Hello Mommy @mejhez!

Sa St. Edward Integrated School ko ipasok ang Princess ko, start ng enrollment this April 15 pero alam ko nag-a-accept pa sila until now. On-going ang entrance exam until now. Last year (first year nila), may almost 500 students na sila.

Hi,  I heard St. Dominic College iin Bacoor is good.  Try to check their website - www.stdominiccollege.edu.ph.  The school is new but their college is established, so I guess the same is for basic education.  They offer flexible payment schemes for early bird payments.

I heard okay daw yung method na to.

Here are the list of Texbooks for Kinder 2 (20013-2014)
Language for Kids
NSPM SIngapore Math 1
Reading for Kids
Bagong Likha
Write It Right Penmanship for Preparatory
Following God
Creative Expressions Arts

So, 7 ang subjects nila plus PE: Language, Mathematics, Reading, Filipino, Writing, Christian Living and Arts/Crafts. English is the medium of teaching. Okay lang naman sakin kahit Filipino/Tagalog. My Kid can understand both.

PhP23,000.00+++ Tuition and Misc
PhP3,000.00++++ Books
PhP600.00+++++ Uniform (Set)
PhP2,500.00        Aircon Fee

School Bus: Around Minimum of PhP800.00 / month

Keep you posted :)

hi mommies,

first time to post here...My daughter will start schooling (nursery) this school year pero di pa sya nakaenroll...upon reading your posts, im torn between Statefields and DLA...eto pa lang comparison ko.

Statefields
 - more focus on extra curricular activities ( not sure about this)

DLA
 - lower tuition fee
 - more focus on academics

Please help. So by next week mag eenroll na kami..undecided pa lang talaga..Thanks..

hi sis zoie, DLA and Statefields were also my top two choices nung namimili kami ng school for my daughter early this year. Sa totoo lang ang hirap mamili between the two because they're both good in equally important aspects.

Magkaiba ang teaching method nila, DLA is traditional, and Statefields uses multiple intelligences (so more on progressive). If you already have a preference between these two, then mas madali magiging decision mo. :D

Location-wise, hubby and I personally prefer yung medyo nasa loob ng subdivision para mas 'peaceful and safe' in a way. Natotoxican kasi ako pag tabing kalsada (as in major road) ang school eh.  :) But that's just me. Hehe. Although of course Statefields' plus points undermines naman its location along a major road. As for morning vs afternoon sessions, it depends din on your child's usual 'awake' schedule. In our case, medyo late gumising yung anak ko, and we're a bit farther from both DLA and Statefields (mga 15-20 minutes travel time), so in our case, afternoon sessions would work better.

Between which one is mas 'ok or maganda ang turo', hmmm, that can be subjective in a way kasi siempre what might be good for one person may not turn out to be good for you or your child. :) So I guess it all boils down to which teaching method you believe would work best for your child now, and in the long run.

Think din siguro of long term things like financially, yung tuition fees ng both schools, possible increases if dun na talaga until high school yung anak mo. And from what I read here din sa SP yung how the school prepares your child for college (that is if you're the kind of parent na gusto mo one school lang from preschool to highschool). :)

 Good luck with your decision sis! :)

thank you for the infos mommy KVsmommy.. another option pa namin is palmridges...will still check tomorrow if how much ang tuition fee..

Palmridges school
 walking distance lang, di na kailangan ng school bus so malaking tipid..unlike sa statefields 1500/month ang school bus plus  another 1500 if may kasamang guardian..
 according to their website, affiliated with and operated sila ng montessori de manila.. my nephew is currently studying there and maganda feedback ng parents niya sa school..

So ayun Hindi na ako nakipagtalo pa kasi sya teacher dun eh...

:D (di ko talaga alam promise) saka did the teacher base yung dapat na grade niya dahil galing sya sa Montessori or yun talaga yung passing grade nila?

I'm thinking kasi ganito: since you asked the teacher na kung papaanong paraan bumagsak yung kid mo, I was thinking dapat dun pa lang the teacher gave you a comprehensive explanation na, including recomputing ng average/grade/result in front of you.  parang personally, ako I won't be satisfied with just a 'ay kasi po mali sya sa ganito ganyan'.

Ask ko din what did your kid like about the school? Facilities ba? Kasi when I visited Harrell Horne with my kid, yun din ang nagustuhan niya. Well kung ako din naman bata magugustuhan ko din dahil very attractive talaga ang wading pool at parang play area nila sa classroom. Pero sis ikaw, as a parent, if you're not really 'sold' on the school as an educational institution - as in its entirety ha - quality of education, facilities, competency ng staff, amount ng fees, security, etc. etc. - then you might want to think twice about it. Ikaw pa rin ang magulang sis, at bata pa yung anak mo to decide what's good for him vs what's nice and attractive lang, it's your decision pa rin siempre that would count.

Pero if you're already 'sold' na sa Harrell Horne, then bumalik ka dun sis, pa-correct mo yung grade, pakita mo yung computation mo. Or better yet, ask them to recompute the test results in front of you para makita mo how they do it. If they realize na mali sila, then let them admit it and say sorry --- nasa sayo na yan if go ka pa din sa kanila. If kakaiba ang computation nila, and you have your doubts, then do not be afraid to keep on asking questions. :)
