Hi sis! :)

Good luck sa planning! :)

School Hunting / Re: Reviews on Raya and UP PAUW CSC
« on: August 11, 2015, 05:11:50 pm »
This may be a very late post already. Sorry mommies!

My son went to PAUW-UP. Please note that the school is not under the UP system. Most of its faculty are UP graduates but they are independent from UP. I know, though, that they are aligned with the UPIS curriculum. I remember there are 21 students from PAUW-UP who got admitted to UPIS this schoolyear. I am not sure though on how many of the 21 are dependents of UP personnel and how many are non-UP dependents.

My son enjoyed his stay there! :) There are no quizzes, assignments, and exams, so please consider this if you wish to transfer your kid to a traditional school. They use a development assessment tool to gauge the learning and coping ability of your child. I like that they keep the class size small (max of 20) and they incorporate play into the curriculum. The teachers and teacher-aides are very kind and they do take care of your kids. I also like the campus since it looks like a school in the province--there are many trees around and it's very quiet. The facilities do need a bit of improvement and I'm sure the school board is planning for these. The activities and field trips are fun. They don't ask for a lot of contributions during the school year, too. The yearly school play is what we look forward to the most. :)

Hope this helps!

Baby Names / Re: how did you choose your baby's name?
« on: August 11, 2015, 04:55:53 pm »
Arin Mykel

I am fond of making up names. I just mixed up the letters of my name and my hubby's name and read it with our last name to check if it sounds good, hehe. Mykel (pronounced as 'mickel') was patterned after Mikael as I like that name. When I searched the internet once to check if Arin has a meaning, I was surprised that it was also a version of Aaron. :) But his nickname's Ryken, which also came from Arin Mykel.

Breastfeeding / Re: Brand of Breast Pump
« on: November 26, 2010, 09:31:54 am »
Pigeon Breast Pump din binili ko, yung pwedeng battery or with electrical adaptor. nasa almost 3k na ata siya when my mom bought it.

Weaning, Formula and Solids transition / Re: S26 Gold Milk User
« on: November 26, 2010, 09:23:25 am »

Your Kid's Health and Safety / Re: who's using ferlin for your babies?
« on: November 26, 2010, 09:16:59 am »
We've been using ferlin since 4months si baby, 15 1/2 months old na siya ngayon. kulang kasi ang hemoglobin count niya (namana ata sa 'kin kasi anemic ako before) kaya tuloy-tuloy ang pagbigay namin nito. next year na uli i-check kung ok na bago ipatigil ng pedia. We give him 1mL daily.

Weaning, Formula and Solids transition / Re: Nido Jr.
« on: November 26, 2010, 08:47:49 am »
Progress Gold kami before then last weekend lang, I shifted to Nido Jr kasi mas affordable. :) My son is 15 1/2 months old at buti na rin hindi siya mapili sa gatas kasi ok naman sa kanya ang Nido.  Hindi kasi consistent ang poopoo niya, even with Progress. Minsan matigas, minsan malambot, the same with Nido kaya tingin ko oks lang sa kanya both brands. I think contributing factor din kasi yung food na kinain niya that day.

Party Planning: Birthdays and Baptism / Re: Jungle Theme
« on: November 10, 2010, 04:35:59 pm »

sis, you can just improvise. I bought a khaki hat from oshkosh na may picture ng turtle then my mom put a garter (para di agad matanggal ng anak ko) and sewed the sides para medyo nakaangat.

If you have a friend na artistic, puwedeng magrequest na siya ang gumawa, kahit sign board na lang siya. That's what I did for my son's 1st birthday party. Suwerte na one of his ninongs loves to paint. He painted on a 1/4 illustration board. Here's a pic:

We used pentel pens to write on it. :)

for my son, we used Prokids nung newborn siya. Lampin (gauze type) during daytime then disposable diaper at night.  Nung lumaki na siya, na-try namin yung Huggies Dry Comfort, EQ Dry and Kirkland (from US na similar to Huggies).  Pampers Comfort din nasubukan namin then ngayon, Pampers Active Baby na. I started with the active baby siguro nung 9 months old na siya. Ok naman, no leaks and rashes.
