What did you teach ( or tried to teach) your child today?
« on: November 29, 2010, 09:25:13 pm »

everyday is a learning experience for our kids..as parents, it's our role to be their primary teacher..not barney or dora. ;-)  there are times i forget  this role as a mom, when i get caught up in the things i have to finish at home..so i personally want to exert some effort to not let a day pass without teaching my daughter something, she's 2 y/o btw...

today, i tried to teach her the word 'video" kase she loves the camera.
toilet training din, pero still in the process of learning, so may major "accident" na nangyari, hehe
i reminded her sa rules "no shoes in bed"
we reviewed some words we're trying to read.

hope you guys can share yours as well, para we can get some ideas. thanks!

Kahapon, I saw Kurt (turning 2y/o this dec14) looking at our altar, then he murmured "Papa Jesus." So, nilapitan ko sya and asked "sino sya bhe?". "Papa Jesus." he answered. Then I suddenly thought of teaching him pray.
ME:In the name of the Father...
KURT:Apader...
ME:The Son...
KURT:asan...
ME:The Holy...
KURT:Huli...
ME:Spirit...
KURT:Ipirit...
ME:Amen.
KURT:Emen.
I stooped, and asked him.. "anong sasabihin mo kay Papa Jesus?"
KURT:Bantay po Kurt-kurt(Tirt-tirt) lagi.

I never taught him that, hehe. Felt guilty somehow kasi I didn't take time to teach him to be religious enough thou he's making his own effort to do it. =)

My son is 1 yr old and i have a cd na pinapanood niya " A BABY CAN READ " so everyday we have a 1 hour or less ( it depends sa mood niya  )lesson na kung ano yung pinapanood niya is nirereview namin. May mga songs with actions, mga action movements ( like ARMS UP/ DOWN,  WAVE , CLAPPING OF HANDS etc.. ) parts of the face ( eyes, ear nose, mouth ) and mga animals... Actually paulit ulit un so he can familiarize what the cd says. So, today nakakatuwa kasi when i told him yung mga movements na pinapanood namin ginagawa niya alone  and kapag nagpakita na ko ng pictures ng animals ( like cat, dog, tiger, lion, bird )  alam na niya kung ano yun.  Little by Little they will learn everything basta tiyaga lang....[

My daughter is 2 and a half, and she's quite a talkative young one now, she communicates pretty well too =)
i dont necessarily teach her so much stuff now coz she really gets it on her own and she already goes to school and she's the smartest among her classmates =)

today, we danced to elmo's music and acted them out, we practiced their Christmas dance number and cuddled until she fell sound asleep =)

the joys of being able to take close care of my little one is priceless. ;D

yes sis, i started to bring her to school when she was 1yr 8mos, by then she was just a "salingkit" and when she turned two, i enrolled her, coz he got assesed and was evaluated as ready to enter and join schooling for nursery 1, now she's doing really great with the 3 year olds in her class and she's only 2 and 6 mos now hehe. =) a lot of schools now offer toddler classes, they're really great coz its play with education, not education with play =)

I bought a tomato seedling to grow with my son. So today, I taught him that we have to water and talk to the plant so it will grow faster. Trying to get him to love the environment.

I didn't teach him this, learned it from blues clues and proved it himself.
Blue and yellow make green.
He needs to pee and the potty has a blue solution. His weewee is yellow and it turned green.
Look Mama, blue and yellow make green!
Very good!

i taught her to feed herself. bongga diba? she's 6 months pa lang. ang hilig kasi mang-agaw ng spoon nung nag start kami ng solids. ngayon siya na yung nag-scoop ng baby food tapos lagay sa mouth. nakakatuwa kahit lahat ng sulok ng bahay may baby food. :D :D
