Hobbies and Special Interests / Re: galaxy tab or ipad?
« on: February 02, 2012, 03:36:12 am »
i have a galaxy tab, and my 2yo loves it so much. she learned colors, doodling, and now letters and numbers thru the applications. lots of stuff you can download in the Market for free. may bayad daw kasi ang dowloads sa istore hehe... the "bad" side is, i can't use it anymore... si chloe na lang lagi ang gumagamit.. huhuhu...

the best time would be during 2nd trimester, coz wala na mga morning sickness, etc and you already know baby's gender by then. and if i may suggest, buy the basics first, specially if your friends plan to give you a baby shower. baka kasi mag doble2 ang gamit na mabili mo. but since 4 months pa tummy mo, i would suggest next month ka na bumili. mahal kasi ngayon coz of the christmas season. by end of dec or early jan, meron inventory sale sa malls so i would suggest wait ka muna then.

Getting Pregnant / Re: Preggy must haves!
« on: December 11, 2011, 03:42:08 pm »
menthol candy. when i was pregnant, breakfast ko eh polo candy hehe.

comfy clothes like leggings or shorts na pang preggy. bought some sa gingersnaps. medyo pricey pero worth it coz i  used it even after giving birth. di kasi mukhang pang preggy.

comfy footwear like flat sandals or slippers.

of course, vitamins and milk. and bring some crackers or biscuits inside your purse if you're going out. madali kasi magutom hehe.

we plan to celebrate chloe's 2nd birthday this saturday at an orphanage here in cebu, so medyo excited na kami hehe. for those who plan to celebrate in a similar venue, here are some tips:

- book early so you can have the date and time that you want. these facilities have their own schedule of activities, so it is better if you make your request or reservation early kasi baka maunahan kayo.

- ask the social worker or in-charge of any restrictions in food, decor or other party items. like in our case, we wanted to have a jollibee offsite party with mascot, but the social worker told us that mascots are not allowed because some kids are afraid of them. also, with regard to food, they suggested food for us to serve instead of the usual chicken and spag, since some kids are allergic to chicken and medyo nag stomachache daw some kids with spag. i wanted to set up a choco fountain and candy buffet, but they told us that they avoid giving candies to the kids, so dessert buffet na lang set up namin.

- ask them also of what they need like diapers, milk, vitamins, school supplies, etc. the money we allotted for mascot and other party preps na di namin pwede gawin will be spent on these items which the kids will surely need. friends and family are also encouraged to give, instead of a gift for chloe, cash or milk na lang so we can donate more.

- we will be preparing loot bags, but instead of candy or food, we filled it with school stuff like pencils, pens, memo pads, erasers, stickers, hand towels, crayons, hair clips, and a few toys. for the prizes, we prepared board games, jumping rope, sketch pads, cartoon stamps, lunch boxes, etc.

we plan to do this for her next birthday also, pero baka sa DSWD or with street children naman.  :)

Baby Development and Milestones / Re: shape of baby's head
« on: October 23, 2011, 08:52:31 am »
i'm lucky to have my mother take care of chloe when she was a baby. she was so particular with baby's head to the point that she turns her head to the other side every hour or two when she's sleeping para talaga di ma flat. and di namin sya pinagamit ng unan. but dont worry mga sis, pwede pa ma correct ang shape ng ulo nila kasi malambot pa yan. my suggestion is to use the pillow na donut-shaped, or to turn baby's head from side to side from time to time when he's sleeping.

Toilet Training and Diapering Essentials / Re: cloth diaper
« on: October 23, 2011, 07:30:07 am »
ako naman binabanlawan ko once then sampay hehe. ang problema lang with cloth diapers is ang pagpapatuyo. and medyo inconvenient nga sya compared to disposable diapers kasi palit ka ng palit. but other than that, i would still recommend it for baby's health and well being because it minimizes the occurrence of rashes, UTI, etc.

NAN HW binigay kay chloe sa nursery. di kasi sya na BF agad because i gave birth thru CS. then nung naka latch na sya, mixed- fed na sya with NAN, then NAN 2, NAN 3. now i give her NAN 3 or GPA (she's almost 2yo) and still breastfeed her.

although it's necessary to sterilize, in my experience, i didnt use a bottle sterilizer. we used our rice cooker in steaming the bottles. works just as well as a bottle sterilizer.  :D

@meandmysweets: sis na inspire ako sa centerpiece mo. i'll try to make one for chloe's bday, but instead of ribbons, im thinking of crepe paper. mahal kasi ribbons specially if 1 inch or 1 1/2 inches ang thickness. hope maging "successful" hehe.

thanks mga sis for the inputs. ang gaganda ng mga centerpiece nyo. nakaka inspire.  :)
