according to my baby's pedia at sa ate ko rin who gave birth in Australia, hindi na advisable ang pagamit ng bigkis.

every after bath ni baby, linisin lang ng bulak na may alcohol para mas madaling matuyo. to avoid infections naman, linisin yung gilid ng pusod with cotton buds na may alcohol. medyo takot kami before na gawin to pero nung pinakita sa amin nung pedia yung dumi ng pusod ni baby, hindi na kami nagalangan linisin yung dumi.

I agree. Hindi advisable ang pagamit ng bigkis. My baby's pedia also told me that.

Hi folks,

Our 12 day old daughters belly button stump has fallen off as advised.
Our Pedia has advised us to clean the remaining healing belly button, inside and out, using cotton buds and 70% alcohol spray 3 x daily.

However, we notice after cleaning some dried blood on the tip of the belly button. We are assuming there must be a small amount of bleeding after the inside clean.

I’m guessing this is normal while the belly button heals.

However, I don’t understand how it can heal quickly if we are cleaning it outside, and particularly inside, 3 times daily? ?

How did you look after your babies belly button after the stump fell off?

Cheers 😀
