Kids With Special Needs / "AUTISM IS TREATABLE"
« on: January 19, 2008, 08:51:16 pm »
To all parents of autistic children, please grab the newest copy of Healthy Options lifestyle digest. I'm not a mom to an autistic child, and I am in no way connected to Healthy Options (this is not a marketing stint), but this has certainly opened my eyes. What's so special about it is that experts (actual doctors) are now saying that AUTISM IS NOT A MENTAL DISEASE, RATHER IT IS A PHYSIOLOGICAL DISEASE," and they have proven this, and they are getting better, autistic people actually living normal lives. I think most of you are already Healthy Options card members 'coz it's a common shopping place for gluten-free food (again, not marketing here) but I think you can only grab a copy if you're a member.

My prayers are with you and I salute your strong strong spirits.

i already consulted her pedia.. kainis the usual na2man binigay niya daktarin oral gel again.. regarding the pedia dentist wala ako makita here sa cabuyao-sta.rosa laguna area.. always naman brushing her teeth and gums eh.. by the way how much ba pedia dentist? is it really 3000 per visit?

It's not P3000 per visit, whoever told you that, it's probably more like prepare at least P3000 before bringing her to the pedodontist. Example, if she needed sedation for whatever procedure na gagawin sa kanya, sayang naman yung ibabayad mo sa sedation kung hindi mo pa ipapagawa yung ibang kailangan pang i-fix sa teeth niya habang natutulog pa sya.

Your baby has spots on her tongue that won't go away? That's not good, go to the pedia or pedia dentist TODAY.

I'm a dentist, and nung nag-aaral pa 'ko, parang 2-3 chapters yan sa books all about spots on the tongue. It's best that we don't discuss dito sa forum yung possible implications ng "spots sa tongue" kasi some would be embarassing (I hope you get what I mean). Yes tinatakot talaga kita mommy ivy and sana matakot ka and dalin mo na si baby sa pedia asap, please.

Hi. Dentist po ako and a mom who had the same experience with oral thrush (oral candidiasis), by the way that's what it's called, kung mycostatin ang inireseta sayo ng pedia, and when you said na 1 week mo lang ginamit, that is kulang, it should be taken for 14 days.

If you are seeing parang nabubuong milk na sores, i-message mo na lang ako so we can talk more about it. Hope this helps. Even more, I hope by now ok na sya.

Pero how to fight yung frustration knowing (and hearing from your baby's screams) na nagugutom na sya?

Correct me if I'm wrong na breastfeeding yata is for stay-at-home mommies talaga, as in walang tanggalan? Kasi po in my case nabibitbit ko pa nga si baby sa work and may private room kami pero wala pa rin, ang taba-taba niya and parang I was thinking na what if I'm starving my baby sa kakaunting lumalabas sakin? I guess it's weakness na rin on my part, better luck to me next time, sana.

I also had pigeon, I didn't like it though. Manual lang kasi yung binili ko, ang hirap gamitin nakakangawit sa kamay kaya si hubby ang nagppump for me pa. Should have had yung electric.

Baby Development and Milestones / Re: Thumbsucking
« on: December 11, 2007, 08:49:51 pm »
One of the major causes of teeth crowding yang thumb sucking, among many other bad oral habits. ;)), I'm not into child psychology though, orthodontist lang ako that's why I could say for a fact na nagccause talaga sya, and it's not easy to correct, not to mention yung serious blow on the child's self-esteem, yan I think ang pinaka-worse. (CHECK THIS WEBSITE - www.myoresearch.com)

I'm not really the expert to say when is the perfect time to "wean" your babies from thumbsucking, but I guess the safest way to go is at 2years old, at least.

She's the one to decide whether you could go back to sports.

I truly respect naman yung lolas and yung old beliefs. Pero on the safer side, kapag po nilagnat tayo after giving birth, it's still best to go to a doctor and have yourself checked, hindi po yung ibblame natin lahat sa "binat." Remember, as mommies, being well becomes a responsibility na rin, we can't afford to be sick, kawawa naman si baby.

Hahaha!  ;D Ganyan po talaga because of your Iron supplements, e hindi naman puwedeng i-stop kasi Iron is the key factor in transporting oxygen sa buong katawan - very important sa development ni baby. Kaya sa mga preggy dito na nagdudusa na sa constipation and secretly nagbabalak nang huminto sa Iron supplements - DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!

Excuse me lang po sa mga maseselang mommies ha, sorry po in advance, me ish-share lang ako na experience sa constipation. When I was done with yet another episode of constipation (whew!), so i wiped my behind and to my horror - blood! Oh my god, am I having preterm labor? Kasi diba, during bowel movement, we sometimes feel contractions din, so it's so confusing talaga. And being the super paranoid mom-to-be that I was, sugod agad kami sa hospital (opo, hospital, kasi syempre super takot ako sa preterm labor, this may look funny pero blood is blood, scary talaga), only to find out na nagasgas lang yung dinaanan ng super tigas na pupu nga kaya sya dumugo. Well. There you go. Congrats to all moms- to be!

P.S.
Suha (pomelo) super helped a lot. Of all the fruits and veggies and fiber-rich everything else, suha makes it efortless again  ;)

Sorry mommys ha. With my case kasi, my OB called me pa nga at 4am (I delivered at 9pm) sa hospital bed ko, she called to tell me to move my ass and take a bath, it's my chance na raw bago pa ako abutan ng mommy and lola ko since very early pa. Although, she insisted on a warm bath, and betadine feminine wash, yun lang. My husband helped me. Ok naman ako (kung naloka ba ako? Hmm.. tricky tricky question..  ;D).
This is not to include pa na I came back to work 2weeks after giving birth (I'm a dentist, may private room sa clinic ko ang baby ko, I bring her everyday with me til now). I can't remember getting sick actually, 10 mos na po ang baby ko.
