Sis, you can ask your OB when is the right time to file it.
At first, plano ko tlaga sagarin, hanggat di ako naglabor di ako mag leave.. Kaso when I brought up the topic with my OB she suggested to do it 5 days before my EDD.
Kelangan raw ng enough rest kasi nakakapagod talagang manganak..

I'm 24 weeks preggo and I'm work at night, I plan to work hangang kaya sayang kasi yung ML gusto ko sana sulitin pag dating ni baby (sayang rin yung money). My sister has 2 babies na and ang sabi niya sakin is to ask for my OB parang notification na I should take 1 month medical leave (before I give birth), tapos talk to the HR and tell them na my ML should start on the day I give birth, pwede daw yun.

Nung kay Cali, start ng ML ko was the day I gave birth na. buti naman. hindi nasayang ang araw kakahintay hehe :) Due date ko was supposed to be Sep 3. Nung Aug 15, IE ako ni doc to check my condition, hindi pa daw. My husband and I went straight to the hospital. At yun, I gave birth 7:8pm :) I was 37 and half weeks nun.

Dito kay Cassie, my due date is 1Nov but we are planning to have scheduled CS by 23Oct. 36 weeks na ko sa Monday, but I feel I can still go to work. Balak ko magwork pa till my birthday sa 20 Oct. :)

Kahit super bagal ko na maglakad I still force myself to walk and commute to work everyday kasi yun na lang ang exercise ko.  :-\

hi mga sp moms!

im  a newbie here.. i gave birth last march.. i took my ML one week before..  i gave birth at 26th , took my ML 20th. it was unintentional kasi im expecting my delivery april .. then nung 26 schedule ng check-up ko.. my ob advised na mgpaadmit na .. i was shocked kasi i dont feel any contractions pa naman pero 3cm n daw ..

Kaya siguro i advised na mas maaga ang ML mas mganda kasi you wont expect sometimes yung early delivery

Mas maganda na one would take the ML kapag malapit na talaga, as in 39th or 40th week na para mas mahaba ang panahon with baby.

I'm on my 38th week and I still go to work. I'll even go to work tomorrow. I filed ML na last week but I didn't specify the covered period. Sabi ko to follow na lang. I'll inform them when I go into labor. I'd rather spend my ML with my baby than spend it at home eating and sleeping. saka yung travel ko to work ang aming exercise and lakad session ni baby. baka mapatagal lalo panganganak if I rest. Medyo active kasi lifestyle ko e before and during pregnancy.  :)

my husband and his family is forcing me to go on ML.  :'( ayoko kasi 34 weeks palang ako accdg to LMP, and 36 weeks accdg to ultrasound. so malayo pa talaga. instead of having the 2 months spent with baby eh iikli sya kung kukunin ko na ngayon. nahihirapan na kasi ako maglakad ang sakit sakit nung area sa may pelvis ko at vagina.  :'( i was told its normal naman, that the baby is just settling down pero matagal pa due talaga, sarado pa cervix ko, and puro braxton hicks lang ramdam ko. mahirap lang talaga matulog, umupo, maglakad, tumayo, any position na more than 5 minutes masakit na.  :'(

paano kaya to? im worried that my depression right now is stressing my baby, iyakin ako kasi wala talaga ako makausap about this, i dont want to tell my mom or anyone na kilala ko kasi papangit lang lalo tingin nila sa husband ko. hays.

Gaano ba katagal ang byahe frm your office to your preferred hospital? Eh kasi don niya gusto manganak eh. Bakit ba sila mangengeelam?  ;)

About using your ML too early, di ba it's better na you spend it with your child rather than stay home na wala ka masyadong gagawin? Kaya tuloy less than 1 month lang niya natutukan baby niya. I think your baby needs you more in the first 2 months of life kasi nag-aadjust sya...

^^Sis buurp,  I felt that way sa panganay ko, kaya nag leave ako agad thinking that I probably  would give birth that week kasi talagang parang nakaharang na yung ulo ng baby  which made walking very difficult for me, para akong mapapaanak sa hirap at nahihiya na rin ako sa mister ko sa kakasundo sa akin, kaya I then decided to take my ML, but sadly, it took a month pa before I finally gave birth at ang tagal pa ng labor maybe because I took my ML  too early.

mga sis right now i took an unpaid leave. until january 12. (ang hirap ng nightshift at commute tapos super heavy ang work!) naurong nanaman EDD ko january 12 from january 25th. sa january 2 start na ko ng OB ko painumin ng eveprim...yung office pumayag na ang ML ko will start on my EDD. January 12.

I just filed my ML for January 3 (sinulit ko rin yung paid holidays) due date ko is Jan 15. What the company did was they gave me pa an extra 2 weeks for Maternity Vacation Leave so total of 2 months and 2 weeks. Nilagay nalang nila yung extra 2 weeks before my due date tapos magsstart yung Maternity Leave ko on the day I give birth para masulit daw. Depends sa company yung MVL yung iba kasi nagbibigay, yung iba wala, but try asking the HR about it baka meron sayang rin :)
