my baby was 6 mos old when he was able to stand up on his own, then 8 mos sya nung nastart sya mag-lakad pero nakahawak pa sa railing ng crib, gumagabay pa...9-10 mos nakakatawid na sya sa crib, pag nasa floor naman kaya na niya few steps na di humahawak...nung 11 mos sya bumili kami ng moonwalker and yun gamit namin sa practice niya, after a week i felt na kaya na niya talaga lumakad kasi stable na steps niya using the moonwalker,  kaso everytime gusto niya maglakad on his own natatakot naman ako madapa or mauntog kaya kinakarga ko ;D...a week after he turned 1, that was the time na lumakad na talaga sya on his own, kasi sya na din nagtatanggal sa kamay ko at nagagalit na pag hinawakan sya...now at 14 mos tumatakbo na, hirap ng habulin :D

@misyelicious: malapit na maglakad baby mo. my son is like yours too. 14 months naman sya nun maglakad but before sya mag 1 year old kayang kaya na niya sana. medyo nagworry nga ako bat ganun. yung bigla syang luluhod pag nakakailang hakbang palang sya then gapang na. tapos un nga nagulat na lang kami one day pag uwe namin naglalakad naman na syang mag-isa. baka nagiipon lang din sya ng lakas at tapang to walk independently.

nice practice din yung lampin to teach them walk and yung guide mo sya yung pahawak hawak sa gilid gilid. my baby can walk 20-25 steps before her birthday.

Just saw my baby walked yesterday! 13months na sya, mag 14mos na sa feb1.. Di lang iilang steps paikot ikot pa sya.. Super nakakatuwa! But syempre need pa rin iguide kasi minsan napapaupo sya.. Been waiting for that moment to come, super atat talaga ako magwalk sya, nagworry nga ako, baka kako matagal pa sya makalakad parang di sya makabalance, parati kasi mabilis lakad niya nun.. Kahapon nagpause pa sya nun sinabi ko punas niya bibig niya, nagpause sya maglakad so nakatayo sya mag-isa while wiping his mouth then walk ulit. :D

Iba-iba talaga siguro milestones nila...

I used the "around-we-go" by Bright Starts and Combi walker, parehong okay yung dalawa in terms of safety. i let my son used it nung medyo active na sya, para lang may sort of independence sya. pero i let him cruise around sa bahay most of the time. he walked nung 13 months sya. tagal naglakad pero nung naglakad na, after a week, he was running na. ngayon, he just turned 3 at hindi na mapatigil sa pagtakbo at pag-akyat ng kahit ano   :D

My baby just turned 1 few weeks ago (June 24, 2012) and she's too lazy to practice how to walk. She only makes gabay to our furnitures and at times, she can stand on her own na. Some of my nephews already started walking after a month lang or so right after they turned one.

Share naman kayo mommies when did your little fella start to walk without any assistance. Thanks!

hi sis, my baby is just 8 months old and she's exploring the furniture like our "lamesita" while standing and trying a few steps too. My mom said that it is normal for baby girls to learn walking a little late than baby boys. So don't panic maybe your baby is just a few steps in her milestone and starting to develop confidence. :)

God bless everyone! :)

Hi Sis, my eldest started to walk at 1 yr and 3 months but my youngest was at 10months, she could walk all bu herself unsupported. Nagtataka nlang kami at bigla nlang  nglakad si baby. Nasanay kase si baby sa crib/playpen niya so maaga siyang tumayo by herself.

Each milestone comes in the lives of our little ones at their own pace in life, dont worry sis matututo din si baby mo.

Iba iba nga siguro.. Pero wag naman sana super late like 2 years old hehe. She's so tamad kase, if pinapatayo namen nagpapatumba.. She used to have a walker rin pero super baba na sa kanya hindi na namen pinapagamit baka kase maging piki. My mom recommends buying yung old school na walker na made of yantok yta yun. mas maganda daw yung ganon :)

Thanks for the replies mommies!

my son walked when he was 1 yr and 4 mos na, same with sis angeldust, pinilit din namim, lol.
I remember nun day na nakalakad na sya, nilagyan namin lampin naka roll sa chest niya, nasa likuran niya ako nakahawak sa lampin, pero wala lakas yung pagkahawak sinadya namin yun and my sister naman nasa front ni baby holding his favorite toy na pinapaagaw namin. then we tried na bitawan yun pagkahawak ayun sucessful, naka 5 steps w/o any support sya nagsigawan kami sa tuwa lol. syempre sa simula bilang pa lang, naka 5, 8, 10 steps muna.. madalas pa matumba hanggang nasanay na sya. ngayon mabilis na tumakbo, hindi ko na halos mahabol. hehe. he's 2yrs and 2 mos.

Then 4 months sya tumatalon na sya sa binti ko pag tinatayo (while hawak yung armpit), now he's 5 month, he can manage himself alone in a walker,,walk & jump.. baka mga 7 months kaya n ng baby ko maglakad ng nakakapit... kasi ngaun pag nasa crib sya, tumatayo na sya magisa eh.. kagulat nga ee.. 5 months alang sya... hehe

Iba-iba talaga no, depende sa bata.

My eldest started to walk when she was 9 months old palang.

yung baby ko eksaktong birthday niya yung first steps niya... Sobrang nakakatuwa... Then after that, ayaw na naman maglakad mag-isa. Parang tinamad sya for weeks. Namahinga ba? I just let her be. Nung 1 year and 1 month na sya, nagsimula na naman sya maglakad. Tumatalbog-talbog pa... hehe... Ayun, tuloy-tuloy na... Ngayon mabilis na sya maglakad. :D

My son started to walk without any support when he was 13 months old.  May konting pressure din during that time because I was comparing him to other kids his age, pati sa akin (because i started to walk at 10months ata). And I think kaya medyo nadelay yung walking niya kasi we didnt allow him to explore.  We were so protective of him, Semento kasi yung floor namin, and the floor mats I bought didnt cover the whole floor so we didnt want him cruising from one furniture to another.  Pati sa kalsada o sa park, we didnt let him walk and fall by himself. I know mali un.  Now I see some foreigners letting their kids be. Hinahayaan tumayo and mahulog by themselves. Of course they were nearby lang and I can see the kids were not hurt naman.

I also suggest not to worry (or be pressured) kasi kahit saang baby/toddler reference book/website, walang magsasabi na dapat before 1 naglalakad na magisa ang bata.  Kanya kanyang pace ang mga kids.  But you can guide your baby to develop walking skills earlier.  Make the play area baby friendly/child proof so your baby can explore/cruise around without getting hurt.

before my daughter turns one gabay pa lang sya, then the day after her birthday nakalakad na sya ng matatag. Maluwag kasi crib niya kaya nakakaikot sya at nakakatawid going to another side which I think helped her to walk fast and kapag matutumba sya ang bilis niya humawak sa side ng crib.

hi mga sisses. I have a question.

My son will be turning 9 months next week. The thing is he is now starting to walk around his crib or anywhere as long as there is something to hold on to like the side of the bed, table, chair, etc. Unfortunately, my baby skipped the stage of crawling or "gapang". For several months now, we tried placing him on his tummy. Pero the most he could do is slightly crawl backwards without really lifting his chest or knees. I'm sort of worried kasi the usual phase is that they learn to crawl first, then pull themselves up then walk, right?

In the case of my baby, when he is lying down, he could not sit unassisted. So what we do is pull him to a sitting position, until he could grasp something to pull himself up to a standing position then he would start walking by holding on to things. So should I be worried?

@ je_anne Nothing to worry about. My son also did the same phase as your son. He can't sit up straight until he was 1.5 yrs old. He always wanted to run than to walk! : )

My baby started walking at 10 mos, may hawak pa yun syempre.  On her first birthday nawawala na siya sa party niya kasi walk na ng walk kahit walang hawak.
I read somewhere that parents should let the babies practice walking ng naka-yapak lang. Para daw the babies can feel yung tinatapakan nila, and mas steady ang footing. Don't know how true it is, but we tried it and okay naman :)

Blair started to walk at 15-16 months.. Grabe lang sa tagal..  Reason? And... Nasa bed lang kami, hindi na-praktis. :p

Hindi ko naman siya pnressure same with her pedia, ganun daw talaga, iba-iba ang development ng bata. :)

Medyo late na siya naglakad maybe around 1 to 2  years old na.  With the help of her playpen ayun okay na siya.

My daughter's pedia ortho did not recommend us to use walker kasi parang pinipilit mo lang ang bata maglakad ng hindi pa tama sa oras pero sa kagustuhan ko na ma practice daughter bumili ako ng andador which is not good kasi delikado.

Cassie started to use walker when she was 6 months.. di parin sya nakakagapang during that time, puro gulong gulong lang hanggang sa maabot niya gusto niya abutin,o pumunta sa gusto niya puntahan.. pero natuto narin sya maglakad'lakad at tumakbo pag nasa walker sya. and ngayon that she is 8 months nakakagapang narin sya, pero di pa sya nakaka'upo on her own.nabasa ko naman sa baby book niya 10 months daw dapat nakakaupo na upo mag'isa usually ang mga babies. well, she still has 2 more months to practice. :)

Iba iba naman ang development ng babies.  May advance meron din hindi.  Pero lahat naman sila, kung normal health nila, eh mag ka catch up sa kung ano man ang dapat nilang matutunan.  My baby started walking at 11 months.  Yung mga pamangkin ko, later dates.  But that's ok.  As I've said, iba iba ang mga babies.  Ang important, healthy naman sila.   ;)

My eldest walked at exactly one month after his first birthday.

I have no idea how true this is though.

My son is now 13 months old. Now, hanggang ganun parin siya...

My Victoria started to walk 2 weeks before her first bday!

Sabi kasi niya hula niya 14 month maglalakad si bebe. Ako naman sabi ko 16 months. Paano kasi sabi nila hayaan lang daw sya mag gagapang at tumayo at gumabay pero natatakot ako baka ma umpog or mabagok sya sa tiles.

Kaya nagulat talaga kami nung binitawan lang sya ni hubby then nakakahakbang na mga 3 steps. then after that practice na sya everyday kaya naman saktong 1 year old eh nakakalakad na sya. ngayong 14 months e nananakbo na sya

Mga mommies question.. May baby is 7mos already and I'd like her sana to start standing on own sa crib niya. So far ang ginagawa pa lang namin is bumili ng foam para mas maabot niya yung edge ng crib pag pinapatayo namin sya. How do your babies stand from sitting position? Abot ba nila yung edge ng crib from sitting position? I mean hawak ba nila yung edge to pull themselves up? yung crib ko yung plastic na standard size. Hope someone can reply. Thanks! :)

Do i need to worry anything ba?? :(

Now he dont like to be at his walker.

My daughter is 1 year and 1 month and she's walking on her  own na. :)  She started using walker when she was 6 months old. When she was about 8 or 9 months, tumatayo na siya sa crib niya and duyan and nagbabalance balance na. At 11 months old, kumakapit kapit na siya nun. Then nung nag 1 year old siya, nakaka 3-5 steps na siya and she loves walking habang hawak hawak mo kamay niya so my mom brought her moonwalker para di masakit sa likod ng naghahawak. And now, she's walking on her own na. :))

^ Nothing to worry naman mommy as long as me nakikita kang improvement. Anak ko din, 11 months na and now pa lang sya nakakahakbang on her own and mga 3-5 steps lang kasi medyo natatakot pa yata.

my son started walking few days before his birthday.. mga 5-7 steps ata nagawa niya. super natuwa si bf kaya navideo niya pa! busy kasi ko that day sa pagaasikaso sa party niya and when i got home, bf showed me the vid at nawala lahat ng pagod ko nung raw na yun. :D

Hi mommies! My baby is eight months, going nine and he has started to stand up and inch his way around his crib. In a couple of weeks, I guess he is ready to try more steps outside of this limited space. Hubby doesn't want to get a walker for baby, since cramped ang space sa amin. Ok po ba ang walking wings? What are the pros and cons?

Thanks, happy hearts' day! <3  ;)

I would advise walking wings sis. Past 1 year old na nga sya nakalakad mag isa and what helps I think is yung paglalakad lakad sa labas kaya sana walking wings na lang binili ko kasi sakit sa likod mag hawak. Maganda lang sa walker, u can leave her there if u want to attend to something w/o worrying basta safe yung area nyo.

My baby is almost 1 year and 5 months old. He can't still walk on his own but he can walk if hawak isang kamay niya or nakahawak sya sa dingding or any object. Tagal na din sya naggagabay gabay pero til now he can't walk on his own pa. Unstable pa sya pag maglakad. I don't know if dahil sa mataba sya or sadyang tamad lang sya.

I do hope na sana he can walk na on his own soon.
