My 1st baby was potty trained at 1 year 4 months.  OK sana kasi tipid sa diaper...and downside, when we travel and she feels like weewee, she won't.  she'll try to hold it tapos super iiyak kasi gusto na niya mag-weewee.  kaso, nagmimili pa sya ng CR...ayaw niya ng basta-basta public na di ganun kalinis.  naawa ako and wala ako magawa until we find a clean-enough CR...kaya with my 2nd baby (who's now 1 year 1 month), di ko muna pina-potty train.  baka kasi ganun din mangyari...experience ko lang po ito  :-[

my son has been trained to use the potty since he was a little over 2 years old. whenever i am home on weekends or when i get home from work, i see to it that i get to take him in the bathroom and ask him to pee. my mother and my kid's nanny on the otherhand taught him to poop on the bowl. they use a kiddie seater and fortunately, he's already used to it. but sometimes, my kid doesn't want to wear diapers anymore! so we bring along with us a potty in the car, be it short trips to the church or the mall. good thing though is that diapers at bed time are okay with him!  :)

Hi Mommies!

Few months ago, I was reading each and every topic  here regarding potty training, Now I'm happy to write to share my toddler's potty experience.

We bought her a potty chair when she was around 18mo old. Sad to say, she wasn't into it. She just treat it as a toy. So we never used it in training her further. So we tried the "BIG BOWL" training when she was around 20mo. old .The first step that we took to train her, is yung isama sya sa pagwee2x ko or ng kanyang yaya. :) Nakakatawa coz she would try to peek on the bowl. We would just tell her that Mommy or ate is making wee2x. Hehe. Also we tell her what to say if she wants to poo or wee. Pero the progress wasn't there. So I thought that probably she isn't just prepared yet. After a month, we decided then na to make her diaper-free in the morning. I should have done it earlier because that had started it all! LOL! Everytime she wees on the floor, lagi namin sinasabi sa kanya na "wee2x is dirty baby. Yuck!" (i don't know if this is a good motivation or what coz she tends to play it with it. LOL!). Eventually, it went through to her. I never thought, maalala pa niya yung turo namin sa kanya to say wee or poo if she wants to. But amazingly, she did recall it and she would say those magic words! By the time she was 23mo. old, she's potty trained na in morning and we just bought her a seat adapter so she could sit properly on the bowl. Currently @24mo old, we're on the 3rd day of the diaper-free at night challenge! First day, she missed once. But the succeeding days, she's on the potty! ::) I'm happy and I owe it to all the mommies out here who shared their experiences! Kudos! ;D

I was read an article with regards Pot Luck

Toilet training isn't something you can teach in two days. It takes time, patience and ingenuity.

The most effective method to establish a "reward system" as an incentive to use the toilet. Something simple like a small sticker or a stamp or even a chart where you mark successful attempts at going to the toilet is a great way to get them interested to give it a try.

My 16 months old daughter is still not potty trained. She hates seating on her potty when the lid is open, but when we close it, she seats on it. I tried the big bowl but she won't seat on it either. With her wewe, she cries and won't move when she feels wet when she's only wearing her undies.  ;D

my 16 month old baby sa gabi na lang nag dadiaper pag matutulog then the whole day naka panty/short lang sya para presko ang feeling. alam na rin niya na once na napaweewee sya  knows how to use her potty na. kasi nilagay namin yung potty niya sa cr and everytime na makikita niya ako papasok ng bathroom lagi syang nakasunod and she says mommy weewee then pilit niya hinuhubad short dyan at viola talagang nag weewee nga problem eh gusto niya sya mismo ang magbubuhos sa bowl ng wiwi niya. kapag kinuha nagagalit. same thing dun na rin sya nag pupu sinasabi niya lang mommy pupu then pinapaupo na namin sa potty to make pupu.... :)

hello mommies...just sharing my experience with potty training my daughter...

yung first attempt ko was around her 1.5yrs kasi parang napressure ako dun sa officemate ko na 10 months pa lang marunong na ang baby niya kahit pagapang pa pumunta potty :-) pero ayaw niya umupo sa potty or kung uupo man sya para lang magbasa ng book niya...chair pa ang use sa kanya nung potty. so feeling ko hindi pa sya ready kasi hindi sya nagsasabi or magsasabi lang sya ng weewee pagtapos na niya magweewee sa panty niya. so since hindi successful we just let her be...our second attempt was last december lang...so a little past her 2nd birthday. what we did first was had our daughter help me put stickers in her potty...bumili lang kami nung mga 10 pesos na sticker sa palengke na tinkerbell (kasi mint green yung color ng potty niya Ü) para maattract sya uli sa potty niya...after that we started taking her diaper off pagday time para she'll feel her weewee rush through her legs uli paghindi sya umabot sa potty para she'll learn na she has to tell us earlier pa :-) then we give her sticker as a reward kahit hindi umabot sa potty at nakaweewee sya. at least she feels na she's doing something good and her efforts didn't go unnoticed :-) so ayun, it just took us 3-5 days to potty train her...kahit during the day time pa lang...so next na pinagaaralan namin is to remove the overnight diaper :-) but for now...malaking savings na rin yung minus ang day time diaper niya :-) though when we go to the mall sometimes, we still have her wear diaper kasi sometimes hindi readily accessible ang toilets just to avoid accidents but she still tells us she needs to go weewee kahit nakadiaper na sya :-) ayaw na ata niya yung feeling na may wet diaper :-)

i feel if your kid is ready madali na lang to toilet train with the help of some positive reinforcements and rewards :-)

yung son ko po, when he was a year and half cnabihan ko na nanay will remove the diaper at daytime. pumayag naman. gumagamit sana ako nung potty trainer kaya lang ayaw niya. i decided to use a urinal nalang. mga 2 days lang po yung nawiwi na sya bago magsabi. pagkatapos nun diretso na. problem is ayaw pumupu sa bowl kaya paglagay mo ng diaper sa gabi, dun palang sya poop. mga a month lang naman po un. ang ginawa ko pinaupo ko sya sa big potty (un po ang tawag niya) tas kumanta ako ng abc.hehe, successful naman. tas nung nag 2 na sya, kinausap ko lang ulit na, he will not wear diaper anymore and he should wake up nanay if he wants to wee wee. not once po na umihi sya sa kama. ginigising niya talaga ako.c",)

This is my problem right now, I can't start to potty train my 2 y.o son, especially with a new baby demanding most of my time and I'm also working full time. I don't know how to start.
