Goodluck! :)

we have our own nebulizer sa bahay. kapag inuubo or may sipon si baby, i am using it instead of gamot agad para hindi siya masanay sa mga gamot gamot, lalo na kung hirap matulog, if grabe sipon, i'M putting salinase liquid (basta yung salinase) dun sa nebulizer then tatalukbong kami sa kumot para naaamoy niya, effective naman, the last time na grabe yung ubo niya our pedia advised us to use yung salbutamol nebule para ilagay sa nebulizer. saka mismong yung sis in law ko din nagadvise sa amin na better may nebulizer. super helpful.

AnneM, my baby's pedia practices natural medicine. you may want to bring your son to see her.

dr cricket chen at st lukes global and medical plaza. call the trunk lines na lang to ask for clinic hours.

when my baby had a very bad case of cough and colds 2 months ago (nahawa sa akin), pedia gave her homeopathic meds and she was ok after a week. my twins pamangkins who took the usual meds, 2 weeks maysakit. nagkahawaan lang naman kami.

so far lahat ng meds from dr chen are very effective. pati when baby had amoebiasis last july, ang bilis niyang gumaling.

Baby ko before siya nag 2 years old, naturuan ko na magblow ng nose...gawin mo in front of her, show her how, then sabihin mo lang gayahin ka niya, sabihin mo din na para di na siya umubo ng umubo kelangan ilabas yung sipon. (something like that) effective din. dati kasi yung salinase, nidrodrop or spray ko sa nose niya, pero mas effective if sa nebulizer ilagay. kasi kahit hindi mo itutok masyado as long as nalalanghap niya at kulob kayo eepekto pa din yun.

thanks sis..

^hi sis! buti naman wala ng lagnat si baby..kasi tama ka pag nilalagnat sya at me ubo e iba na nga yun need na ipacheckup at baka mauwi na sa pneumonia..i suggest i continue mo lang ang pag nenebulize lalo na sabi mo kapit na kapit ang plema niya..3cc NSS will do..yun kasi ang pampaloosen ng pleghm..better sana if meron din ambroxol solution or if me hingal salbutamol pero i wont self medicate..need pa din pedia's advice..

para naman sa mga mommies as a respiratory therapist..yes i would recommend using nebulizers for cough and even for colds..kasi mas mabilis ang effect because the meds which is contained in the mist will go straight to the lungs kaya mas effective hindi katulad ng oral meds na kung saan pa daraan bago maabsorb ng katawan ;)

@ kissablesam - her PF is 1k yata for the 1st visit, 700 for the succeeding visits. The meds are cheap lang, usually 300 more or less for a bottle tapos ang dosage 3 drops or half stirrer lang so the bottle lasts a long time.

@ AnneM - you're welcome. She's super ok. Malumanay magsaliita, very calming. By appointment only so if you plan to see her, call her clinics na lang. Her secretaries are nice din. I hope your sOn responds well to homeopathy. Kami very happy talaga. Sometimes i take her meds din if i have cough. Hee.

@Clueless - I really will definitely giver her a call (I might even bump into you sa clinic haha). I actually tried giving my son honey with ginger and lemon kasi I learned that honey naturally suppresses cough. It was effective naman pero shempre, it's best to consult with a doctor pa rin. (Oh and honey isn't recommended for kids below 1)

Yes important sakin yung I'm comfortable with the doctor because shempre I'm a mom and tend to worry a lot. Current pedia isn't that approachable. Tapos when I have questions pa I have to call her office- minsan she put me on hold for like more than 2 minutes e I was on the road :( grr

our nearly 3 year old daughter first used the nebulizer last saturday.

it was advised by the doctor since hirap nga siya huminga. sobra vomit with phlegm. it did help her breathe and helped her sleep more soundly.

as it was your baby's pedia who recommended the use of the nebulizer, then based on the pedia's findings, di lang basta cough siguro what your baby is experiencing.

as moms here posted, nebulizer use is not recommended for simple cough only.

Hmmm, my son has no asthma BUT his pedia recommended one time if I had a nebulizer at home to help him with his coughing. At that time, sobrang sama nung cough nung son ko and he had a lot of phlegm that needed to be loosened.

The thing is, we don't own an nebulizer so she just gave me the usual medicine.
