For those who are planning to stop over in Cabanatuan City on their way to Baler, a good choice for a hotel would be Harvest Hotel. It's the only 4-star hotel in Cabanatuan City. I had a birthday staycation there with my family. The hotel has a 2ft deep kiddie pool and a 4ft deep adult pool. Sharing our experience here :)

The hotel also has a good restaurant called Cafe Ecija. You might want to try it. Here's my review about Cafe Ecija. :)

Travel / Re: Travelling to El Nido with a toddler - tips please!!
« on: September 19, 2016, 02:27:11 pm »
Hello Mommies. :) I recently went to El Nido with my hubby and our 5-year-old daughter who loves to go swimming.

Things to bring:

The following were my daughter's must-haves during our trip: Sun block, hat, rashguard, aqua shoes, mosquito repellent lotion, Cetirizine syrup (for allergy) and Paracetamol (in case lagnatin). We also brought our own kiddie life vest for our daughter.

How to get to El Nido:
From Manila, we took a Cebu Pacific flight going to Puerto Princesa. From Puerto Princesa Airport, we rode a Eulen Joy van going to El Nido. We paid for the whole row of seats right behind the driver's seat for maximum space and comfort.  My daughter was able to lie down and sleep most of the way. It took us 6 hours to get to El Nido from Puerto Princesa airport.

Tours:
Our tour provider was RR Travel and Tours. We booked our tours via Ipil Suites El Nido. We did Tour A and Tour C. We all had so much fun! El Nido is really beautiful. Lunch was also delicious.

My 5-year-old daughter's reaction:
Enjoy na enjoy naman yung daughter ko sa parehong tours. Even sa snorkeling sites, join pa rin yung daughter ko. Enjoy na enjoy sa tubig. The tour guides were also always ready to help. Laging naka-alalay sa bata. :)

We recently went on a trip to El Nido. There is a direct Manila-El Nido flight via AirSWIFT but the airfare is around PHP5,000/head one-way.
What we did was to fly Manila-Puerto Princesa via Cebu Pacific (Got our roundtrip tickets for 3 for only PHP9,000 total). Then, we rode a van from Puerto Princesa to El Nido.

Our van transfer provider was Eulen Joy Express. We paid for all four seats on the row behind the driver's seat to get that row exclusively to ourselves (for maximum comfort and space). PHP500/seat one-way.
Our travel time from Puerto Princesa to El Nido was 6 hours.

To read more about our experience with Eulen Joy Express and to see photos of the van, please visit my blog:

Enjoy El Nido! :)

Travel / Re: Affordable batangas resort in laiya?
« on: September 16, 2016, 07:20:58 pm »
I've tried these resorts in Laiya: Blue Coral, Virgin Beach Resort, Southcrest Beach Resort and Nature Park, Kabayan Beach Resort.

They are all okay naman, although sa Southcrest gray yung sand. Visually, mas maganda beach ng Blue Coral, Virgin Beach Resort and Kabayan Beach Resort.  Sa Kabayan Beach Resort, we found a spot na fine sand when we walked further into the sea. Perfect for swimming with my 5-year-old during low tide. :) Pero isang spot lang yon, the rest of the beach in front of Kabayan mabato, recommended mag aqua shoes. :)

Sharing our experience at Kabayan Beach Resort here:

Sharing our experience at Manila Marriott Hotel. Service is really good. The king guest room is tasteful. The bathroom is lovely. The Executive lounge serves complimentary snacks and drinks through out the day. My 5-year-old daughter enjoyed the pool. We were also able to do a bit of shopping at the adjacent Newport Mall. :)

Even pregnant women can have a blast in Boracay. Enjoy Boracay sand and water. Pwede mag swimming sa hotel pool. Masarap mag food trip - many restaurants to choose from (Filipino, Japanese, Italian, American, Spanish, Greek, Mexican, Indian, etc.). Pwede mag pa foot massage sa beach or sa hotel room. Go to Mount Luho Viewpoint to enjoy the view. Sabihan lang si Manong tricycle driver na dahan dahan lang ang pagdadrive. Pwede rin magtricycle papuntang Puka Beach (PHP 150 one-way special trip as of January 2015). Visit Shangri-La Boracay and have a hearty buffet. Pwede makisabay sa free shuttle nila sa DMall:)

Travel / Re: help: what to bring for baby on a summer outing?
« on: April 10, 2015, 12:20:53 pm »
In general, these are the things I bring when traveling with my baby:

feeding paraphernalia (nursing cover, water, baby biscuits, etc.)
toiletries (baby shampoo and soap or baby top-to-toe wash, baby lotion, baby powder, baby toothbrush and baby toothpaste, baby insect repellent, baby sunblock, baby hand sanitizer)
clothes (daywear, sleepwear, swimwear)
shoes
first-aid kit
toys and books
camera
umbrella and fan
umbrella stroller
lightweight backpack

For a summer outing, aside from those I have mentioned, I never leave without my baby's floaters, beach toys, bathrobe/towel, hat and a waterproof bag that I can take along with me to the beach.

For more details, feel free to check out my blog here: http://www.mommykay.com/travel-tips-going-away-with-a-one-year-old-things-to-bring/

I also have some tips about planning an itinerary with young ones. You can read about them here:  http://www.mommykay.com/travel-tips-going-away-with-a-one-year-old-planning-your-itinerary/

Hope to help other mommies with these tips. :)

Breastfeeding / Re: Breast feeding
« on: March 24, 2015, 10:03:07 am »
Pag mas madalas ka magbreastfeed, mas dadami ang supply. Once you decrease the frequency of feeding, your body will sense that and your supply will lessen, too. Eat healthy, drink lots of water and take Moringga oleifera capsules (malunggay capsules). Ako two times a day ko to iniinom. It was prescribed by my OB eversince I gave birth. I breastfed my daughter from birth to 3.5 years old. :)
