Title: Traveling to Puerto Princesa: Pls. Share Your Experience and Tips
Post by: ♥♥♥ RXmom ♥♥♥ on October 20, 2011, 12:05:48 pm
just want to share lang yung travel namin sa puerto princesa para atleast i can help naman for the ideas once nagdecide kyo na magtravel there. we stayed at RAQ Pensionne.. super sulit ng stay. very accommodating ang mga staff & even yung owner as in hands on.

basta if you want the BEST experience i recommend you to stay in RAQ Pensionne.. malinis yung rooms, may free breakfast, may souvenir every travel, accommodating & friendly staff, mabait na tourist guide at sya pa magluluto ng food kapag honda bay tour na. two thumbs up :D

hope you enjoy once nagtravel kyo sa puerto princesa!

If you are eyeing Puerto Princesa,  you may want to try out Hibiscus Inn!  It is #1 in TripAdvisor.

Here is a link from their website http://www.puertoprincesahotel.com/

I have also posted a review in my blog about our Palawan visit  http://juvyann19.blogspot.com/2010/10/out-working-in-puerto-princesa-palawan.html.

Title: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: luk_resha on January 09, 2012, 01:47:32 pm
I was able to book a trip to Puerto Princesa for June one time na nakaagap ako ng promo. This would be our first time ni hubby na makapasyal ng Palawan, so it would be a 3days 2nights trip. As for hubby mas prefer niya na DIY na lang kami at wag ng kumuha ng package somehow i agree baka kako mas makatipid pa kami  ;D tama po ba o mali?

Pa-help naman po sa mga nakapag-try na po mag Palawan dyan  ;D the following are my basic concerns rightnow:

Place to stay - hindi kami maarteng mag asawa what matters to us is we have a place to spend the night after a day ng pamamasyal (since pamamasyal naman talaga ipupunta namin dun) saka safe na mapag iiwanan ng gamit na rin.

I am drafting our iterinary and yung City Tour namin fall sa last day namin e 2pm flight namin pabalik ng Manila.

1. ETA to PP Airport 0840h Monday
2. Monday afternoon Island Hopping
    Pandan, Snake and Starfish Island
3. Tuesday Undergroung River Tour
4. Wednesday City Tour in the morning
      Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm
      Crocodile Farm**
      Butterfly Garden
      Baker's Hill

then at 2pm yung flight namin pabalik kaya po ba yang City Tour until before lunch?

http://www.smartparenting.com.ph/parentchat/index.php/topic,19241.0.html

ok na yung iti mo na
day 1 honda bay
day 2 UR
day 3 City tour

pero kung maaga mo natapos UR, pwede mo na idiretso ng city tour, ganun ginawa namin dati. kaya yung third day, pahinga na kami, nag palawan museum lang kami. may blog post ako about PP just in case you need it. yung crocodile farm, parang pag weekend sa hapon langs iya open, 2PM yata.
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: luk_resha on January 09, 2012, 02:34:13 pm
^thanks much sis... may nabasa kasi ako 2 different blog regarding crocodile farm visit and nabanggit na naghintay pa sila mag open ng 1:30 bago sila nakapasok and thats weekdays... i will consider your suggestion na isingit na ang city tour if may time pa sa Day 1 and Day 2 lalo at mahirap maghabol ng time pag iniisip yung flight pabalik  ;) thanks again...

one more concern nga pa po pala regarding DIY island hopping... sabi around 1k+ ang rent ng boat i wonder lang po if may permit pang dapat kunin. if meron how and where to secure a permit? thanks
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: michi247 on January 09, 2012, 02:54:12 pm

DIY yan.

Post by: luk_resha on January 09, 2012, 03:22:31 pm
^yup sis via airphil din kami  ;D upon seeing your photos sa blog mo napa-wish naman ako bigla na sana june na  ;D hahaha excited ever...  so sis sa honda bay pagdating sa port all you need to do next is to look for a boat to be rented na lang pala mas makakasave nga kesa pag package pa ang kukunin diskarte na lang kailangan kung baga dito... pero paano pala sis like kami 2 lang kami ni hubby mag re-rent ng boat for the honda bay are they going to fill in kaya muna yung total na kinakarga nila before lumarga?
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: michi247 on January 09, 2012, 03:27:32 pm
^sis, may parang mini kubo dun, dun kayo magregister and magbayad, may choice ka naman na makishare ng boat para makasave ka o i-rent niyo yung boat which is P1,500 nga. compute mo sis, kung san ka mas makakamura kung mag agency or DIY. hirap kasi 2 lang din kayo.
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: luk_resha on January 09, 2012, 03:43:39 pm
^ I see so pwedeng maki-share sa boat just see to it lang siguro na ok naman din mga makakasabay mo at mahirap na ;) im doing the math nga sis para din mapaghandaan habang maaga para naman mas ma-enjoy namin... rightnow dun lang sa UR ko naiisipan kumuha ng package para less hassle.
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: michi247 on January 09, 2012, 05:28:02 pm
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: luk_resha on January 10, 2012, 11:36:42 am
^DIY na lang talaga sis ang City Tour since isisingit singit na lang namin eto if saan may ample time and Island Hopping na rin since nakikita ko na mas tipid, if incase na above P1500 makuha naming boat just for us may menos pa rin compared if we will a package na nasa P1,200/pax  pang pasalubong na din yun ;D UR naman I am considering Audissie Pension Package for P4,800 inclusion of room accommodation and UR thats good for two na ...
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: michi247 on January 10, 2012, 12:35:09 pm
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: luk_resha on January 10, 2012, 01:05:29 pm
^checked ysabelle na rin and hindi lang din pala sila nag kakalayo actually yung sinasabi ko na 4,800 package sa audissie pag sa ysabelle ako pa-accommodate getting the single occupancy room na 900/night + 1500/pax na UR papatak saktong 4,800 lang din  ;D im not sure though if pwede na kaming dalawa ni hubby sa single occupancy @ 900 or mag add ako ng 400/night for extra person...
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: iamkiara on January 10, 2012, 01:30:43 pm
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: luk_resha on January 10, 2012, 02:18:25 pm
^kumuha ka ba ng package sa audissie sis or room accommodation lang? what i like naman sakanila is prompt sila sumagot sa e-mail inquiry ko as in within 5minutes ayan at may reply na... other than sa hindi nag ssmile na may ari  ;D ok naman na lahat?
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: iamkiara on January 10, 2012, 02:40:12 pm
^sa agency ako sis eh, 4500/pax lahat na accomodation, city tour, UR, Honda bay, free breakfast and lunch, pati paghatid pagsundo and hatid sa airport kaya lang madami kame 10. masarap naman breakfast nila egg and danggit.. hehe.. pero puwede ka naman mamili. masarap din pala mag rock climbing and mag zip line pag may time pa kayo  ;) 500 each kung tama yung pagkakaalala ko..  :D for me okay naman  ;) don't forget lang na iclose mabuti yung bintana/door nakalimutan kasi namin isara ayon pinasok kame ng maraming lamok. and wag mo rin kalimutan magdala ng insect repellant or better kung magtake kayo ng anti malaria.

mabilis pala yung connection ng wifi nila  :)
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: luk_resha on January 10, 2012, 03:04:52 pm
^thanks sis atleast i have an idea na regarding sa breakfast nila... saan yang rock climbing and zip line sis? gano naman kalayo yung zip line? saka yung firefly watching baka po alam nyo if saan gawi? thanks
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: iamkiara on January 10, 2012, 03:40:06 pm

Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: luk_resha on January 10, 2012, 03:53:25 pm
^ok ako sa rock climbing ewan ko lang if mag ka-guts ako for the zip line sis  ;D pero gusto ko din try para atleast ma-experience... one of the best place to eat nga daw ang badjao correct me if im wrong sis sabi kasi nila reservation daw dito since dinadayo talaga yung place para sure na may table agad...
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: iamkiara on January 10, 2012, 04:14:33 pm

Post by: luk_resha on January 10, 2012, 04:21:34 pm
^ah ok sis thanks... sis aside from palengke and grocery may mga kainan ba na malapit sa audissie kahit yung mga simpleng  resto lang o kainan basta malinis...
Title: Re: first time sa Puerto Princesa and so I need help...
Post by: iamkiara on January 10, 2012, 04:58:36 pm

We were at PPS April 5-10. We stayed at Audissie Pension. Twin sharing is 900/night. Actually kasya na kaming 3 dapat dun (hubby, daughter and me) pero nagpa-add ako ng extra bed kasi malikot kaming 3 matulog baka malaglag sa bed hehe. Its airconditioned already with own cr. About 3mins away from rizal ave (eto yung busy street nila where palengke, resto etc are). Fare is 8pesos per head. Nag-brownout nung 3rd day namin but good thing kasi meron silang generator. They have a smaller room good for 2pax na 800pesos lang. I recommend Audissie Pension for budget stay.

mga sis curious lang ako sa mga stuff na pwede gamitin like sa snorkel, underwater cam/underwater cam case, shoe gear and the like, may mga for rent ba nito dun? and how much?

saka baka meron makapag recommend sainyo ng trike para sa Honda Bay DIY ko lang kasi eto and balak namin gawin on our first day tia!
Title: Re: Traveling to Puerto Princesa: Pls. Share Your Experience and Tips
Post by: Angel's Mom on April 13, 2012, 01:47:13 pm
^ yes sis. Snorkel gear available for rent sa honda bay whatf at 100-150 price range.

Yung trike niya can fit 4 adults + 1 kid. Si elmer din yung palagi taga-hatid namin from pension house to city proper pag mag-breakfast na kami hehe.

^thanks sis... mabait ba si kuya elmer sis  ;D nga pala DIY ba honda bay nyo? sana may kakilala si kuya elmer dun sa pinag paparentahan ng boat for the honda bay kasi sabi until after lunch lang daw ang boat usually though 8:30 naman ETA namin sa PP then drop by lang sa audissie para sa mga gamit just to make sure lang mabuti na yung sure na may boat  ;D  ;D
Title: Re: Traveling to Puerto Princesa: Pls. Share Your Experience and Tips
Post by: Angel's Mom on April 13, 2012, 02:43:40 pm

Kelan pala punta nyo sis? Saka ilan kayo?

Yung 1st HB namin with friends eto yung pinuntahan namin:
 - pambato reef
 - snake island (under renovation right now)
 - starfish island
 - pandan island (dito kami nagstay ng matagal to swim snorkel and fish feeding)

 - cowrie island
 - dos palmas (500 entrance for 30mins visit)

Yung tryke, the usual charge is 600.

edit ko nauna ko post mga sis since back to manila na kami after our 3d/2n vacation in palawan

first day: DIY honda bay kami ni hubby we did enjoy our island hopping, rented a trike @400 c/o kuya alex then pagdating sa lourdes wharf may couple na nag aabang ng makakashare sa boat and so share a boat and win a friend kami  ;D 1,500 ang rent ng isang boat parang hanggang 8 yata capacity (im not sure though yung boat namin malaki compared sa iba) at eto lang may hidden charges aside from the 1,500  ;D later in the afternoon nag punta sa baywalk which is stone throw away lang sa audissie pension na pinag stay-an namin.

second day: super smooth and happy ng UR tour 8 kami sa van and magaling si kuya ariel na tour guide audissie pension na rin nag arrange ng UR tour namin they gave it @1,400/pax (topstar travel and tours sila affiliated) and kuntento kami sa service  :) nakabalik kami sa pension around 3:30pm freshen up lang kami ni hubby then around 5 nag ikot ikot kami sa city and namili sakto naman baragatan kaya madaming tiangehan booth and then namili din kami sa cora's souvenir shops dito ko nabili mostly pasalubong ko sa mga officemates ko nice items and affordable.

third day: we went sa crocodile farm di na kami nag rent ng trike yun na lang kasi balak namin puntahan saka may play kasi nba hinabol talaga ni hubby laro ng miami niya  ;D kaya back to pension kami agad after crocodile farm then after ng laro lunchout kami then namili ng ilang nakita pa sa daan then nag gayak na kami 2pm flight pabalik manila.

personal feedback:

We stayed at a&a plaza hotel and I highly recommend that place.
Super nice ng place, nice rooms and all. I suggest mag-tour kayo with a tour guide na accredited ng tourism jan sa PPS.
Meron pa ako calling card nung last na ngtour samin, maybe I can help you with that.  :) :)
Happy trip!!

we were able to get a PROMO with Airphil to Puerto Princesa last year. For a rountrip ticket per pax, 300 pesos lang siya. We stayed at Lola Itangs. Ok dun kasi sa City mismo. Walking distance lang to church since sa likod lang naman siya. We enjoyed naman.

We will be going to Puerto Princesa this coming January 27, as a birthday celebration for my hubby. Kasama namin ang aming 20-month old baby boy, plus 9 adult relatives. Naka-promo kami sa Cebu Pac, and we are booked in Go Hotel.

Mga mommies na nakapasyal na sa PPS, I have some questions, and will definitely appreciate your insights:

1. If we are a big group, does that guarantee us exclusive use of transport van and boats to UR and Honda Bay island hopping?

3. Kelangan bang magpa-vaccine ng anti-malaria?

Thanks and happy new year everyone!

I've been in PPS last march 2014 with friends and we stayed at audissie pension and i don't recommend audissie lalo na kung may bata kasama, kasi pag backpacker lang sya..wala cable tv and wala din hot and cold shower sa room na pinagstay namin..but ill recommend the tricycle driver na nag tour samin sa city tour kasi 500 lang binayaran namin maghapon, nag lunch pa kami sa badjao seafront na malayo siya sa city sulit ang punta namin dun kasi ang ganda talaga nung place so calming so relax ..on the honda bay naman, medyo napamahal kami kasi kami lang sa isang malaki bangka nung cinompute ko dapat pala nag tour na lang kami kasi 3 lang naman kami.the puerto princesa underground tour, yun ang maganda talaga sulit ang tour and nag side trip kami sa ugong rock.i hope nakatulong ang insight ko mga sis..enjoy your vacation.
