i have PCOs too prior to getting pregnant last 2006. i remember my ob, dra. arlene bravo and i performed an ovulation process.. and it did work! one shot lang and i conceived. ;)

ask your doctor too! most of my friends transferred to my ob all for the same reason that they wanted to get pregnant. and they all did. we are all mommies now. i think 3-4 friends of mine conceived after i referred them to my ob.

as i was saying... prior to having two beautiful kids now, i tried undergoing fertility treatments because of my PCOS... i was on clomid for 6 sessions and each time, i underwent TVS(transvaginalultrasound) to monitor if i'm ovulating... and each time the ultrasound reveals the result, it was very frustrating to us... moreover, it was so expensive...

clomid and provera didn't work for me... so the next step we underwent was taking fertlity shots... i took 6 sessions of shots but still nothing worked... and this one is more expensive than the clomid... i remember a shot 5 years ago would cost me 5k.

since these medications didn't work for me... the doctor finally said that we'd better undergo AI(Artificial Insemination) which is so expensive!!! it cost 500K per trial in which you don't have an assurance that the baby will live inside your body...

so as a result, i stop TTC.

i stop pressuring and blaming myself for not getting pregnant...

on the process of self healing, i do my own researches on what really is PCOS... and i discovered a lot of things about it, which most of us specially here in the philippines doesn't know about... oh btw, kahit tanungin natin mga moms natin or aunties magtataka lang sila kung ano ang PCOS because they never heard about it!!!

PCOS is so common nowadays, for some reason our generation today have a predisposition to it... lalo na yung mga may diabetes sa family line...

and here comes the hollistic approach that i mentioned in the first post that i made.

i tried medicating myself without harming my body... it was then that i realized that all the fertility hormones that i took made the situation worse... moreover in the long run, then can cause cancer to our body... we don't want that! all we want is be moms to beautiful babies... not moms to cancer cells...

i've been treating my PCOS since 2002. taken 5 different pills to regulate my period and every 6 months, nahihiyang yun body ko so nawawala yun effect. in 2004, my OB then told me that my PCOS are gone. 2006 i got married and when i had my check up... PCOS are back! my OB gave me clomid. on the 3rd month taking the meds... a miracle! i now have a 1 yr old baby boy :) pray! -- God will bless you the miracle of life! and trust your OB as well... :)

i was diagnosed with pcos 7 months after i had a miscarriage 2 years ago. i cant remember if i took medicine. hehe. but i think i did. when i got my regular flow na, di na ako bumalik sa ob ko because i think regular na ang period ko.
now, im actually waiting if i am pregnant or if im pcos again (hope not).

tama ang ibang mommies, exercise, i think can help reverse the syndrome. i gained extra pounds nung may pcos ako. as in sobra. i tried losing weight. medyo naglose na ako ng mga 10lbs. sana ma-maintain ko.
  ;)

^hi sis! same here. and just gave birth Jan 11, 2009. and we want to be pregnant again, my OB just prescribed me to continue with my metformin. parang ganun yata talaga pag PCOS, tuloy tuloy ang gamutan. and kailangang maregulate yung period natin para maayos din yung pago-ovulate to conceive. hopefully by God's grace, makabuo kami pag uwi ni hubby this December. Good luck to us!

hi moms,

before ako nagbuntis sa bunso ko nagka PCOS din ako. Same with angeldeng metformin din ang iniinom ko plus sabi ng OB magbawas daw ng timbang kasi nakakaapekto din daw yun. Siguro more than 6 months din ako nagtreatment. Nakakalungkot nga nung time na yun. Pero syempre pray pa rin ako and continue my medicines.

i also have pcos... for 6 years now. was on medication for 4 years until it cleared out. i got married in 2006 and when i had my check up, it was back. my OB gave me treatment for it plus fertilization. after 4 months, got pregnant.

based on my OB, i have to monitor my period. if i wanted to get preggy again, i have to undergo ultrasound again before meds to make sure if i have pcos again or not. i have no problems taking in meds... if that's the only way to conceive another angel ... go! go! go! ako :)

Hi, Mommy!  I had PCOS when I was in college (2000).  My OB also advised me to take Provera and I was on pills (Mercillon) for two years.  Regular monitoring via ultrasound.  After 2 years, nawala naman na daw pero pwedeng bumalik.

It was quite an experience. medyo traumatic having to go through all that when you are still single and all.  Everytime I visit my OB, she would tell me to get married na para they can start na with treatments na hindi possible for me at that time.  She told me na baka I would have difficulty conceiving (aside from PCO kasi, I also have retroverted uterus).  Balak nga namin ng husband ko na if after 5 years, wala pa rin kami baby, we'll just adopt na lang.  Imagine our surprise, honeymoon baby ang anak namin! hehe. I still had PCO daw sa left ovary ko and ang right ang nafertilize.  Ang galing talaga ni Lord, He gave us a spare in case the other one conks out. hehe.
