my daughter had a very serious cough and cold na hindi ko talaga alam where it came from kasi hindi ko talaga pinababayaang basa ang likod niya...i had her checked by our pedia and found out she is allergic to baby powder, kaya stop muna powder. we were advised to either give her saline solution sa nebulizer if it worsens, para lang makahinga cia, but the pedia never recommended medication. i researched somewhere, i can't remember where it was and it says something about recalling some cough and cold medicines for children??? and then i subscribed to a newsletter from dr. sears and read this article:

http://askdrsears.com/html/8/T081000.asp

hindi pala talaga advisable magbigay ng cough syrup for children below 2...aun lang...  ;D

Breastfeeding / Re: Breastpumps
« on: May 20, 2008, 07:59:38 am »
i tried pigeon manual breastpump and although effective naman cia, hassle talaga! kasi mine was glass with a rubber pump sa dulo, and everytime you fill the small "cup" dun sa glass, lipat mo na cia sa bote...i tried kasi yung derecho sa bote na manual, kasi it doesnt work, natatanggal kaagad yung latch niya sa boobs. so after that, i tried nalang pumping without anything, from boobs to bote and it worked for me...

CS din ako and nagsuka ako after...hindi ko lang alam ha, pero feeling ko kasi, since spinal anesthesia cia, kung susuka tayo hindi natin maususuka yung gamot kasi diretcho cia sa nerves e...pero i researched before and nagbubuntis palang tayo, may possibility na daw tlaga maging makakalimutin dahil sa hormones, pero it will soon pass...ako naging makakalimutin talaga ko, although hindi naman makakalimutan yung mga knowledge i learned in school and things i learned before my pregnancy. ang mga nakakalimutan ko lang yung mga susi, kung san ko naiwan mga gamit ko, kung nakainom na ba ko ng gamot...  :-\

Your Kid's Health and Safety / Re: pinapaarawan pa ba si baby?
« on: May 18, 2008, 06:44:15 am »
nung kakapanganak palang ng baby ko, advise ng pedia paarawan within 7-8am ONLY.. kasi yellow pa ang balat niya, bilirubin content daw un kasi hindi pa maciadong equipped yung liver nila na magclean so magsi-seek ng help sa sun. tpos kasi dahil sa pagkasira ng ozone layer, dapat hanggang 8 lang. i remember my lola told me it used to be until 10 nung panahon nila. pero pag hindi na nagyeyellow yung baby, ok nang hindi...pero it's still helpful because we can get vitamin D from the sun, and vitamin D boosts the effects of calcium and other vitamins e...  ;D

Sleep Training / Re: Sleep Training
« on: May 16, 2008, 09:34:33 pm »
yep! another trick would be to wear something the whole day during your off so that your scent sticks to the cloth and when you go to work, use that cloth as a bedding or include it in the swaddle. i used that for my baby and she sleeps better!

call center agent din me e...as in pa-iba iba schedule so my baby cannot really condition herself kung tuwing kelan ako anjan...so what i did was i firmly told the yaya that i'm training my baby to have the same schedule for everything everyday. of course it should still be flexible, pero at least my baby knows what to expect with or without me, including sleep. i suggest you visit the website na pinost ko before this. pero regarding sa problem mo... grabe! prehas tyo ng problem! dati nabobother din ako na my Ella can't continue sleeping during the day. feeling ko tuloy pagod na pagod cia. pero i learned na it's actually one sign on giftedness. ( http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/186593/life_with_a_gifted_baby.html )

so if the baby is sleeping naman thru the night, tpos several short naps during the day...ok na un! just make sure that during the time she's awake, yaya is trained to keep her learning more kasi un ang gusto niya. saka pala nung na sleep train mo cia the way u did at gusto mo ganon, implement mo rin kay yaya! =)

« on: May 11, 2008, 07:42:15 am »
im 5 mos post partum, C-section delivery and yes, mahirap talaga alisin yung belly! as in feeling ko, pumapayat na yung ibang parts ng body ko, pero yung belly ko ganon parin..so parang hindi proportional! I heard about hip-hop abs and it sounds good, especially for us c-section moms na hindi pa kaagad pwedeng strenuous activity during the first few months...haven't tried it though...anyone?

Sleep Training / Re: What time does your child/ren sleep?
« on: May 11, 2008, 06:00:07 am »
me, i train my baby to sleep around 6-7 in the evening kasi ive read books and articles about sleep and found out that babies' brain is "configured" to be prepared for sleep during these times. nagulat ako kasi my husband and i were under the impression na kapag ni low-bat si baby, mas makakatulog cia. i think this is half true, pero hindi pala conditioned yung katawan niya for sleep pag ganon so pwedeng makatulog nga cia pero lagi cia magigising gising through the night...or pwede ring hindi na cia makatulog..dunno, kasi parang ako, when i get home from work, tutulog ako sa sasakyan but since hindi naman talaga nasatisfy yung tulog ko pag uwi ko ng bahay hindi rin ako matutulog kaagad, parang ganon... ;)

hi moms, just new here! happy mother's day sating lahat! ive been reading various methods of getting baby to sleep soundly through the night as well as nap times and learned about the methods mommy lei learned about. But the thing about Dr. Weissbluth's crying out, saka yung kay Ferber's enhanced crying out na pupuntahan mo once in a while is that we are breaking the child's trust to us at a very young age. Hindi man daw natin mapansin yung effects now, but in the future, the kid will have certain psychological issues. Siguro nga there would have to be a perfect age kung kelan we can already discipline them and it would depend on the personality of each baby. Pero for me, i follow Dr. Sears (The Baby Sleep Book : The Complete Guide to a Good Night's Rest for the Whole Family ) and Elizabeth Pantley (No Cry Sleep Solution) kasi they have more gentle ways e. You may want to check these books out or read articles about them. One good website would be:

Sleep tight!
