What I did is try muna sa mga ready make na cake mixes. Experiment muna ako with the proper heat ng oven, since most of baking requires pre-heating. Gamit ko na oven is walang temperature control in Degrees or Fahrenheit kaya talagang trial and error ako pagdating sa temperature base sa output. When yo see your cake/cupcakes,brownies etc. na biglang nag-rise yung middle and nagcrack yung top, meaning, sobrang hot or uneven ang init, then you must lower the temperature the next time.

Baking is an exact science, true yun, but you can do experiment lalo na sa pag-adjust ng taste i;e; sweetness, flavors etc.

I'm still new in baking, but i'm learning a lot and i'm enjoying also. Mostly thru internet lang ako nag-gather ng recipes, then pag madali, try ko sa bahay, expect talaga na di perfect sa una, but once you tried doing it often and correcting your mistakes magiging successful din :D

Di ba sis raven?

Check my FB account to see yung mga attempts ko ng baking :D

wow ibang level kana pala now...

Hi, mommy sheizzhynazh! I love cooking and baking. Share ko lang sayo what i did just to learn how to bake. Sobrang fan kasi ako ni Heny Sison, may cooking show sya dati (A Taste of Life) hindi ko pinapalampas lahat ng episode talagang sinundan ko. Nag aattend din ako ng mga free seminars on baking, then nag member ako ng Nestle Club, before kasi may mga free demo sila at si Heny Sison ang resource person. I also buy a lot of cook books on baking. Two of the best books on baking that really helped me are Tiny Kitchen (A cookbook for Children) by Vicky Veloso Barrera (pambata sya kaya madaling sundan); and The Maya Kitchen: A complete guide to baking. Some tips I can share with you: these kitchen gadgets and tools are a must in baking, oven thermometer (since temperature is very crucial in baking, invest in a good one), timer, mixer, spatula, measuring cups and spoons. Always pre-heat the oven to the required temperature before mixing the ingredients. Yung 350F na mostly required sa baking equivalent to 180C (or Gas mark 3). Hope these helped  :)

buti nakita ko tong topic na to I would love to bake din but I don't know how to operate an oven:-)  Marami kasi siyang options.  I love watching Everyday Italian and Barefoot Contessa kaya naexcite din ako magbake.

I never tried making a muffin, puro cupcakes. Last week, I tried the recipe I found in yummy site yung ube mamon ni chef Jackie

Ube Mamon
Ingredients

2 cups cake flour
1 cup granulated sugar (divide it in 2 parts)
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/2 corn oil
6 egg yolks
1 tsp ube flavacol
10 egg whites
1 tsp cream of tartar
melted butter
sugar for sprinkle
grated chesse (optional)

Procedure

1 Sift together dry ingredients: 2 cups cake flour, 1 cup sugar (divided), and 1 teaspoon baking powder.

2 In a large bowl, combine wet ingredients: 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup evaporated milk, 1/2 cup corn oil, 1 teaspoon ube flavocol, and 6 egg yolks.

3 Mix together the liquid and dry ingredients. Do not overmix.

4 Using an electric mixer, beat 10 egg whites, remaining sugar, and 1 teaspoon cream of tartar until medium peaks form; fold into the prepared mixture.

5 Pour into lined mamon or cupcake molds until three-fourths full. You may also use a muffin pan. Bake at 350F for 20 to 30 minutes.

6 Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with sugar, and grated cheese (if desired). Makes about 26 pieces.

** Note:

I followed the exact ingredients, OK naman ang outcome, but here are my inputs if I will make it again :D

1. I will adjust the sugar, baka gawin kong 1 1/2 cups kasi sabi nila matabang daw
2. I will reduced the egg white from 10 to siguro mga 7 to 8, masyado kasi madami yung 10 para don sa mixture, didn't use it all.
3.I cannot find Ferna Ube flavacol, that's why I used Mccormick Ube flavor, yung 1 tsp is not enough. di masyado naglasa yung ube and ang color is pale, next time i'll make it 2 to 3 tsp.

You can check my FB account to see the ube Mamon http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150108782791845&set=a.480693341844.260995.637526844&theater

By the ways, thanks sis (mommy jo) for the compliment :D
