i read Childresn bible stories and Fairy Tales to my baby now, kahit nasa tummy ko pa lang sya, usually before we hit the sack. and I plan to do it kahit sa paglabas niya.

may mga gifts din na baby books nung baby shower like the Brainy Baby.

I like this thread!

For my RapRap, may routine ako. We eat dinner at 7pm, kasama na namin sya sa dining sitting on his highchair. At 8pm naman, stay na kami sa room namin ang I let him watch the baby videos (such as brainy baby videos, Baby Einstein, Barney's, Elmo, Mickey Mouse) habang ako pineprepare ko yung warm water niya for wash-up. Basta mabihisan ko na sya ng pantulog, he starts to show the sign na inaantok, then babasahan ko na sya ng books. Anything goes basta children's book. Tapos I change the names ng character as his. Nakakatuwa, nakatitig sya sa aken then maya-maya nakatulog na. I'm doing it since 3-month old sya.

Sorry po napahaba, gusto ko kasi i-share yung routine namin, baka you would also want to try   ;)

My daughter loves to read books. Kapag napapadaan kami sa mga Book sale, parehas kami nagsstop then parehas kami may bitbit na after. ;D She's turning 6years old this January and she reads pretty well. If may mga words siya that she is unfamiliar, saka lang siya nag-aask. She reads any story book she seems interested even stuffs about places and planets. Once a while I read to her but most of the time I let her read it aloud so parang ako talaga ang binabasahan niya every night. It's our bonding time too. :)

i read them their Bibles (appropriate for their age) before bedtime.
i started reading to them even before they were in my tummy.

when we're at the office, the yaya reads to them other books, like children's encyclopedias, fairy tale stories, etc.

mas gusto ko i read to them their Bibles so that i can explain it to them and that i can establish their faith based on what i believe in.  i don't entrust this things to the yaya.

mommy marian,

nice idea - do you use yung hardbound books like story of job; story of moises, etc. ? gusto ko rin i-try ito, now that my eldest is 7 yr old and my youngest is 2 yr old. :)

yes, sis, it's hardbound, but it does not come on individual stories.  it's really the whole Bible but just appropriate for their age.  the stories are complete from old testament to  new testament.  it's just one book, and not on series.

It all started with 1 story from Greek Mythology. My 6yo daughter want more stories. Problema ko, karamihan nang Mythology puro bloody (battles and decapitations), morbid (like Kronus eating his own children and Medea killing  her own children) and scary (monsters). Dami ko na rin nalimutan na Greek Myths. Lately I copied and printed Greek Mythology stories for children kaya lang ang konti. I  need more. I'm glad that my daughter took interest in Greek Mythology.
Any story you can share or books from local stores you can recommend?

nung preggy pa lang ako binabasa ko yung Twilight Saga...sabi ng hubby ko baka mamaya maging vampire favorite ni baby na character..but still binabasa ko pa din..reading out loud pa nga e..hehe..
then when she's 1 month old binabasahan na namin siya ng books..yung makukulay like abc, numbers shapes and colors na clean wipe book..then now pag tanghali flashcards and People of the Bible (gusto nga niya siya maghawak e kaso ang bigat at makapal yung people of the bible)

she's already 5 months and before matulog binabasahan ko pa din siya ng People of the Bible then una nakikigulo pa siya sa pagbuklat ng pages and pagturo turo ng images pero maya maya tumatahimik na..yun pala tulog na..then yun sleep na siya..good thing nagprapray na kami before magread..

mostly Fairytales yung binabasa namin ke kyla pero meron din syang brainy baby na books kung ano yung gusto nyang basahin namin for her yun yung binabasa namin

and sometimes

Fairytales and Bible Stories. tapos nung lumabas na sya, si daddy naman niya nagbabasa for her.
