Duphaston: Pampakapit ng baby?

Hi mga sis, im new here... im hoping may makatulong  sa akin... when i  was in my 9 weeks i experienced lower back pain/hips pain. my OB advised me to take duphaston and duvadilan 3x a day in 7 days and i did but im still worrying if may side effects sa baby kasi wala naman ako spotting/bleeding and 2 pampakapit ang binigay sa akin. is there anybody na naka experience nito? im on my 16 weeks na ok naman ang pakiramdam ko and the pain is already gone but i still worried sa mga gamot na naiinom ko. thank you so much

hi sis anniebebe! welcome to SP! the same with you and sis kassandradenise, during my 1st trimester i was also took duphaston and duvadillan at the same time due to spotting/threaten abortion.

so, far OK naman and im sure OB-Gyne will not advise us to take any kind of medicine if it is not safe sa pregnancy. try to lessen your worries para hindi ka ma-stress sobra pag-iisip is NO good sa condition mo.

God Bless & take care........ :D

welcome to SP anniebebe...

welcome to motherhood na din  :)...my OB also prescribed duphaston and duvadilan to me during my early pregnancy...i had "severe" spotting...meron pa ngang parang laman na lumalabas covered in brown blood...i also had vaginal ultrasound to check the baby...i remember doc said in one of my visits "may heartbeat siya Tin, hindi natin puwedeng galawin"...later on napa-isip ako, baka raraspahin ako if walang heartbeat...kasi pinakita ko yung "discharge" ko sa kanya and she was also shocked...the medicines were really a lot of help...sa pagkakaintindi ko sis, yung duphaston ang nag-aact as pampakapit, yung duvadilan is to stop the hilab sa tiyan natin...pero 2x a day lang a duphaston ko, yung duvadilan ang 3x a day...5 days lang niya nirereseta yun...then kapag wala na akong gamot, minsan duduguin or hihilab uli...until almost 6 months na akong preggy meron akong duvadilan na baon-baon...i stopped duphaston before 5months of pregnancy ata...siguro sinigurado lang ni doc na kapit na kapit na talaga...the first trimester kasi talagang prone na makunan eh...

ok naman ang pregnancy ko while taking those medications...i don't see any side effect kay baby, he is only 6 months old...sana nga wala naman...

hi anniebebe, welcome to SP!

same with our sisters here, i was also advised by my OB to take duphaston and duvadilan when i was 6-7 weeks preggy.  i had brown spotting, so i was asked to bedrest for a week, i was taking both 3x a day for one week. thank God after a week, the spotting stopped then i had ultrasound that says there was no subchorionic hemmorhage.

our sisters here are right, your OB wont give you something that will harm the baby for sure.  have a happy and healthy pregnancy!  :)

I was given Duvadilan din on my 6th month when I had to go to Sagada for a field activity. I wasn't feeling any pain or experiencing spotting. I think the med was given as a precautionary measure.

hi sis anniebebe!

same situation tayo sis. I was given isoxilan naman. no spotting din. I had to take it as needed daw tuwing nakaka experience ako ng dull back or abdominal pain. lumabas sa ultrasound ko kasi na may contractions daw ako and masama daw yun. hindi naman siguro prescribe ng OB yung mga meds na yun kung bad for the baby :)

thanks mga sis, na-lessen worries ko kasi may kapitbahay kami dito na may abnormalities na lumabas sa baby niya. dahil daw sa sobrang gamot na ininom niya. ewan ko if its true. kaya medyo takot ako uminom ng madaming gamot. anyway mga sis thanks sa mga replies its really a big help. God bless!!!

naku sis anniebebe, baka kasi yung kapitbahay mo ay may nainom na ibang gamot...marami talagang gamot na bawal sa buntis kaya beware ka din...pero kung nireseta sa iyo yun ni OB, i'm sure hindi yun bad for the baby...basta, rule of thumb, don't self medicate...avoid all over the counter drugs (take them only if prescribed)...

I had taken Duvadilan with my 1st pregnancy, and Isoxilan naman with the second. I'm on my 7th month with my eldest since It was prescribed by my OB kasi, I still was completing my training at the hospital, and tagtag ako sa dami ng work, she adviced me nga to stop the training muna, but since pasaway ako kaya tinuloy ko pa din since 1month na lang kasi, nanghihinayang ako. My Ob said medyo open na ang cervix ko, so as much as possible di nako masyado naglalalakad, Nakakatuwa lang,  May 29 ang last day ng training ko, and on the 31st ako nanganak, nakinig si baby pinatapos niya muna ko ng training before siya lumabas..  ;) True, I don't think the Ob will prescribed something that will eventually harm your baby, as in my case every 6 hours ang inom ko ng meds but everything's fine naman nung lumabas si baby..

Hi mga sis! Ako din I was advised to take duphaston and duvadilan nung 1st trimester kasi threatened abortion ako. Now na nasa 2nd trimester nako, Duvadilan na lang for contractions and only as needed.  Yung ate ko binigyan din ganun and healthy naman baby niya paglabas. Baka yung neighbor mo sis kung ano ano na lang take niya.  Baka she's taking meds na hinde naman prescribed ng OB.  Hehe!  ;D  That's why I always go to my OB if my nararamdaman ako na kakaiba kahit hinde kopa time magpa check up.  Minsan 2-3 times a month ako pumupunta sa kanya.  :)
