^malapit na akong mag end sa current pack ko, try ko din kaya ang dianne? kaso mas mahal sya sa althea diba?

oo mas mahal sya sis. ang difference eh almost P200. pero para sakin sulit naman. pagkaubos ng slthea pack ko, switch to diane agad ako. 2 mos lang ako sa althea.

After 5 or 6 months of using althea, I now switched to dianne, kase nga medyo dry ako down there. Day 5 ko today, minor headache, and I have yet to know kung di na ako magiging dry sinde me period pa ako today. I hope maging hiyang sakin, although malaking mahal niya sa althea. Dianne is P562 compared sa althea na P300+ lang.

hi mommies, sis lelen dito ka pala.. help naman kasi althea yung prescribed ni OB di pa ko nag try maganda ba? 21 pills ba to? eh yung diane 21 pills din ba? ano difference kasi dati gracial gamit ko eh tumaba ako gusto ko na mag take ng pills ngayon para protected diba, ano ba mas ok??? help naman parang puro bad comments nababasa ko about althea eh, pero sabi ni OB good daw to.

i've been using ALTHEA about 3 years na..nagkakapimple lang ako before ng mens ko,pero paisa-isa lang talaga...siguro hiyangan lang tlaga yan..kaya lang ang problem lang as in every month or 2nd month nagtataas siya ng price sa mercury...kaya sa pharmacy sa hospital na lang ako bumibili,dun medyo matagal sila mag increase...

nung nagpapapsmear akoo sa ob ko,kinausap ko siya sabi ko kung nakakataba ba talaga ang pills,nanghihingi pa nga ako ng reseta sa kanya,kc medyo malaki ang naggain ko na weight..sabi niya iba-iba talaga ang effect sa mga umiinom ng pills,sa iba mahina yung apetite yung iba naman malakas apetite (sad to say ako to) sabi ni dok kung papatulan mo ang gutom mo talagang tataba ka.lalo na at puro fats at cholesterol ang kakainin ko lolobo talaga ako(guilty) pero kung d mo papatulan ang gutom mo or puro healthy like gulay,fruits at fish lang kakainin siguro sexy ako...

Hello mga mommies!

I started using ALTHEA last July 5, and I noticed dumami pimples ko. Dumadami pimples ko pag malapit na period ko and after that wala na! But this time, 2 weeks pa lang of using the pill pero ang dami ko ng pimples. Also, lakas ko kumain, kaya pigil ako ngaun. Hindi naman sumasakit ulo ko, pero lagi akong moody! As in parang gusto ko lagi mainis.

Naranasan nyo din ba yung ganito? Lalo na yung sa pagdami ng pimples? I'm a bit frustrated kasi. Gusto ko tuloy magswitch ng pill. Pangit ng effects sakin eh.

im currently taking althea because i have PCO...my question is, am i supposed to take this on my menstruations first day?i just read it on the paper inside the box..

what are your feedbacks on this pills..was originally prescribed with yasmine but it's way too expensive from althea..

I've been taking Althea for 4 years now. I used Diane before but it made me feel sick in the morning and I became bloaty:( About when to take it, i take mine on the first day of my period.

hi mga sis been taking Althea for almost 6 years now, also tried Femenal & Diane-35 & other contraceptives

sa Diane-35 hindi ako nahiyang but yung mom & cousin ko maganda sa kanila, nagclear skin nila (yung pimples nabawasan & nape-prevent magkaron ng bagong breakout) pero sa akin hindi ganun

sa Althea naman hiyang ako, magkakapimple lang paisa-isa pag yung time na magkakaron na ko kasi may 7 days na rest dahil 21 lang yung pills nun so dun sa 7 days na rest na yun ako nagkakapimple dahil di ako umiinom within that period

regarding naman sa nawawalan ng gana sa intercourse, lahat ng pills may ganitong side effect, nakakabawas ng libido, siguro ito yung pinaka-effective ingredient ng pills para nga naman iwas reproduction

about naman sa dryness, wala akong nae-experience na ganun sa althea pero kasi hiyangan ang pills e actually dami ko na natry pero sa althea ako nagstick though gusto ko sana sa Diane dahil mukhang mas nakakaganda ng skin pero di naman ako hiyang

and mga sis tama sa mga pharmacy kayo bumili dahil ang mahal sa mercury halos P60 din ang difference, ang Althea dito sa pharmacy malapit sa amin P299 lang

^yes sis mocalicious, after drinking 21 pills, may 7 days na rest, your menstruation will likely start on the 3rd day (after you took your last pill) so pag nagkaron ka basta count 7 days from the time na naubos yung pills mo, start ka na ulit with a new pack, pero pag hindi ka nagkaron ng menstruation within 7 days na pill-free, i strongly suggest to consult your ob-gyne

Hi Daddy Jojo, Althea po use ko na pills, okay naman so far wala namang negative side effects sakin, unang nirecommend ng ob ko injection na effective for 3 months but since i'm super makakalimutin (as in) hindi advisable, wala naman po akong medical condition (illness) kaya ok po sa akin mag-pills.

Now ko lang po nabasa/narinig yung term nyong "abortifacient" i'll look it up to know more, thanks po

Effect on the woman:
Ang pinakamatinding effect ng contraceptive ay ang pagiging Group One carcinogen (one recognized as a “definite” cause of cancer).

Paki-check na lang mommy kung may mapansin ka sa hair mo...yung growth and color.  Ito raw kasi ang isa sa effect ng Althea.

Ang pinakalatest na research tungkol sa pill...may epekto ito sa memory natin ng traumatic o emotional experience/event.

Effect on the baby:
Althea, "thins the lining of the Uterus" - confirmed na abortifacient siya.  Usually kasi, kumakapal, naiipon ang blood sa walls ng Uterus or Womb.  Pagdating doon ng baby magi-implant siya at bubuhayin siya ng thick blood na iyon.  Dahil pintutuyo ng Althea, hindi makakakapit si baby.

Side Effects:  Some women may experience side effects eg, nausea, vomiting, chloasma (melasma) and other skin or hair changes, headache, water retention, slight weight change, breast tenderness and changes in libido. Menstrual irregularities eg, spotting, breakthrough bleeding or amenorrhea can occur during its use. Most of these side effects are mild and usually disappear after a few months of contraceptive use.

Mechanism of Action: Oral contraceptive.
Althea is a combined low-dose oral contraceptive pill with antiandrogenic properties. Each tablet contains cyproterone acetate, a progesterone with antiandrogenic and progestogenic properties and ethinyl estradiol, an estrogen.

Oral Contraceptive: Althea stops ovulation, thins the lining of the uterus and thickens the cervical mucus. In combination, these actions prevent pregnancy.

Antiandrogen: Althea contains cyproterone acetate that works as an antiandrogen. It competes at the receptor sites with androgens and reduces their effects. Cyproterone acetate inhibits the influence of the androgens produced in women. Althea reduces the development of acne and seborrhea. It heals existing acne efflorescence after 3-4 months therapy. It also reduces the greasiness of the hair and skin. When cyproterone acetate is given in combination with ethinyl estradiol, it is likely to reduce hair growth, lighten the hair color and decrease the hair thickness in hirsutic areas.
