EDD by LMP vs EDD by Ultrasound
« on: November 05, 2010, 04:38:24 pm »

Hi mommies! is it better to base kung ilang weeks na tyo sa LMP or sa ultrasound result as EDD? Kaso paiba iba naman ang EDD based sa Ultrasound diba? ???

Doctors use the first day of a woman's last menstrual period (LMP) to compute for the estimated due date (EDD) of the baby's arrival.

usually sis magkaiba sila a week or two lang naman ang pagitan....
mga OB sa LMP talaga...
Sonologist is based on development ni baby...
minsang maliit or malaki si baby sa LMP so the OB will decide you will be given range of time you can expect

mga mommies yung naalala ko sa akin, halos same yung result sa trans v ko and sa LMP :) or try mo rin sa ibang hospital, i remember kasi nung nagpar ultrasound ako sa chinese ibang iba yung result niya.. much better kung sa st lukes ka magpapaultra sound para mas accurate :)

hi acie, yep 37th week consider na sya as full term.. kung first baby mo yan, usually ahead or late ng 2 weeks.. yung sa akin maaga ako ng 2 weeks sa EDD.  :)

usually magkalapit lang talaga ang result ng LMP and trans V...regrading naman sa abdominal US,mas accurate yung Trans V eh,...so take it there sis,you can be two weeks ahead of late ang first baby eh....

base mo sa LMP. the earliest ultrasound gives the most accurate EDD. not the mid pregnancy ultrasound.

My OB prefer the LMP, kasi sa ultrasound especially yung 2nd trimester onwards di na daw masyado reliable kasi minsan yung EDD e base na lang sa laki ni baby..

Pero usually malapit din ang EDD ng LMP and ultrasound.. :)

Most OB's would base EDD on LMP. Ultrasound dating will be less accurate the later the pregnany gets because babies grow at different rates. The most accurate ultrasound dating would be at 5-12wks.
