Pregnancy and labor fears, cheers and worries
« on: September 03, 2008, 02:16:27 pm »

Hi to all moms. I am a new member here at smart parenting. The topic I am posting is my current dilemma - as the title says so. When I got pregnant, I think I have been the most paranoid person. I can't overcome all the fears and worries I have since and until now that I am on my 30th week. No matter how hard I pray I still can think of negative things. I have this fear that something bad will happen to my baby or one of us will be in a critical condition when I am to give birth as there is a saying that "kapag nanganganak ang isang nanay nasa hukay ang isa niyang paa." Some of which are baby will come out with a disease or "kapansanan" i.e. cleft lip, sepsis etc. or that the umbilical cord will impose a danger to the baby during labor (masasakal). Basta sobrang praning ko. I do not know if this is normal to all expectant moms o ako lang ang sobrang ganito kanegative magisip. Need your advice. I really wanted to overcome these fears and worries. They make me "sick".  :-[ Thanks!

hi sis... naku, it's ok to be a bit worried specially if you're a 1st time mom but don't let it get to the point na nagiging paranoid ka na kasi makakaaffect na rin yun (in some point) sa delivery mo...

tip lang, try to read books & articles (yun positive naman ha?:)) about delivery and if you have a circle of friends na moms na rin, talk to them about their experiences.

having a baby is the best thing in the world and you should enjoy it (& the delivery) while it lasts (?!?!?!?) :)

pray din sis... hope everything goes well! :)

Hi sis! Im on 27th weeks now.

His mercy and everything will run smoothly  :-*

@moi angels and sooswetmom:
I believe, think positive to attract positive vibes. Bakit ba kasi nagpapakapraning ako eh every check up ko naman lagi maganda result. I'll try not to think of all these negative things (hingang hehe) Thanks!

Hi sis im on my 27th week...

I am too scared as well... pero not naman na ganyan ang iniisip ko... If you're well nourished and lahat naman sinunod mo ang sinabe ng OB mo, i tdont think you'll have a problem...

All you have to do is PRAY...

I believe in prayers....

please sis wag naman ganyan ang pag iisip mo... think of 12yo---up na nanganganak na kinaya nila.. tayo pa kaya?

basta pray!

Yup pray. Before I got pregnant I was taking an anti-acne med which is no-no to pregnant women, nakaka-cause sya ng birth defects. Hindi ko alam na nabuntis pala ako so i stopped the meds agad.
Talagang pinayuhan kami ng OB to be prepared kasi all or nothing daw, meaning pwedeng maraming problem ang baby or totally healthy.

Pero I prayed hard. So far very healthy si baby and never pa sya na-hospitalized.

Think of other things like, preparing for your new baby, buying stuff for him/her. Basta wag negative kasi baka maka-apekto sa kanya.

Sabi ng ibang mommies na kilala ko while papalapit na ang due date mas natatakot sila, ako hindi natakot at all, kasi super excited ako makita sya.

hello mga mommies-to be...ang babae, di nauubos ang concerns

1.  pag di pa buntis - concern tayo if capable or not to get pregnant..hala pray..
2.  when preggy  na - concern tayo if ok yong baby na ipapanganak natin (physically and mentally OK)
3.  after giving birth - healthy kaya sya, pano mo alagaan to make him/her  healthy...for 1st time moms, konting unusual lang  magpapanic na kz baka may mangyayari sa baby na di  natin matatanggap  (experiences ko na yan)
4.  pag growing na (according to elders hehe) - magiging good mother kaya  tayo? will they grow up with good values and morale mapapalaki kaya nating tama?

hay..ganyan talaga...just accept how life works for us...

sabi niya...

Una daw...

mararanasan mo yung pregnancy period...
panganganak... mag lalabor at lalabas ang bata...
then.. magpapagaling ka pa ng sugat..
mag papa breast feed...
mag aalaga...

I will definitely update you all sa panganganak ko. Medyo may idea naman na ako since I also read the book "What to Expect when you're expecting" and I also watched yung sa Discovery Channel na "In the Womb" pinadownload ko lang sa hubby ko yung short film kasi dati pa napalabas yun. Can't wait to see our baby girl na. Let the power of prayer work sa lahat ng expecting moms. Let us all be safe.
