pwede na fresh fruit sis, basta scrapings. for example, mango or apple. use the tip of the spoon to scrap the fruit. para malambot at madaling lunukin. pwede din melon or kung anuman.

hi sis, i read somewhere na iwas muna sa citrus fruits pag below 8 mos. pero ibang fruits like bananas and apples, pwede na sa age niya. yung tundan sis. nakaka constipate nga lang so give lots of water also. when my baby started eating solids, di sya nag cerelac or gerber. she ate lugaw or oatmeal and mashed vegetables -- potatoes, squash, sayote, camote, carrots, broccoli. sometimes fish. pero minsan pag walang time mag prepare, earth's best ang pinapakain namin sa kanya. when she learned to chew, soft rice na, with fish, chicken, beef, beans and other vegetables. ngayon same na kami ng ulam (she's turning 13 mos).

mommies, any other suggestions on what first foods to give sa baby... mine is 6 months and we started to give her mashed and pureed foods exactly on her 6th month. she already had squash, egg yolk, carrots, and potato for 3 consecutive days each, as per advice by pedia. next im planning to give her are sayote and camote. i read ok daw ang green peas at brocolli. my problem with peas is that wala yata fresh nito sa groceries, ang nakikita ko lang kasi before is frozen if not de-lata. ayoko naman ng ganun, i prefer natural fresh food prepared for her. 2 weeks lang actually ang binigay ng pedia na same food for 3 days but i wanted to give baby all possible mashed or pureed foods we can prepare for her.

pedia also prefer fresh foods rather than cerelac or gerber. iba kasi nutrient contents niya. also, i noticed from other kids na nahilig sa cerelac and gerber, paglaki nila mga pihikan talaga sa food.

when your baby started solid foods, how many times are they suppose to take milk (formula or breastmilk)?

ang alam ko at least 3 feedings of milk. that's based on the recommended number of feeds sa NAN2. ang baby ko 2-3 times a day, 7oz each. she's 6mos.

So kunwari dati 10 servings of milk in a day.

my baby turned 6 months a week ago, i started to give my baby cerelac.. pero mukhang ayaw ni baby.. whenever i give him cerelac, parang kinikilig sya pag nilulunok niya.. :( is it an indication that he does not like cerelac? i tried feeding him thrice (in three days) and same parin yung reaction ni baby..  :-\

after that, i tried giving him pureed carrot.. he was delighted at first pero nakakailang subo palang, ayaw niya na.. i tried mixing his milk with the carrots pero ayaw niya.. :(

You can try to make the gap between the milk and the solid a little wider. Don't give up! Mahahanap mo din yung gusto niya.
have you tried fruits? Breads?

mommy ainge

I'm not sure about the mangoes. pero it is too sweet tapos may custard cake pa. Banana siguro tsaka white bread or milk bread would be fine.
