I saved this past reply for a Smartie in case anyone scouts for a preschool in Makati in the future.

Madaming pre-school in Makati. we
live in San Antonio Village so these are the schools close to our place. I
referred to the leaflets I collect all summer.
1) Think and Try is highly recommended by a lot of Parents which is
P35K/year but I heard hindi airconditioned ang room.
2) Smart Reader Kids at Kamagong cor. Baticulin St. near Z. Roxas 8963946, 8971166
tuition is P38-40K. Nice itong school na ito. They have 3 diff classrooms with themed painting on the walls. Yung math class room has triangle, circle and rectangle shaped tables. English classroom has mothergoose charecter on the walls and Filipino classroom has a native touch. The center of the school is the play area with little tyke slide.
3) My daughter was 3 when she attended nursery at Innerwheel at Sacred Heart
street, San Antonio Village. 8958183, 8996342. Airconditioned room, nice building with
spacious hall, open playground. P25K/year.
4) Globe Academy at Estrella St. In SAV near P. Tamo accepts pre-nursery 1.9
y.o.- 5564944. I think it's founded by a Chinese but accepts all racial background.
5) Tic Tac Tots at Citiland Buliding accross Don Bosco Makati. Their space
is small but maybe they limit their pupils. Their tuition is at 20K -
8128317
6) Kids@Playschool at Calantas St. San Antonio Village (near the old SM ACA at Z. Roxas-Mayapis St. near San Andres), 40K tuition, 8951105. School run by UP grads with background on childhood development and education. They don't require uniform and accepts 2 y.o. maximum 7 pupils/ teacher, they have helpers who can change toddler's nappy. They also have summer programs at 3.5K/10 sessions at 3x/week. Summer programs are arts and crafts, cooking, waterplay, music and movement, storytelling and reading.

Wow! Thanks for the list! I've been wondering about this for sometime now because my daughter, Mika, is turning 3 next year and I wasn't sure if we'll be sending her to school na. She's turning 3 on July pa eh. Baka it's too soon for her to start next year.  :)

Thank you so much for the list of Makati pre-schools. It is very timely cause i've been looking for a pre-school for my 3-year old son around that area and with the budget around that range. Your added descriptions per school are very helpful and saved me a lot of time in scouting for a new school.. ;)

hi Mommy Jazz,
just want to ask you to elaborate on your experience with Innerwheel. I'll visit it with my daughter this week, kinder sya. How do you find the teachers and their way of teaching? Did your daughter have books as a Nursery student? Binabaha ba yung street?

sorry for the questions. just want to have a more infor about the school.
thank you in advance!

Maganda ang school building ng Innerwheel. Classrooms are airconditioned, they have a spacious hall, open air playground, indoor and outdoor stage and nice activities like Linngo ng Wika, Christmas Program, Fieldtrip and of course Graduation. If time permits, United Nations din. Wala lang sila the year my daughter was there because it was the monsoon season and classes are always cancelled. Hindi po binabaha doon.
Pansin ko lang, kahit sa nursery, medyo loaded sila. I find their teaching traditional and they even have and Pilipino subject in Nursery. When I transferred my daughter, sa bagong school niya, Kinder walang Pilipino and there are fewer subjects.
Innerwheel is not so strict when it comes to Bday parties (you can have a party if you like).
My daughter learned a lot naman as a nursery at Innerwheel kaya when I transferred her, she's easy to teach and most of the subjects are parang review nalang sa kaniya. She even topped her Kinder class.
Do PM me for more pros and cons info.

Thanks Mommy Jazz for the quick reply. It is one of the schools we are considering since most schools in the area are very expensive.

Hello MommyJazz,

I'm new here and I really found this forum very helpful especially now that we're scouting for a school within the San Antonio area. We'll be sending our 3 year old son to school next schoolyear, which kinda makes me worried kasi he'll be 4.8 yrs old by then. We just transferred to a new apartment in Baticulin last month (we're from Bulacan) and na-late kami sa enrollment.

I would just like to ask if Innerwheel accepts kids for their kinder 1 class even if wala pang prior schooling yung bata? Also, between I Am & I Can and Innerwheel, which do you think is better?

Many thanks!

Thanks for PM MommyJazz! We're leaning more towards I am & I can kasi mas malapit sya. Nag-inquire ako sa Smart Reader kaso they dont accept late enrollees. OK din sana KIDS in Day School pero their tuition for this year is 48K na.

Ok po ba facilities ng I am & I can like classrooms, ventilation? How many teachers per class and how many per class? And usually po ano ang sched ng classes?

Many thanks again!

Smart Readers and Kids in Day School are impressive schools you can't compare with I am and I can. I checked out those schools din and it's expensive though maganda talaga yung school. I figured, I'd rather save and enter my daughter at an expensive school when she gets older. I am and I can teacher-student ratio is like 1 is to 12, parang ganon. This year they have 4 nursery, 11 kinder and 4 prep pupils. Kinder and Prep class is from 8-10:30, nursery at 10-12PM. Monday is PE day with class at 10-12PM for all levels. Aircon naman po yung class room, big with a divider to separate kinder and prep class. Better check out the school muna and see if OK lang sayo yung place.

The given Tuition fee on the 1st post for I am and I can includes books. Both Innerwheel and I am and I can accepts late enrolees

Hello MommyJazz,

I just want to update you na na-enroll ko na son ko sa Iam & I can last Monday lang. He's the 5th student in the nursery class. I like the school.. hindi sya gaanong intimidating esp. since my son is kinda scared since this is his first time. He insists in having his nanny or his dad inside the classroom with him during class. Medyo pahirapan lang talaga sa umaga kasi ayaw pumasok. Sana in a few weeks, ok na sya.

Ask ko lang po where are you planning to send your kid when she finishes pre-school? I dont see a lot of elementary schools kasi around the San Antonio area (add to the fact na we just moved here recently).

Thanks a lot!

Hi! Where is I Am and I Can located?

Sayang, I didn't get the chance to visit this school when I was looking around for a school for my daughter. I finally enroled her in Smart Reader Kids.

:)
