When me and my family went to Subic, we stayed sa Courtyard Inn. Ok naman yun place and mura lang. Its beside Aresi Resto (masarap mashed potato nila and chicken and salad :)) In front of Gerry's Grill.  There's Zoobic and Ocean Adventure. If your kids are big enough, you can bring them to the carting. There's a good pizza/coffee place din malapit sa Courtyard (sorry, forgot the name eh). Sa likod yata ng Chapel/Tent.

When we went to Subic, we stayed at Palm Tree Hotel for overnight 2.7k/night.  Best place to eat is at The Coffee Shop (place of Jumbo Taco). Mura food and big serving.. It's just along National Highway, in front of Arizona Hotel..You can also try Meat Plus. I am sure it will help you.   ;)

Sweet Waters Resort sis....sabi nila maganda daw pero di raw maganda mga rooms...i'm not sure kung narenovate na..

i hope this post about subic sweet water is not too late  =)

we went there twice.  we liked our first saty kasi medyo bago pa yung resort but when we went the second time, we swore not to ever come back again.  sobrang nag-deteriorate ang beach and the house.  they have a big and small house for rent and both were dirty and not well maintained.  the beach too have lots of jellyfish.  we were like spongebob and patrick jellyfishing because you can't enjoy the beach anymore.  there were jellyfish as huge as a volleyball and there were small ones too.  i swear we were able to catch more than 50 of them.

that was 2007 though.  they have been given feedback thru pinoyexchange and thru their friendster account so i hope they renovated.  the place is nice because it's private and secluded.

check out camayan beach resort. it is just beside ocean adventure and about 2 kilometers after zoobic. the rooms are well-maintained. the restaurant serves real good food plus their overnight package includes a buffet type breakfast. we were there last april, we rented a room with two queen-sized beds, wi-fi ready, has a satellite tv, and an airconditioning unit. it cost us P5,500(my wife and my 2yo kid). an extra individual was charged P550(the yaya). book way ahead of your scheduled stay because chances are, you will have to wait for a vacant slot in their reservations. check in time is at 2pm(ample time to go to zoobic and then watch the dolphins at ocean adventure) and check out is at 12 noon the following day.

if my memory serves me right, ocean adventure'e entrance fee is at P500 and around P400 for kids. we weren't able to go there because there were so many people that time. if we only knew, we would have gone there in the morning before we checked in at camayan, not on the afternoon of the day we left. that goes the same for zoobic. now we know what to do the next time we plan to go to subic again, thats why i suggest that you and your family be at subic earlier than the check in time. :)

by the way ocean adventure is just adjacent to the camayan parking lot.  :)

have fun!

Okay din kasi ang night life sa Olongapo or sa SBMA mismo. Try mo sis itong Subic Park Hotel. Eto yung website: http://www.subicparkhotel.com (http://www.subicparkhotel.com)

will go to subic this december with my husband and son. aside from the hotel mentioned above, do you have other suggestions? budget is P2,700. that is the rate from Subic Park Hotel, nakita ko kase na pasok sa budget na maganda, with bath tub and pool na yun. baka sakaling may iba pang iba. any help will be appreciated. thank you.

sis vanenie,

Hotels Subic Bay Freeport Area
Hotels Barretto, Baloy Area (Outside SBFZ)
Olongapo City Accommodations
Housing Accommodations

Ang main gate ng SBFZ, as in main thoroughfare e sa Olongapo City makikita, Yung Zoobic Safari at Ocean Adventure, may daan from Olongapo City, pwede rin from Tipo or from Morong.

Hotels Subic Bay Freeport Area

Hotels Barretto, Baloy Area (Outside SBFZ)

Olongapo City Accommodations

Housing Accommodations
- sa SBFZ kasi sis, puwede kang makakuha nang bahay for lease ng ilang years like yung Dad nila Gretchen Barretto na former chairman ng SBFZ e may house dun. parang vacation house nila. may iba naman na pwedeng i-rent over the weekends. fully-furnished na houses yun sis ha. dati yung family namin, mga 20 kami, ganito ang kinukuha, kasi may sariling kitchen na may ref at stove at mga 3 bedrooms na. tipid kasi pwedeng magluto na lang kami, at centralized aircons pa yun ha. not sure lang kung ganun pa rin. Binictican housing yung pinupuntahan namin, para siyang subdivision na housing units. bundok area din siya sis kaya lang I don't recommend it kasi from there e kelangan nyo talaga ng sasakyan papunta sa lahat ng gagalaan.

anyway, nagets mo ba sis? hehe if may budget kayo at talagang Zoobic Safari at Ocean Adventure lang ang ipinunta nyo, I suggest na sa Camayan Resort kayo mag-book sis. walking distance lang yun ng Ocean Adventure tapos 5-10mins lang to Zoobic Safari. beachfront yung Camayan Resort ha.

pero kung balak nyo rin mag-duty free at iexperience ang night life ng Subic or Olongapo, best bet na yung Subic Park Hotel. mga 20mins walk sya papunta sa Freeport Duty free then 15mins drive to Royal or Puregold. going to Zoobic Safari or Ocean Adventure, siguro mga 30-45mins drive naman.

hope this helps :)

4,950+ Php yun pinakamura nila. As of now, Subic Park Hotel yun choice namin kase may pool na din at may bath tub yun ibang rooms.  :)

thank you for sharing sis. informative din sya for other sp parents. salamat ulit sis.  :)

glad to be of help sis ;) I grew up kasi in Olongapo. though maaga ako umalis kasi sa ibat'-ibang lugar na ako nag-high school at college hehe nomad ako! anyway, umuuwi pa rin kami several times a year sa parents ko, bakasyon ba. kaya malapit sa puso ko ang Subic.

Title: Re: Where to stay in Subic?
Post by: ondi on December 01, 2011, 08:40:50 pm
oo nga sis, parang yun dalawa lang muna mapuntahan namin tas gala gala nalang sa vicinity. sayang nga eh, may tree top adventure pa. saka iniisip nga namin, hindi kami makakagimik/makakapag night life dahil walang bantay si dion, haha! kinoconsider pa namin kung magsasama kami ng isa pang adult.

by the way sis, may isa pa akong nakita, Subic International Hotel P2,500 lang yun Bravo Deluxe Room nila, naka promo ata sabi sa email. may feedback ka ba dun? malapit lang kaya yun? ang sabi sa website nila, "ideally located in the heart of Subic Bay Freeport Zone." address ata nila: Labitan & Sta Rita Roads, Freeport Zone Subic Bay, Olongapo City, Philippines
eto yun website nila: http://subichotel.com/accomodations/

..We went to Subic last Dec and we booked Subic Park Hotel as recommended by sis Vanenie (thank you sis)..small but very cozy place, may swimming pool and walking distance lang if you want to exp the night life and near din sa Puregold and Royal Duty free.....nagustuhan ni hubby ang place..

Zoobic Safari entrance fee is around P400+++ pero hindi na enjoy ni hubby dahil sa init?? or sobra taas ng expectation niya..while my teen daughter naman nakapunta na kasi dati nun nag fieldtrip nila pero sa butterfly sila nagpunta nun or mas advisable ata eto pag fieldtrip..na enjoy lang namin yun actual feeding sa tiger while inside the jeep tapos tatalon ang tiger sa taas ng jeep (may takot effect)..wala bayad ang 2 year old son ko sa Zoobic Safari..parang overrated ang Zoobic Safari or hindi worth ang P400 kasi ang Camel lang yata ang nakita ko na animals na di ko nakikita sa mga zoo dito sa Manila..although maganda din yun milk feeding sa mga baby sheep and free makalaro ng mga kids...sina hubby and teen daughter inip na inip at gusto na matapos ang trip..parang most of the trip eh nasa car lang kami waiting na matapos and we proceed to the next place...may kasabay kami na nag stay lang din sa car..ha ha..

...mas na enjoy or worth ang entrance sa Ocean Adventure around P500 (forgot ko na exact amount)..we also saw Gladys Reyes and Christopher (hubby) and kids there..nakasabay namin sa Whale presentation and Sea Lion show..nakakaawa din sila kasi pinagkaguluhan as in maya't maya may magpapapicture..parang naisip ko wala na ba sila karapatan mag relax..he he..eh that time may nakasabay pa kami na nag field trip sympre dami nagpapicture sa kanila..

..worth ang travel via SCTEX...eto talaga na enjoy namin ang nature and yun ease ng travel..tuwang tuwa si Gelo sa mga nakikita niya and also my teen daughter enjoyed the travel...

..and sympre enjoy ang shopping..mas gusto ko ang Puregold over Royal duty free mas madami and bago mga selection pero pag perfume sa Royal pa din...nakabili si daughter ng Mossimo na shorts for P300 lang ang ganda sa Puregold..on our way home nakabili kami ng rubber shoes sa Pampanga Stop Over and yun design kasi na nabili namin di ko nakita sa malls dito sa Manila and 50% off sila...

Thanks sa reviews mommy onie. we'll drop by at subic this March for miggy's birthday.

DocEon:

At least 2hours for ocean adventure. There are four attractions/show namely Walk on the Wild Side, Dolphin Friends Show, Sea Lion Marine Patrol Show, and Adventures of Olongapo Jones.

From the theater, natatanaw yun El Capitan Theater, yung theater for Dolphin Friends Show, eh sa sked namin, #4 pa sya at 1:15 PM.

After that, nag sea lions kami, then pumasok kami sa Aquarium, ala Manila Ocean Park ang dating.

Or siguro dahil December kami pumunta kaya medyo malamig lamig yun hangin. Though nakakapawis talaga yun tour dahil maglalakad ka talaga at konting sakay sa train/jeep.

This time, hindi na kami makapagskip. Hahaha! Syempre mas gusto namin yun main attractions na may live animals like Tiger Close Encounter, Croco Loco at Tiger Safari Ride.

helo sissies! Im residing here in Subic Bay, tama sabi ni sis Vanenie the best f you will stay in the Central Business District lang (ibaba) kase everything is accesible. If you want mga sisiies na magandaang place i highly recommend The Villas, maganda talaga ang place ang the pool is good too especially for those who have little ones. Im sure mag enjoy ang mga tots sa pool kase meron talaga pambata and cozy ang place and the food is good din! Travelers Hotel is good too. Hotels here have special rates on week ends, mas mahal ng konti compared to week days. RK hotel is okay din cheaper sya kaya lang medyo malayo sa night life. The best mga sissies if you will stay in a hotel sa loob ng freeport for you to really have a quite vacation far from the noisy streets of Manila.

I suggest you bring your own car here because transportation is quite hard, halos walang public transpo dito sa loob ng freeport kung meron man very very expensive at ang hirap hagilapin.

You can PM me mga sissies if confirmed na that you will be coming here, il help you with your itinerary. Ocean Adventure and Zoobic Safari has discounts din from time to time. Try nyo din Tree Top adventure, its fun and exciting!

@ondi: thanks for this info. nun tumawag nga ako dun may 9-2 and 2-6 silang sked. thot strict sila dun. we might not try the zoobic kc may dala kaming 4 mo old baby. un nabook kc namin na hotel la pala pool, late ko na kc nakita tong forum. sayang nakapagdeposit na kami dun sa hotel. nagbase kasi ako dun sa trip advisor, forgot nga lang na la pool. san ba pwede magpool kahit di kami dun nakastay?

@DocEon:Hi sis, i called Ocean Adventure for possible promos  but sad to say they dont have any as of this time so you have have to pay for their regular admission and so with the Tree Top Adventure. They have an all-in tickets which costs 1,120 per head, that includes Canopy Tour (350), Silver Surfer (250), Superman Ride (200), Tree Drop (150), Trekking (100), Inter-Active free Fall (250), enclosed in parenthesis are their rates for each particular activity in case you dont want to book for an all-in. It will take 3 to 4 hours to finish all of the activities. I suggest sis pareserve kana so that you dont have to wait kase marami talaga tao pag long weekend.

Sis, have you booked for a hotel already? If you want sis, you can rent a house, you can cook their at meron din swimming pool. Its very economical.

hi mommies! we had so much fun this weekend. we were with our college bestfriends and their families. we stayed at the court meridian hotel. the hotel  doesn't have a pool but they have a playground tapos very nice un room na nakuha namin with veranda. laki pa ng beds. for our family, 3 adults kami with 1 4yr old kid and 1 baby. one adult and the baby stayed in one bed and the three of us stayed sa  isang bed. so we didn't get an extra bed pa. i like their shower rin.  then they have discounts at gerrys grill, aresi and networx.

on our first day, we just went to ocean adventure coz we arrived in subic mga 1030am na. we had early lunch at gerrys grills, checked in at the hotel, then ocean adventure. which is malayo pala.  it was fun kasi kakapagod din. closing time na nga kami nakalabas. sayang nga lang when we got home we just fell asleep we were planning pa naman na uminom. ;D

on our second day, we had breakfast at aresi (kasi un sa hotel package) laki rin ng serving. then we went to the beach across the hotel and we tried the jetski and other sport activities and dun na rin nagswim un mga kids. they enjoyed it a lot kc gmgawa sila ng sand castles. then sa hotel na lang kami naligo lahat kc lapit lang naman. so ok lang din na walang pool un hotel namin.   :)

thank you sa mga suggestions nio ha. till our next trip ulit :)

Hallo sis momma_33!
My hubby and I together with our son usually go on vacation and we normally rent a condotel or a vacation house instead of staying in a hotel so we would have the privacy and the space that we want, just in case we are interested to go to Subic, you mentioned in your previous thread that you know of a house for rent in Subic?
How much is the rate per week?
Could you PM me the details of the place?
Thanks and God bless!

Hi there! First time to participate at the thread here at Smart Parenting. Been hooked with your cnversations regarding subic since we are planning to go there Feb 21 for my daughters 7th bday.

She wants to do the following daw po:

1.) Fontana (Water Park) - must be on her birthday (Feb 21)
2.) Ocean Adventure
3.) Zoobic Safari

Please help me with accomodations, places to eat, and the itinerary na rin po. Ive read some post of mommies who's residing and familiar with subic... please help naman po... I need to do the bookings na eh.. We plan to spend like 2-3 days in subic.. please help...

We have this at head right now..
1.) Feb. 20 - Ocean Park Adventure and Zoobic Safari (possible ba magawa both in one day)
                     - Overnight at Overnight at Devera HOtel (406 Don Juico Ave,Across SM City Clark,Malabanias, Angeles
                     - what is there to do pa for children ages 6 y/o and 2 y/o
2.) Feb 21 - Fontana (Water park)
                   - maybe another overnight

Questions in mind:

1.) Directions on how to get there (from cavite-subic)
2.) How much are the toll fees?
3.) Nice place to eat (yummy but budget wise foods)

**crossed-fingers** hoping someone will help us!

Hi hope this helps... ive stayed at subic siguro around 5 yrs. din and me and my family stayed at camayan beach just this weekend lang, my kids' bday din... im not sure if you could go to both places ng same day.. siguro be at ocean adventure ng maaga, and according to a friend who works their 9:30am ang best time daw. sa ocean adv. may schedule ang mga programs, pag pasok mo palang bibigyan k n nila  flyers ng certain schedule mo kung saan k, (siguro for them to control yung daming tao s isang attraction show kaya parang gnugroup nila) minsan yung iba naka sked n ng hapon. Ang zoobic safari tour runs for 2-1/2 hrs. may guide kayo n ginugroup nila pag konti lang kayo may kasi kyo other group and pag madami naman kayo, kayo lang s 1 tour guide. Ang zoobic safari is till 4pm lang so if the park closes ng 4 pm dapat latest n pumasok kyo is at least 1:30 para d naman kyo madaliin ng guide nyo s zoobic. with that i think... (own opinion lang ha  :) ) unahin nyo muna to get schedule s ocean para malaman nyo just incase kung kaya ng sked n makapunta p kyo s zoobic safari...

and where to stay ...  we always stay at moonbay marina, its  a villa like place. pwede kyo magluto, may bedroom, sala and kitchen and bathtub  :D around 4-5thou a night, may big pool n warm water...

we went to subic last sunday for the ocean adventure. super dami ng tao since may students. mega hot hot hot. bring cold water.

best to go around 10am (for the small aquarium) since first show (of 4 shows) start at 10:15am. pwede ding hapon kayo pumunta, may afternoon session din shows.

Eto yung website nila - http://www.forestview.com.ph/

@Mommy G - I saw sa website ng Ocean Adventure that they open at 9AM so first stop namen sa Subic is Ocean Adventure. 10.15 pa pala yung show nila, I guess ikot muna kami. Ano duration ng mga shows nila?
We have to leave by noon for lunch kasi bago kami mag-check in ng 2pm.

mommy france, the 4th show, which is the dolphin show, ends about 2:15pm. don't miss this since ito yung pinaka finale. actually show with dolphins and a 600 lb.-whale. before that is the sea lion patrol, which is also awesome, and bigger sea lions, with more tricks than the show in manila ocean park.

there is a restaurant inside the park but we didn't eat there so i don't know if ok food pero maraming tao din kumakain. 2nd show ends about 11:30ish and the 3rd starts about 1:15pm so may time talaga para mag lunch there, but not outside na since lalayo pa. we had 9:00am brunch but by the time shows were done, famish na kami.

you can see first the sea lions swimming through the glass, the small aquarium (not really one but several in a limited space). the best place for us to wait was inside the learning center, kasi walang tao and malamig aircon. it's more like a small library/classroom so ok for your kiddo.

be at the show venue at least 5 min. or more for good seats, lalo if madami tao. have fun!

hi mommies,
you can try zoobic safari in the morning then ocean adventure in the afternoon.
if you're looking for thrills, you may opt to try treetop adventure.
best place to eat: meat plus!

:D Thanks!

we did the zoobic safari some months back. we got season tickets, 6 visits to any of their zoos.

it's already open at 8am, when we got there at about 8:15am but we had to wait for others to form a bigger group. hay. after an hour na yata or more nag start mag tour.

it's a much bigger place and the tour ended about 1pm.

sis vanenie is selling discounted tickets to zoobic safari.

sis madali lang! sakay ka ng Victory bus from Cubao na biyaheng Olongapo. baba ka sa terminal ng Olongapo then a yellow jeepney ride away na lang yung Subic. hindi ka mawawala ;) then sa may bukana ng SBMA gate may mga terminal ng transport papuntang Zoobic Safari or Ocean Adventure, medyo mahal ata ang pamasahe. malayo kasi yun e.

Natuloy kami sa Subic for Miggy's birthday.

The difference lang sa mas mahal is may balcony. Yun lang. :)

Sulit talaga siya for us.

We went to Camayan last April 5 di nga lang kami nakapagcheck-in kasi fully booked pati ang mga cabanas. :)

we went to Subic last saturday and kaya naman one day tour lang ang zoobic safari and ocean adventure :) we went first to zoobic safari around 9 am then the tour ended around 1230 nn na kasi kasama dun sa tour yung animal show kaya medyo na extend yung time. The price of the tickets right now is P449 but I got mine from Sis Van ng P310 :) Thanks ulit sis for accommodating me sa tickets mo sa zoobic safari. Then optional sa tour if sasakay dun sa tram ride nila or you're going to use your own car para makasunod sa tour. The tram ride cost P50/person. We decided to avail na rin the tram ride para talaga ok ang tour.

We arrived sa Ocean Adventure around 1:00 pm. Luckily, then hindi kami nakakasabay dun sa crowd kasi nga kami nagplan which show to watch first tapos what to watch next. The tickets for ocean adventure costs adults-P550 then senior citizen and 12 yrs. old and below na kids - P440 pag you have a toddler na 1yo free pa yung admission niya. Two things na hindi ako masyado happy about ocean adventure were yung food dun sa restaurant nila were not delicious at saka they don't have oceanarium like yung Manila Ocean Park.

Post pictures next time mga mommies...

hi sis CallcenterMom: im so sorry i wasn't able to recomend a hotel, tagal na kase ako hindi ng open ng sp. I've read your blog by the way. I wondered where is that resort sis. I guess its not inside the freeport though. Im living here inside the freeport i haven't seen anything like that with the beaches here. I wondered why do you think that camayan is not a nice place, for me its really good there. The place is really clean and quite, food is good and the beach is okay.

Well, i still wish that you enjoy your stay sis! as long as we are with our family, masaya lage!!!

may nakapagtry na ba sa mga resort sa baloy beach in barrio barretto?  ok ba for families?  kase i heard most girly bars are in barrio barretto, so baka.... you know....

sa loob kase Sbma, walang beach na pwede magswim except camayan na base sa comments dito eh not so good for swimming.  yung all hands and dungaree beach naman is public beach.  may naka try na ba sa all hands?  4500 kasi yung rate nila ng room na good for 4, may breakfast na.  mura diba?  kaya lang baka di ok ang crowd.

so option ko is either all hands or yung mga sa baloy beach.  ok daw ang johan's sa barrio barretto?  may feed back kayo on this (or other beach resort sa barrio barretto?)

or baka mag- puerto galera na lang kami.  ang worry ko lang sa PG is yung travel by ferry.  may 3 year old kasi kami na malikot and infant na 3months old.  nakakatakot ibyahe ng ferry.  di pa naman ako marunong lumangoy!
Title: Re: Going to Subic
Post by: violet.crumble on February 20, 2013, 11:05:12 am
My husband and I finally gave in to my 3 year old son na matagal nang nagpipilit pumunta sa beach.  I was choosing between Puerto Galera and Subic.  We ended up going to Subic kasi sabi ng husband ko mas malapit with SCTex.

We went to All Hands Beach inside Subic Bay Freeport Zone.  We stayed overnight.  The family room for 4pax has 1 queen-sized bed and a double deck, inclusive of breakfast for 4.    Rate is 4500.  Meron din silang cottages na good for 6 pax naman. Rate nun is 6500 with breakfast.  Extra person with mattress and breakfast is 625.

Okay yung beach for swimming kasi di mabato and di maalon.  At knee-deep, may fish kang makakasama magswim.  My son had a lot of fun hand-feeding the fish with bread bits.  Kahit gabi maliwanag pa din yung beach, may lifeguard so safe for night swimming and beachcombing.  Yung crowd, mostly families and couples.  May foreigners pero families din sila.

Yung room is okay lang.  Parang ka-level ng mga hostel ang interior.  Bed lang, aircon at CR.  May hot water naman yun nga lang medyo nawawala yung init from time to time.  Malamig yung aircon sa room. No TV, no ref.

May restaurant dun though you can bring food and drinks.  May cooking and grilling shack sila pero bring your own kaldero and uling.  May sari-sari store in case may mga necessities kang nakalimutan.  Reasonable naman ang food and drinks nila.  35 ang soft drinks in can sa bar, sa restaurant 50.  Yung food sa restaurant, ok lang.  Masarap yung pakbet, yung ibang order namin, so-so lang.  If I were you, I suggest lumabas na lang kayo to buy food.  Medyo malayo nga lang from Puregold/McDo.

Will I come back?  Kung gusto lang namin ng malapit na beach and beach lang naman ang habol (not the amenities), YES.  Siguro next time, daytour na lang kami dun.  6am-6pm is 350 per head.  free use of kubo na.  Tapos magdadala na lang kami ng cooler with lots of drinks and bring our own food.

Reservation is through Subicom (tel #4044784).  You need to pay the full amount to reserve.

We also inquired with other beaches in Baloy Beach (outside Subic Freeport Zone).  Mas mura and mukhang mas magaganda yung resort itself but our friends na madalas sa area dissuaded us kasi red light district daw yun and since we had kids with us, di daw ok.

But in case anyone is interested, eto yung na-research ko:

All the resorts are under subicom.  So reservations are all handled by them.

Sheaven’s – www.sheavens.com
Standard –P2150 queen bed
Family – P3500 2 queen beds
Extra bed – 500
 With pool, wifi

Ocean View -  www.oceanviewresortsubic.com
Deluxe Plus – 4000 , 1 queen bed and 1 single bed
Bar Suite for 3 pax – P4500 -  queen beds
Extra person 200 plus another 200 for bed
With pool, parking, playground

Hope this helps those who are planning an out of town trip this summer!
