ones kasi meron kaming nursing station. its a small room with the essentials - me table, chair, at me exclusive na personal ref to store the expressed milk. pangit kasi mag pump sa CR or sa station mo. unless isa ka sa mga boss na me sariling office. (at hindi ako un...hheehhe).

@mommy buuurp - hindi ka ba pwedeng mag pump sa clinic nyo? sakit kaya sa dibdib na hindi ka makapag express.  dapat ma ayos na to eh. isa to sa mga dahilan kung bakit andaming mommies na nagsostop mag breastfeed kasi wlang support from the employers. kainis!
Title: Re: Breastfeeding and the Working Mother

(my supervisor is a guy/gay so feeling ko di niya alam gano kahirap kasi tapos nalipat pa ko supervisor, lalaki naman.)

I also work in a call center and started pumping at work too the first couple of months I got back.
I breastfeed in the clinic and since we did not have any ref in the branch I work in I would bring a cooler with reusable ice packs. I would always swear by my Medela electric pump. I would pump on occassion.
I still breastfeed sometimes and my son is almost turning 3.

I think it is doable but challenging too since it takes time and eats my break period. It is a sacrifice but worth it naman.

For me, nagiiba yung amoy ng nasa room temp vs nasa ref after ilang hours. I tried comparing kase before. Mas amoy fresh yung naka store sa ref.

Sa mga working moms but still breastfeeding, how did you do that? I don't know what to do kasi two months lang maternity leave diba, e gusto ko sana magbreastfeed padin kahit na nagwowork. Pwede ba yun i ref? I have no idea po kung pano gawin yun. Advise naman po mga mommies. TIA.

i have the same issue... as far as i know, you can store it sa ref and sa freezer yung na express na milk and you can pump sa office then place it sa office freezer or chiller nyo. label all the bottles or dun sa container where you are going to place the milk.

i leave 6-7 4oz bottles when i work. mag5mo na si baby at bm lang ang feed namin sakanya. nakakaubos sya ng 5-6 bottles. umaalis ako 3am,balik ko 12nn, may uwi ako 9-10oz na napump ko sa work. routine na sakin sana umabot kami til 6mo. minsan nakakapagod pero ewan ko nakakatuwa na ang nagpapataba sakanya ay galing sakin kahit am working parang am still with him. cheesyy.

thnx po sis, dapat pala maraming maiwan. Anong breastpump po ang gamit mo? Kung mga 2hrs na byahe from office to home, dpo ba napapnis yung milk?

hi momni3rdy.  hindi po sya napapanis. if you want, bili ka ng cooler or insulated bag and ice packs para ur breastmilk remains cool kahit 2 hours pa byahe mo. i recommend yung ice packs na binebenta ni babymama (babymama.ph).  the ice pack could last more than 4 hours.

another tip din mommy. schedule ur "pumping" breaks at work para hindi kokonti yung milk supply mo.

hi momni3rdy, ako nagbreastfeed ako for 2 years kahit working.

hope nakatulong. :)

^wow sis gladys-qvp, for 2 years! sana ako din. ;D

hi momni3rdy!

This is what i do. few weeks before returning to work pump and store as much as possible. Please visit kellymom.com for pumping and storing infos.. Then practice leaving baby half day muna to test kung okay sa kanya ang feeding bottle pati ma-lessen ang iyong anxiety.

I bought an insulated bag from playtex worth P1300 and ice packs from babymama.com worth P100. My baby is 3 months old na so i have to see to it that i have 12-15oz of milk sa ref which is good for 8 hours kay baby. On days like Thurs & Fri I have Graduate school 6-9 pm at least i have 20 oz of milk for baby.

Sa office I pump 3 times 4 oz each session. Since walang ref sa office i put it in my insulated bag. Make sure that you have a place to pump. During Thurs & Fri I go home at 5 pm to put my expressed milk sa ref then pump ulet for last minute before going to grad school.

And dont forget to take malunggay capsules.

I hope this helps  :)

Then, buy n lang me lang ice pack para kahit ma traffic ako hindi ako magworry na masira ang bm ko. thanks talaga sa inyo ;)

wow sis gladys_gvp 2 yrs.. idol! sana ako din.. kaso since mag back to school na mix feed na si baby, though lamang pa rin BM.. antagal ko kasing wala sa house :( umaalis kasi ako 7AM punta sa tindahan, then pasok sa office after lunch.. uwi ko nyan 11PM na ..so nsa 18 hrs akong wala sa house panong hindi ,auubos yung stock namin.. ang lakas din mag milk ni baby.. nung hindi pa open yun tindahan namin, office lang ang punta ko everyday consume niya nun mga 20oz milk from 1PM to 10PM .. he's now 5 n half months so medyo nagincrease intake niya, to add pa na mas matagal akong wala sa bahay.. but i still continue to express milk.. by hand na nga lang e.. pero madmai pa din naman ako nakukuha in 18 hrs na im out me uwi akong 24 oz pang milk niya kinabukasan..

maikli na lang yung direct feeding time namin since tulog naman sa magdamag si baby.. pinipilit kona nga mag feed si baby kahit tulog para lang me direct feeding session pa din kami kahit papano.. para hindi matuyo yung supply, and im taking malunggay capsules everyday.. parang vitamins ko na..

Read about Six Breastfeeding-Friendly Companies in the Philippines (http://www.smartparenting.com.ph/mom-dad/breastfeeding/breastfeeding-basics/six-breastfeeding-friendly-companies-in-the-philippines)
Under Philippine laws, a mother is only given a maternity leave of 60 days for normal delivery, and 78 days for a caesarean delivery. The babymoon itself, or the first six weeks after delivery to give the body time to heal and bond with the baby, is almost half of the Philippine maternity leave.

Im also working mom, nakakapagpump po ako twice a day, or thrice a day, sa clinic ng cityhall na manila,, nakakapaguwi ako dati nun 2mos old si baby after ML 12-15 oz , then ngaun 14 mos na baby ko 9-10 oz na lang, ginagawa ko nun 3rd mo niya tag 3oz or 2 0z,  3-4 bottles para di masayang,

kung pauwi ka na at 2hours ang byahe u can use an icepack tapos lagay mo sa insulated bag pati yun breastmilk na napump mo 12hours di un mapapanis basta malamig with icepack..

goodluck on ur journey.. :-*

I have been direct feeding and pumping for 5 months already.  At the office, I am the only pumper there since the other moms have chosen to give formula to their babies.  So there is no designated room for pumping but I am allowed to pump.  I have lactation breaks and I go to the medical clinic to pump.  If the medical clinic is not available, I use the comfort room and place a note that I'm pumping so that nobody will attempt to open the door.  If both locations are not available, I have with me my breastfeeding cover and I just pump right there underneath my cover, wherever I may be in the office :)

i really want to continue exclusively breastfeeding my baby even after i go back to work. my baby is now 1 month old and when i pump, 2 oz. lang from each breast ang napu-pump ko. i only pump now pag nae-engorge yung breasts ko or pag may checkup kami para may backup ako na milk since direct feeding kami ng baby ko. sana mag-increase ang milk supply ko para kayanin ko mag-store ng maraming milk para sa kanya.

question lang, san kayo nakabili ng insulated bags? how much ang ganun?
Title: Re: BF moms but still working, tips please
Post by: keyoks on January 31, 2012, 03:43:57 pm
@sistah, 2oz from each breast is actually good ha considering that your baby is still 1 month old. Remember that breastfeeding functions on supply and demand.  Don't wait til you're engorged and your breasts are hurting before you pump coz this will give a signal to your brain to produce less milk as the supply is more than the demand.

When you wake up in the morning and your baby is asleep, PUMP.  You can pump before or after your baby feeds.  If you pump before, leave some for your baby, this way your baby will get the hindmilk, the fatty milk. After baby feeds, pump the remaining milk.  Goal is to empty your breasts completely, so that your breasts will produce more milk.  Law of supply and demand.

@sistah..i bought my insulated bag at sm department store.its playtex fridge to go, i cant remember the exact price but it was less than 2k.worth the price since i bring it along to work every day.you may also want to buy a techi ice..if you are really decided to breastfeed baby, its wise to invest with these.and its more economical in the long run.

eto na, i've been back at work for almost a month. so far, so good. i pump 3 times at work and i make anywhere between 10 to 12 oz. paguwi ko, i transfer them to her feeding bottles na tig-3oz.each.
i try to leave 6 to 8 bottles. she consumes about 4 to 5 on a regular day but i always have extra in case bigla ako kailangan ma-late ng uwi. pag kulang yung na-pump ko, i try to habol at home. i wake up middle of the night or early early morning while baby is still sleeping to pump. with God's grace, di naman kami nakukulangan.

pag weekend, i TRY to store backup milk na pwede i-freeze. i cant do that all the time though because direct feeding and pumping takes a lot of my time and energy so minsan di ko na kaya yung extra. pero so far, i have frozen a few bags para may backup pa rin ako. sana talaga kayanin ito until 6 months. pag nag-solids kasi si baby, baka hindi ko na rin kelangan super mag-worry about my milk production.

How do I feed my 4-month-old if she’s gotten used to being exclusively breastfed and I’m going back to work?
When a mom is returning to work,  it is best to practice for about a week to 2 weeks, gradually increasing the time away from baby until you reach your actual work and travel time when you go back to work.  Remember, you should not be within senses distance so better to really go out of the house.

Hi mga sis! I'm also BF my 3 month old baby... same with others simula ng bumalik ako sa work nagkonti na supply ng milk ko sa buong araw minsan 5 to 6 oz. lang nappump ko kaya nagmmix feed na ako with formula milk. I have some questions lang:
2. What feeding bottle are you using?

once im around sa house, pag dating ko from work, i will eat, take a bath then pump. after nyan, tatabihan ko na si baby at matutulog na kami at dede.

Very proud mommy!!!
I am so lucky that I breastfeed my baby until now.
8 months pure breastmilk and now mixed with promil gold.
sa araw formula sya, but at night it is purely breastmilk.
many of my friends ask me, paano ko nagawa yun.
actually, patience and love to my baby.
in the office, i used to pump 3 times a day.
I store the milk in the freezer in our canteen.pagdating sa house, lagay ko lang sa ref kasi yun ang inumin ni baby for the next day.. 8 months ganun naging routine ko.
I think very effective naman. kz bihira magkasakit si baby.
One thing more, nakatipid kami ng hubby ko.
my baby consume only 1 big can of promil gold in one month.
almost P1600.00.
kakatuwa lang yung experience ko.

Yes pwede pagsamahin yung milk from left and right sa isang bote.  I dont wash it everytime I pump because 1st it is time consuming and if u will store it naman sa ref d rin naman mapapanis yung mga tirang milk dun.  You can wash it with maligamgam na water if you want to feel better.
