Hi imiyeeyesiam, nick jr is the channel i prefer.  But it would be best if you expose him/her to reading books or at this stage, read books to them.  This will help them develop.   :)

Hi sis! My 2 year old daughter loves watching mickey mouse clubhouse sa disney junior channel. Hindi siya dumaan sa barney and dora. Nung baby pa siya, she started watching Your baby can read dvds, meron siya sa you tube na pwede mo download if ever magustuhan mo. Not sure kasi kung san makakabili nun ngayon. Upto now pinapanood pa din niya yun along with brainy baby dvds. Before she turned 2 marunong na siya ng alphabets, numbers, shapes and colors. Malaking tulong talaga yung mga educational dvds. Sa case mo, i suggest not to let your child watch cartoons such as oggy and the cockroaches or tom and jerry kasi walang salita yun. I have a 3 year old nephew and yun yung mga gusto niyang pinapanood.

Good luck sis!

my daughter Zandra started watching "Baby Einstein" and "Brainy Baby"  when she was still 7mos old. learned ABC's and 123's when she was 1 1/2. sings "twinkle twinkle" and "bahay kubo"(alone) when she was 2years old.

she's now 2 yrs and 8mos, knows 20 animals, sings A-Z, knows (and points)  A-E-I-O-U-B-C-D-F-G-H-J, knows 1-15, completes the 12 shapes puzzle in order, knows 8 colors, knows how to say sorry when she's in fault, and thankyou when buying goods, say please when requesting.

all (i guess) is because of watching "baby einstein" at early age and of course my guidance. i believe kac na when you let her watch educational videos at early age, nakaka-exercise at nakakatulong sa development ng brain habang lumalaki sya. habang nagagamit ng mas maaga yung brain, nakakatulong din sya to cope with stress when she grows up.
hindi ko alam kung dahil sa guidance and teaching skills ko but i believe these dvds helped a lot.

She also like Dora narin ngayon but alternate with the Baby Einstein episodes that suits her age.
Maganda ang Dora and Barney, pero mas maganda if you alternate those with educational videos din. :) :) :) ;D

My daughter is 3 years and 10 months, and prefers Nick Jr. :) She enjoys Dora and Team Umizoomi because of the adventures. Di niya masyado kilala si Barney. Hehe.

Aside from TV shows, you might also want to check out Starfall.com. Great for learning phonics din, and it's interactive too so di sya agad- mabore.  :)

Title: HI 5, Barney TV Show for 3yr old..

mga sis maganda ba ang HI5 for 3yrs old?

Yup! I notice mas lamang ang Hi-5 sa teaching creativity, using imagination and props (pretend play) and dance moves. Barney naman has lots of educational songs pero kelangan paulit-ulit mapanood para ma memorize ng bata ang lesson they need for schooling (counting, mixing of colors, good manners, etc.)
Mas gusto ng panganay (girl) ko si Barney before switching to Hi-5 when she was a toddler while my bunso (boy) naman never liked Barney much and is a Hi-5 fan. I read somewhere na Hi-5 was created kasi the producer's kids got tired of Bananas in Pajamas na.

hi mommyjazz thanks for your suggestion. ibibili ko nalang yung son ko ng Hi5 since wala kaming cable cd nalang.

from personal experience po,  Barney helped a lot to us ng daughter ko knowing the basic of early childhood education How she pronounces the words kakatuwa lalo na when she was starting to learn sentences iba ang accent according sa ilan na nakakapansin sa kanya.  Also when we were out in the mall, etc  madalas may magtanong sa amin if what grade na anak ko, sasabihin ko naman hindi pa po.  While Dora recently lang niya nagustuhan sa cable channel,  few Spanish words naman ang natutunan niya & c Ni-Hao Kailan naman ay chinese..:-)

we have set limited time for our 2-year old. we downloaded Mickey Mouse Clubhouse videos. we usually allow him to watch max of  1 episode every day (for 2-3 weeks). and we play phonics videos before and after the MC episode :)

My 2.5-year old son likes both Barney and Hi5.

Hi5 - son loves the catchy songs, dance moves, costumes, and the puppets. he's a big fan of jupjup. and like mommy ^ , we loooove the first batch.

Barney - what makes Barney fun is the fact that kids, along with Barney, do the singing and dancing.

Aside from those 2, my son also watch Sesame Street.

Barney - aside from sesame street dito hook na hook ang anak ko and learned a lot from it . Until now she's watching it. In sharing, if meron ayaw makipagshare sa kanya, bigla niya sasabihin, "diba sabi ni barney you should share." kakatawa lang. Meron pa isa, if may hihiramin ka sa kanya like ipad tapos di pa sya tapos, she will tell you, "sabi barney wait for your turn." hehe.
Counting and alphabet dito rin una natutunan ng anak ko through watching and some other values pa.

Hi5 - ito yung magugulat na lang ako she keep on singing a song then when i asked her san niya natutunan, sa Hi5 daw. Tapos she learn to love pretend plays through this show.

Both are really a good help in nurturing our kids growth. Both shows may ibat-ibang impact sa anak ko. Dahil at an early age eh na-expose na sya sa Barney wherein wala pa Hi5 before, na-absorb niya talaga ang mga good values na pinapakita sa show and napapractice namin. Pag socialization naman sa Hi5.
Both recommended talaga tong shows na to.

when she was 1, my daughter really loves HI 5, but now that she's 3, she prefers Barney more...both shows are good because it really teaches the child lots of good moral values and it helps them develop their singing and dancing skills...my daughter still watches shows on nick jr , and si barbie medyo like na din niya now :)

My 2yr old son is a super hi5 fanatic. Grabe! Thats what hes been watching since he was 1 yr old. Kabisadong kabisado niya yung mga song and dance. Natuto rin sya how to count and mag identify ng mga things. Mas gusto niya si chats kesa kay jupjup. hehe. Sometimes I found myself singing hi5 songs.

when chloe was about a year to 2 years old, fave niya barney. as in halos 5 times in a day kung ulitin ang isang dvd. but somehow she 'outgrew' the show kasi ngayon ayaw na talaga nyang manood. when she got older and up to now (she's almost 4) she loves hi5. IMO barney 'caters' to smaller kids while hi5 is for toddlers/older ones. both are great for kids. educational and interactive and both have nice catchy songs for kids to sing along with.
