This is just to share a comment I made in another discussion on this topic:

Excerpts from The Anti-Corporal Punishment Law of 2007.
http://www.senate.gov.ph/lisdata/62415579!.pdf

“(e) “Corporal Punishment” refers to the infliction of physical or mental violence or blows upon a child as a form of punishment or chastisement including public humiliation, verbal abuse, and other forms of punishment that is considered abusive, degrading  and not consistent with the child’s human dignity considering his/her physical
and mental immaturity.”

Sec. 3 Prohibition on Corporal Punishment - There shall be incorporated under Section 10, Article VI on Other Acts or Abuse an additional sub-section (f) to read as follows: ‘‘

(f) Any parent or ascendant, teacher, or guardian who shall inflict corporal  punishment upon his/her child or a descendant under his/her care, student or ward, respectively, shall suffer:

...

(7) The penalty of arresto mayor in the medium to maximum period when the offender has caused physical injuries not  requiring medical attendance.

(8) The penalty of arresto mayor in the minimum to medium period if such corporal punishment  does not cause any physical or mental injury.

...

The penalties prescribed above shall be imposed on the maximum if the victim is below twelve years old, and one degree  higher if the victim is below seven years old.

Sexuality / Re: Purely sex but not an affair

Hi again franchekai,

Sex is a full sensory experience.

It's very psychological.  The effect will be both on the mind and on the body.

Hindi ba naiisip ng mga lalaki (tulad ko, hahaha)...na kung makikipag-sex sa kung kani-kanino...posible na yung makaka-sex ay nakipag-sex din sa kung kani-kanino.  Parang aso.  Parang unggoy.

Nakakatakot.

FAQs and Common Pregnancy Concerns / Re: sex during pregnancy

Ang difference ng sex during pregnancy...siguro eh yung pagiging unlimited...especially during the early stage. Actually, nakaka-relieve ng stress at ng pain in some areas.

Hi franchekai,

Thank you for sharing.

Hmn.

Magandang i-process ito...at pag-usapan nyo pa.  Totoo nakakapagpa-react ang answer ng hubby mo.  Pero magandang point for further discussion.

"Side effects: Headache, asthenia, gastric upset, weight changes, nervousness, changes in libido, menstrual irregularities, feeling of tension in breasts, irregular bleeding."

Hi gen102289,

I can share what I know about Natural Planning...specifically Two Day Method (TDM) and Standard Days Method (SDM, a calendar-based method).  If you're interested to learn, send ka lang ng Private Message (PM).  Kung ipro-provide mo ang ibang dates ng first day ng menstruation at iba pang observation mo...mas makakatulong ako.

« on: June 18, 2014, 05:02:07 am »
Hi sophiegrace,

Noong May 15 ba, Menstruation Period ba talaga o spotting lang.  Blood flow ba siya for more than 2 days?

Mar. 18 to Apr. 16
30 Day Cycle

Ang May 4 ay 14 days before your next possible mens.  Yun ang highest fertile day ng may 30 day cycle.

Birth Control / Re: all about Trust pills
« on: June 16, 2014, 12:04:28 pm »

"Medical and gynecological examination should be performed before starting Trust Pill." -MIMS

"Special Precautions: Before taking hormonal contraceptives, the woman should undergo an appropriate medical examination and her medical history should be carefully evaluated. Regular examination is recommended during use." -MIMS

"Caution use if there is diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, varicose veins, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, migraine, ophthalmological problems and tetany." -MIMS

"Contraindications: Women with liver and clotting disorders, breast and cervical cancer, sickle cell anemia, hormone-active tumors, hyperlipidemia, severe cardiovascular diseases, previous or existing thromboembolic diseases and idiopathic jaundice.  Women with newborn babies should not use the tablet when breastfeeding." -MIMS

"Mechanism of Action:  Trust Pill is a low-dose monophasic contraceptive pill. Each tablet contains a minimum amount of contraceptive substances, thus the risk of side effects is greatly reduced. " -MIMS

"...contains ethinyl estradiol 30 mcg, levonorgestrel 125 mcg."

"ATC Classification: G03AA07 - levonorgestrel and ethinylestradiol ; Belongs to the class of progestogens and estrogens in fixed combinations. Used as systemic contraceptives." -MIMS

"Mechanism of Action:   Trust pill stops ovulation, thins the lining of the uterus and thickens the cervical mucus. In combination, these actions prevent pregnancy." -MIMS

"...side effects eg, headaches, gastric upsets, nausea, vomiting, impaired appetite, breast tenderness, slight changes in body weight and libido, depressive moods, or interference with liver functions."

"Estimates of Mortality from Contraceptive Use:  One study gathered data from a variety of sources which have estimated the mortality rate associated with different methods of contraception at different ages (Table 3). These estimates include the combined risk of death associated with contraceptive methods plus the risk attributable to pregnancy in the event of method failure." - NIH.gov

Annual Number of Birth-Related or Method Related Deaths associated with Control of Fertility Per 100,000 Nonsterile Women, by Fertility-Control Method and according to age:

You're right about the pills. I've been taking pills for 5 to 6 yrs and no side effects were felt, but that's what I thought.. not until after 6 yrs, nakaroon ng stones sa gall bladder ko at kailangan tanggalin kaagad due to complications. As per the Dr, taking pills is one of the reasons daw kaya I stopped it at once. We are now using natural method for 2 yrs na so ok naman. hindi pa ako nabubuntis

Side Effects: "...vaginal secretion and dryness.."

Hi Mommy shelly ohhh!!

Hi anna014,

Kung Apr. 13 ang first day ng last mens mo, ang Apr. 21 to 23 ay Day 9 to  Day 11.  For many women whose cycle is 29 days and below...high fertile days ito.

Birth Control / women died whilst taking Yaz or Yasmin
« on: May 16, 2014, 09:14:45 am »
Hi candz84,

Thank you for sharing your experience in using Yaz, a Combined Oral Contraceptive (COC) from Bayer (Germany).  I agree with you, we all need to be fully informed.  If the Ob Gyn/doctor that prescribed the contraceptive could not provide enough information, we should also read more about it.  We should be very discerning and critical about the information we choose to believe in.  It is very alarming to learn that some are merely propaganda and it seems that even reading the label...the product insert/literature...or the detailed prescribing information may not be enough.  I am sorry if the following facts about Yaz would make you uncomfortable.  I sincerely care about the welfare and health of other people, especially of women like you.

"Bayer paid women’s magazines to advocate for Yaz. Such actions blind women to their choices and to understanding how their bodies work." - Ms. Magazine

"In 2009, the FDA requested that Bayer distribute a corrective advertisement to counter its aggressively screened commercials that were said to be making misleading assertions about the capabilities of the drug, promoting it for unapproved uses and making light of the more serious health risks (such as blood clots)." - Ms. Magazine

"As of January 2012, there are approximately 10,000 lawsuits against Bayer by women who have suffered blood clots and by the families of those women who have died whilst taking Yaz or Yasmin. It is considered the most complained-about drug on the Internet, with thousands of women voicing concerns in online forums and support groups over health issues both physical and emotional. " - Ms. Magazine

Hi candz84,

Welcome to Smart Parenting.  I have also read your Private Message.

You have raised a good point there.  Yes, we are not Canadians, nor Americans.  The citizens of these wealthy countries have the means and very capable of filing lawsuits against a giant pharmaceutical company like Bayer.

So what would Bayer and other contraceptive manufacturers do with all those unsold, recalled and surplus pills, injectables and other hormonal contraceptives...dump them on a poor country like the Philippines!  The government will use tax-payers' money to buy their garbage and poison so that they can distribute them in the squatters area.  When poor women die from blood clots after using these contraceptives...will their relatives file  lawsuits?  Will the Philippine Government, who distributed them...well, would it even admit that the deaths are caused by these contraceptives?

Against ako sa no-rice at low-carb diet for more than 17 years now. This was started by a doctor (not a nutritionist) who published a book which became popular.  Ang mas tamang diet na based on well-established research ay ang nasa Food Pyramid.

"MYTH: Eating extra servings of rice, bakery products & candies and drinking soft drinks in the evening promotes weight gain.

Facts: No matter what time you eat, you gain weight when you eat more calories than you burn off. However, mindless munching in front of the TV at night can push calorie intake over the top. "

MYTH: Carbohydrates and sugar cause weight gain.

Facts: Carbohydrates do not cause weight gain unless they contribute to excess calorie intake. The same holds true for protein and fat.

"The 'Daily Nutritional Guide Pyramid for Filipino Adult (20-39 years old)', of the Food Nutrition Research Institute, Department of Science and Technology (FNRI-DOST) tells us that carbohydrates can be taken liberally, while fats take up the least in terms of volume and bulk.

While the "Filipino Pyramid Food Guide for Today's Lifestyle" developed by Mrs. Sanirose Orbeta's, showed that people who successfully maintained their ideal weight, tended to have a diet that is higher in carbohydrates and lower in fat. This is in addition to religiously watching their total calorie intake.

Some people, however, who have diets that are extremely high in carbohydrates and low in protein and fat, get hungry sooner. Such may trigger over-eating."

"R.A. 9262: Anti-VAWC

Under R.A. 9262 Section G, Point 8, you may file for a protection order directing the father to provide child support. Under what is known as salary garnishing, the protection order may stipulate a percentage of the income or salary be withheld by the employer and automatically remitted to the woman.

Both the respondent (the one who is supposed to give child support) and the employer may be charged with contempt of court if they fail to comply or if they delay remittance.
