Also, a doctor’s advice is important with regards to administering medication as adult anti-diarrhea drugs may be hazardous to kids if not given in correct doses.

You should call the doctor if you see these warning signs:

- Hasn't had a wet diaper in three or more hours
- Vomiting
- Fever of more than 39C (102 F)
- Bloody or black stools
- Dry mouth, cries without tears
- Sunken appearance to the eyes, cheeks and abdomen
- Has skin that doesn't flatten if pinched and released
- Is unusually sleepy, drowsy, irritable or unresponsive

sis if he doesn't want the plain ORS, try the flavored ones (pedialyte). i use syringe for my son if he really doesn't wanna take it. little by little, don't force him to drink a lot right away. my pedia once advice me if my son doesn't really want to drink the ORS then try the "second best" alternatives such as; gatorade, FLAT 7-up (make the CO2 evaporate 1st), frostee, gelatine, and the likes. if you notice that after every milk intake he's pooping then he might be having lactose intolerance and might wanna consider switching to a lactose-free milk during the duration of diarrhea.

AFAIK ok lang yung gatorade. kasi when my baby had diarrhea inadvice samin ng pedia niya yung gatorade kasi ayaw niya talagang inumin yung pedialyte. we tried the straberry/raspberry flavor and the plain one pero nasayang lang, since kelangan maconsume yung pedialyte w/in 24hrs.

hi mga mommies. help naman. im currently mix feeding my 13-day old baby. her poop color is mustard yellow but I noticed na medyo matubig yung consistency ng poop ni baby. so chinek ko and napansin ko nga na may pagka watery sya pero may buo-buo naman na parang seedy.

how will i know if this is normal or if it's already a diarrhea??

my baby doesn't have sunken eyes or fever and she wets her nappies mga around 6-9 times a day and clear naman yung pee niya. her stool naman din doesn't have any foul smell. she nurses every 1 to 2 hours on my breasts and pag kulang pa i give her formula.

my gosh parang konting pagbabago napapraning agad ako :(
thanks po

Nagtatae 4 months baby ko help!
« Reply #9 on: September 08, 2010, 05:54:05 am »

I'm just new here, gusto ko lang manghingi ng advice. I have a 4 months old baby. He's milk is bonna since he was born yun na dinede niya coz wala milk na lumabas sakin. Then bigla nalng sya nagtae na parang buto ng kamatis, sometimes green sometimes yellow. We rush him to the hospital and na examin stool and urine niya, doctor says wala naman daw baka may nasubo lang since dumadapa na sya.Doctor gave him Bacillus Clausi 2x a day hinahalo sya sa milk and also Zinc vit. na kailangan niya i take for 5 days. After 5 days wala padin same pa din pupu niya so we rush him back to the hospital coz im so worried. Again test uli ng stool niya then binago yung medicine niya to  nifuroxazide ercefuryl and pina change din milk niya to lactose free. Now di na sya masyado nagtatae unlike before na everytime he drinks milk mag pupu sya. Nestogen lactose free milk niya ngayon kasi yun lang afford ko single mom lang kasi ako. and i'm still worried hindi kasi sya kasing takaw ng dati nd yung pupu niya parang cerelac. I need an advice kung papalitan ko ba sya uli ng milk? parang gumaan na kasi sya unlike before 8 ang timbang niya 7.6 nalang ngayon nung pina check ko.

I don't think gatorade is good, sports drink has high sodium content and sodium attracts water out kaya lalo madedehydrate ang baby.

2 months ago,nagka-diarrhea din son ko and his pedia gave him probiokids, the one in sachet that cost P75 each na hinahalo sa milk good for 1 feeding only every sachet. para din syang oresol.so far ok naman, plus i make sure na meron talaga sya stock lagi ng yakult to aid his digestion.

never ko pa din sya napa-try ng gatorade,i don't know pero parang feeling ko di pa ganun ka-advisable for my son.
