Home / House Construction/Renovation Expenses
« on: February 02, 2013, 12:22:09 am »
Hi mommies - we are currently renting but will soon be moving sa house namin sa south, actually house yun ng parents ko. Kaso ang dami kailangan ipagawa, medyo napabayaan kasi. I would just want to get inputs from you on how much kaya magagastos ko. We need to get 2 bathrooms fixed, a dirty kitchen, tpos yung ceiling at roof ng front part ng house. How much kaya aabutin sa bathrooms at kitchen?

Thanks in advance mga mommies! :)

The Balancing Act: Career and Family / Re: New Pregnant Employee
« on: February 01, 2013, 11:46:03 pm »
I was 1 month pregnant when I signed the contract with my current employer. Before signing, the HR asked me why I was not able to undergo the medical xray, I told her that I am pregnant. I was expecting a negative reaction and a discussion na babawiin ang job offer. :)

Hi mommies, nakarelate  naman ako dito. I was in a 5-week business trip nung 10 months old ang baby ko.

Hehe! How was your experience mommy? I hope you managed yung period away from your baby.

School Hunting / Re: It's 2013 Preschool in Bf Resort Las Pinas please
« on: February 01, 2013, 01:47:28 am »
Hi mommyathena1968 - Would you know if Mary of Peace - Learners Avenue has a website? Kept on searching for one but can't find any. Can I also have their contact number? I am currently residing in Mandaluyong but will be moving to Las Pinas in one or two month's time. I already chose a school for my (turning) 3 year old son here (HE Montessori) kaso we will need to move soon. Were you able to visit the school grounds? Like ko din sana yung may playground but okay lang din if wala just as long as malaki yung space para free to move ang kids. You said that the tuition is 2k per month? So its 24k for a year? Would you know the inclusions (eg uniform, books, materials, field trips, snacks)? In HE Montessori kasi tuition is around 50k inclusive na of everything including snacks. I also tried searching for reviews about Mary of Peace - Learners Avenue kaso wala din ako makita. Sana may magpost na mga mommies na may firsthand experience with this school.

I saw another school online in BF which is Josemaria Montessori. Any mommies who knows details on this school? Tuition? Reviews? Thanks in advance!  :)

Money / Re: Baby's monetary gifts -- save or spend?
« on: November 09, 2012, 06:46:03 pm »
What I did and currently doing whenever my now 2.5-yr old son receives monetary gifts is to save it in his bank account. :) My rationale on this kasi is - as a parent, it is my responsibility to give my son his essential needs (food, meds, clothes, etc) so yung monetary gifts niya should be saved para in the future siya magdedecide kung saan niya gusto gastusin. :)

Pero siyempre this is just my pov, other moms could think differently. :)

Hello mommy karlandkadi, yung 1st bday ng baby boy ko sa Jollibee Bluewave ginawa, backread ka na lang on this same thread. We had  100+ guests, mix na yun ng adults and children. We occupied yung 2 party rooms nila, so yung buong second floor exclusive samin.

Hi sis mgaguas, naku, too late na! 2011 pa yun. Hehe! Di ko rin naisip na tawagan to claim it. :( Sayang! Pero ok na rin, next time I'll be mindful sa mga ganun kahit na pagod and windang! Hehe!

We celebrated my son's 1st bday at Jollibee Bluewave. We occupied yung buong 2nd floor (2 party rooms) kasi we had 100+ guests. Nagkasya naman sila though tabi tabi talaga ang tables and medyo mahirap kumilos. Good thing there's a playground (kiddieland) sa 2nd floor which was exclusively used by us during the duration of the party. So yung ibang kids/guests dun nagstay. We also had a photobooth, we paid lang I think 100 pesos for electricity. DIY ang balloons and candy buffet namin, no additional charge. We also provided our own giveaways and prizes. We also paid 1k ata for Jollibee (mascot) to be present the whole duration of the party. Ok naman kasi halos lahat may pictures with Jollibee! :)

Hehe! Tpos after ng party, we settled the payment na. SInce sobrang pagod na kami, we forgot about the gift from Jollibee. Di rin pinaalala samin so wala, di na namin nakuha!  :(

Overall naman, the venue is good. No problem sa parking since may ample parking slots sa bluewave. The food is ok din. Sobra sobra pa nga eh, lahat ng guests may take home. And we paid a lot less than having it elsewhere. As far as I remember, 15-20k lang nagastos namin for 100+pax at sobra sobra na ang food nun.  :)

Hi mommies! Mahihirapan kami ibyahe yung cake. I haven't experienced yung tumitigas yung cake pag nilagay sa fridge, siguro kasi max 1-2days lang nasa fridge yung cake then ubos na. :)

I order from their main store sa pasig. What I do is I bring the exact picture of the cake design I want then ipapacopy ko sa kanila. Wala naman ako naging issue with them following the design I wanted. As much as possible, I use simpler designs para makuha nila.

Ito yung 2nd bday cake ng son ko, yung left pic is the actual cake made by IKO's and yung sa right is yung cake design. Hawig naman though not exactly. :)

Below naman is the baptismal cake and cupcakes. Pocoyo cake, hawig din naman. :)

Travel / Re: HK Disneyland trip
« on: September 18, 2012, 11:00:51 pm »
We're scheduled to go to HongKong on nov.16-19.

HK Disneyland talaga ang target namin so 1 whole day iaallot namin for that, planning to spend our Saturday there. Marami ba masyadong tao dun pag Saturday?

Do you have suggestions on where we could go ng Sunday? Ok ba ang OceanPark?

Any suggestion din for a good place to stay? Yung cheap lang sana but clean and accessible sa transpo. I'll be traveling with my hubby, our 2yr old son and MIL.

Magkano ba dapat ang budget? Mura ba bilihin sa HK? Last year kasi sa SG kami nagpunta, 50K yung budget namin sobra sobra pa. Kasama na dun yung hotel, food, shopping, USS, etc. 5 days kami nagstay dun. yung 50K kaya kasya na din sa HK provided less than 4 days lang kami pero plus 1 pax since kasama c MIL.

Sorry dami ko tanong ah. Excited lang for the trip kahit medyo matagal pa.

Toddler Development and Behavior / Re: Your 2 y/o's weight
« on: September 04, 2012, 08:54:11 pm »
My baby boy is 2.5 years old, weighs 16-17lbs and stands 3ft tall. He doesn't look fat pero sobrang bigat. Malakas siya kumain ng solids. He consumes around 40ounces of milk daily. His milk is Nido since nag 1yr old siya. When he was younger Nan yung milk niya but his pedia recommended to downgrade his milk kasi mabigat siya for his age. I'm happy he's healthy and very active!  :)

Birth Control / Re: Pills or Injectable?
« on: June 23, 2012, 12:47:45 am »
Hi Mommy leegirl. I would say pills. Kasi ang injectables every 3 months lang eh. And yung sakin before is 500 per shot lang. yung pills kasi is monthly and yung nireseta sakin is around 750. Not sure if may mas mura dun. So mas mura talaga ang injectables.

Bonggang kadkad lang with Kojiesan and Likas. After 3 weeks, 50% lightening na ang drama. ;)
