i started reading books to my son when he was two months old. usually colorful picture books. choose board books para matitigas, hindi magkaka-paper cut si baby. saka pag lumaki na sya at kaya na niyang magscan mag isa, mapupunit agad yun pages kakalipat. kaya dapat matitigas.

his books are actually MY books. books that i've collected since college. books that i used during my practicum days hanggang sa nagturo na ako sa iba't ibang preschool. siguro, three or four lang talaga yun book na binili namin para sa kanya. sa ngayon, sobrang favorite niya ang transportation. kaya puro books aboout cars, trucks, airplanes.

it's good to develop the habit of reading at an early age. it develops your child's vocabulary and it's a good activity for child and parents. my son loves being read to. dahil sanay na, he invites others to read the book for him. hinihila niya kamay ng ibang tao papunta sa book. ibig sabihin nun babasahan mo sya.

i started reading books also to my baby when she was 3mos old naman..

Good thing, interesado sya.

Mommies, mag 5 months na baby ko, we're not into reading pa din. As if nakakabasa na.. Kakatuwa nga e. Kaya i'll buy a pillow book nalang kasi me nakita ako one with text na and pictures.
Important is marinig yung words.

hi mommies

to sis n:

Somehow nage-gets nila yun flow nun story lalo na pag kinukwento with enthusiasm. We should not assume that because the child isn't looking at you or the book that he or she isn't interested or listening. You can read expressively, use different voices for different characters. It would be more interesting for the child.

You can also use puppets to represent the characters of the story. Para hindi masyadong abstract sa bata.

eto po yun sinasabi kong book na pwede sa bath time. parang rubber yun material niya eh. then it floats. it's one of the birthday gifts, baka meron din sa bookstore.

mommy ondi, my bad...why did i say that?!.. you're right. babies and kids shouldn't be underestimated :D instead they should be presented with opportunities for learning and growth.

By the way, where did you get your finger puppets?
