baby ko, nagtry muna ng cerelac (rice and soya), then gerber (broccoli) when he turned 6 months.. tapos every now and then, mashed squashed, mashed potato, mashed sayote (puro mashed, hehe).. pero nagagawa ko lang yung mga yun pag andun ako, working mom kasi eh.. pag sila lang ni yaya, yung cerelac.. hirap din kasi for her, kasi silang 2 lang nasa bahay.. pero as much as possible, gusto ko sana, real foods ibibigay for him..

hi sis, we started muna with cerelac na rice and soya.. 1 teaspoon lang nung una, tapos nung first day, once lang sya nagganun, the rest milk na.. tapos, mga after 2 days, nung ok naman sa kanya, nag-2x a day na kami.. tapos 2 teaspoon na.. tapos after 3 days, nung wala naman siyang any reaction sa rice and soya, pinag-gerber namin siya na broccoli, 2x a day din.. tapos depende na sa kaya niyang ubusin.. malalaman mo naman kasi pag ayaw na niya eh.. for 3 days, naka-gerber broccoli din siya..tapos, potato, then squash, at sayote..

as a rule, for 3-4 days, bigyan mo si baby ng isang kind of food lang muna.. para ma-check mo lang if may allergy siya sa food na un or wala.. if ok naman siya, no reaction or whatsoever, you can give him/her another kind...

ganun sinabi sa amin ng pedia.. tapos, avoid giving muna yung mga foods na medyo allergy prone such as peas, mango, etc.. tapos no chicken/ meat muna until such time na magka-ngipin n sya..

ayun, hehe..better if pa-orient ka din sa pedia mo kasi ganun ginawa ko eh..hehe..baka may mga tips pa syang mabigay..:)

my baby started to eat solids when he turned exactly 6 months. he ate rice cereals (earth's best) kasi i need to feed him with iron fortified cereals since he is breastfed konti lang daw ang iron sa BM. and i chose earth's best kasi hindi sya matamis unlike cerelac. i want to feed him yun mga bland food para hindi sya maging mapili lalo na sa vegetables. after 5 days of the cereals, i introduced vegetables (na wala din gaanong lasa) potato, sayote, kamote. basta ang advised is you have to introduce a certain food for 5 days na yun lang pinapakain mo para makita mo kung may allergy or may negative effect kay baby yun food na bago.

hi mommy! congrats! hehe.. nung first day mag-cerelac ni baby ko, once lang.. lunch time.. hehe.. tapos 1 teaspoon lang muna.. just to check lang kung magugustuhan niya.. tapos, nung ok naman sa kanya.. ginawa na naming 2x a day, tapos in-increase din yung amount ng cerelac..

minsan, when i have time (working mom kasi eh) ginagawan ko siya ng mashed foods like kalabasa, potato or sayote.. for now, puro mashed muna kinakain eh.. hehe.. until magkaroon na siya ng ngipin at pwede na siya ngumuya.. :)

hi mommies,

nakakainggit naman na your babies are eating the real deal. my son is now 8 months and he's still into cerelac and gerber. have tried the mashed potatoes and squash, ayaw talaga. and i didn't want to push it coz he might end up "hating" eating. and so far, if the cerelac and others are working for him, then it's ok. i asked my pedia if my son is losing nutrients intake if i don't give him the natural veggies, hindi naman daw. his milk is still his main source of nutrients. the feeding (now) is more of a training for him to learn to chew and swallow...

my only redeeming factor is that so far he is welcoming freshly squeezed juice like orange, calamansi, and sugarcane.

may i just share a discovery of another baby food brand?  rafferty's garden. it's a bit pricey compared to cerelac but they have a wide variety of veggies and fruits. so far, sa landmark ko pa lang sya nahahanap. here's their webpage, they also have recipes: http://www.raffertysgarden.com/best_baby_food.php.

hope this helps.

hello! hello!  ;D
sa tingin ko nga limit lang ang pagpakain ko dapat ng cerelac or gerber pag 6 month old na si baby noh...kakatakot din baka maging mapili sa pagkain. hehe..
nwei, my baby is just 4 mo. old kaya i still have time para mag-list ng mga pwedeng ipakain sa kanyang fresh fruits and veggies.

hi sis, parehas pala tayo ng dilemma, ayaw din ng baby ko ng potatoes, squash, sayote & lugaw. he's turning 10 mos on the 21st.   ilang beses ko na-try kaso nag end up isusuka niya lang and parang diring-diri sa lasa. so instead na ma-trauma sya ng stick na lang ako sa milupa, allergic kasi sya sa cerelac especially yung mga milk ang combination. yun nga lang phase-out na ang milupa so ngayon cerelac ang food niya yung mga combination na with soya ok sa kanya.

hi mommy  fraeulein maria, naka frustrate nga talaga lalo na pag nakakita ako ng baby na ka-age niya tapos lahat ng food puwede. isa pang nakakadagdag yung allergy niya sa certain foods kaya hirap na hirap akong maghanap ng puwede at gusto nyang kainin. i'll just hope na mag improve taste buds niya & mabawasan allergies niya.  :)
