For the experience of it, its nice to get atleast a nights stay at the HK Disneyland Hotel and then splurge some more, avail of the buffet breakfast (Kids under 3 eat free).

My son was just 3 when we went there and he was so amaze with the place. My husband told him that the hotel was owned by Mickey himself and it was Goofy who cooked the food (My son loves Mickey and Goofy).

Some tips:

(1) Wear your comfort shoes.

(2) The Bus drop off at the HK Disneyland park is quite far from the park itself.  If you are toggling a toddler along, you will end up carrying the kiddo halfway. So, if you have handy/light weight umbrella stroller, you might consider bringing it to HK.

(3) Stuffs inside the park are so expensive. Disney items here in the PI are actually cheaper.  I bought my Disney souveniers at the HK Airport.

(4) Dont forget your camera (stiill and video). Make sure you have spare batteries. We were there the whole day, taking pictures and videos, by the time the fireworks began, our video battery is already drained.  Sayang talaga.  We only got pictures of the  firework  :'(

(5) Take pictures with the Disney mascots.  They have a lot of picture ops in the park, but I think the place to take pictures is in the "garden area".  Have the picture made into a key chain.  Its a nice brag item, since its easily noticed when I carry it around. I think its one of my best buys and its not even P500bucks.

If it is your first time in HK, I would recommend you visit the following places:

- HKMuseums (they have a handful, but the best is their Science Museum)
- Night market
- Ocean Park
- Brand outlets (in my first trip to HK, mga 6 pairs of shoes yata naiuwi ko). If you intend to go shopping, bring lang a few pieces of clothing, pero bring all your maletas. Tapos punuin nyo pauwi.  Just be careful not to exceed the luggage quota per passenger.

BTW, if you are all adults naman, suggest you ask about the shen-shen tour.  It is a 30-35 minutes by bullet train from HK downtown.  Items there are a lot cheaper, its like a 168 here in Manila. You can haggle, then when you haggle pag sinabi sa iyo a 100, kalahati agad itawad mo.  They would say no at first, but ater a while pag palabas ka na, they would call you back and give it to you at the price you want.

we availed of the cebupac promo which we bought last march then we got the las palmas(they have website) for the accomodation of 155USD per person for 4 days and 3 nights stay in RAMADA KOWLOON hotel along Tsim Tsam Tsui ....

Included sa package from las palmas is the halfday tour plus the disney land ticket......kaso bitin ang halfday sa disney land...esp. if december...they have additional shows ....kaya next time na punta namin...di na namin isasama ang disney land tour...kami na lang pupunta doon....

we went also to Victoria Peak and Ocean Park on our own...Its good that my sister researched first.....

Thanks for all the replies. I changed the topic title because my husband changed his mind. Mas affordable daw ang Disney Hollywood sa DL Hotel. We enjoyed our 4 day stay last week and temp was 19C. We didn't take HK tour anymore because the kids won't appreciate Buddhas and other sites. Maybe when they get a bit older. For now Disneyland lang talaga ang gusto nila. There are also stuffs at the hotel that keeps them occupied. I'd like to share these infos about the hotel and HKDL. The photo slide I made using gickr.com

About the Hotel:

They have temp controlled pool so even if it's 15C, the water is at 35C. It's piano shaped and has a wide shallow area. It's safe for kids, with life jackets of diff sizes. Even the fall from the slide is slow (photo not shown). What I love (and the kids can't stand) is the jet-jacuzzi with 46C temp.

Our room is park facing but forget that. Thru the trees you can only see the tip of the castle and the coaster ride roof. What made it expensive (pikit mata naming kinuha yung room because it's the only floor that's available at the time of our check-in) is that you can see the fireworks at night. We love the amenities. Mickey toiletries, slippers and robes kiddie-size, the animal towels and 24hr mickey mouse clubhouse channel. Never mind if the english version comes in after 3 chinese different versions. My toddler still enjoys it.

They have a playroom for guests and holds activites every 2 hours.

THEY DON'T HAVE ROOM SERVICE but they have a diner-themed cafeteria that opens til late. The kids love the mickey bowl and cutleries.

HKDL

If you've been to other DLs, don't compare HKDL in terms of size. I was told before that 1 day is enough to see it all. It was 19C this season and they have additional attractions like "kulit" elves everywhere, a tree lighting attraction with dancers in unison and soap snow. I thought it was real snow because it was cold. It's just the temp getting colder at night. The kids love the snow fall, they wouldn't quit even when it drizzles occassionally. They played til it's time for the fireworks. Ayan tuloy, nilagnat panganay ko late that night. Buti nalang equipped si Mommy ng Calpol.

With a toddler in tow, you can't stand in line for photo op so we had Hubby do that while we stroll. When he's close to the characters, that's when we head for the shots. My toddler boy also can't stand being closely surrounded by people so we had a hard time sitting in theaters. I was directed by the usher to position myself near the exit so we can use it should he throw a tantrum. We watched the show standing up, away from seated Dada and daughter. All Disney staff are nice. My boy enjoyed the show too.

The fireworks are nice, like those in MOA weekends. It makes me proud as a Filipino that ours is better watching the Phils presentation at Pyrolympics. Bakit ako disappointed? Kasi sa Orlando, naiyak ako sa presentation nila, and this one in HK didn't make me feel any close to that. Sabi na kasi huwag i-compare eh. Or maybe, I was so tired on my feet all day I took it on the fireworks and snow.

I've no idea how much it cost my husband. He didn't get any package. He did the bookings himself online with PAL and the hotel. Ayoko tanungin baka ako singilin.

My daughter asked when we'll go back. Her Dada said on her graduation. She got excited thinking it will be this March not knowing she has to wait 5 more years to graduate from 6th grade.

We're booked for HKDL this March. We didn't get any package. Most packages kasi na nakikita namin, mix of downtown trip. We've decided na purely Disneyland lang. Saka na lang kami pupunta sa downtown HK, kapag malaki na si bunso.  Mahirap pa-transport-transport kapag may baby eh. As of now, kay Mickey lang sila interested.  We'll be staying in Disneyland Hollywood Hotel.  Since we booked the hotel separately, medyo mahal. But they have this promo until April 1 na 25% off, so na-avail namin yun so okay na din.  :)   Cebu Pacific lang yun airplane na kinuha namin para cheaper.

Sisses, hand-carry lang ang stroller sa Cebu Pac, right?
First time ko na magtratravel with a baby eh.
Saka, would you know kung pwede magdala ng babyhaler at nebulizer.  (for emergency lang naman yun).. pero di bale, magpapa-reseta na lang kami sa doctor before kami umalis.
And also, pano yung water for baby's milk?  I mean, may nabibilhan ba doon or pwede kami magdala ng water?

Remember, Cebu Pacific is a "bring your baon" airline.
About the airline policy on water, nebulizer, etc., better inquire with the airline nalang. It's best to have a prescription for any medicine you take to another country. Iba-iba and policy per airline lalo na about stroller. Some airline would allow only the "umbrella type", others don't allow it at all. If you need to check-in your stroller, make sure you have a box or a storage for it. Kasi common problem yung pag labas ng stroller sa carousel, sira na yung parts kasi napatungan sa cargo. Cebu Pacific can be flexible with hand carry kung hindi puno and cabin.

Disneyland Hollywood Hotel's location doesn't have a nearby resto or stores. Better buy supplies at HKIA (parang mall naman yun eh) on your arrival you can take to your hotel like snacks, bread sandwiches, cup noodles, chips, bottles of water, cartons of juice. Kasi ang price sa hotel ng 1 small kellogs box is like 3x the price outside. May coffee and tea bags naman sa room, a kettle and 2 small bottles of water. Replaceable yun pag nilinis ng housekeeping ang room.
And note: WALA SILANG ROOM SERVICE kaya you need food stocks. Their diner naman is open til late.
