No Sine, No Problem! DIY 'Movie House'

photo by COURTESY OF ALELLY HERNANE

at what age did you first bring your child to a moviehouse? my toddler is turning four this june. i dont know if ready na sya manood sa big picture. worry ko kasi baka pag dinala ko sya sa moviehouse matakot naman mashado kasi madilim. also taken into consideration din na baka magsawa agad within few minutes of watching then magyaya na pauwi. Im planning na magwatch kami Rio 3D. worth it kaya or bili nalang ako DVD pag meron na?  :)

Hi sis.. pareho tayo. I was skeptic at first pero we have to try eh. we wouldn't know unless we try. I would suggest nga lang na you don't go on a day or time na maraming kasama sa sinehan.
I've listed a few tips on how you can prepare for the cinema experience of your toddler.

3 yrs old na son ko pero never pa din namin naisama sa movie house. Iniisip din kasi namin na baka matakot kasi madilim. Pero we will try pag pinalabas na 'yung Cars 2 this coming June. Favorite niya kasi 'yun.

pero the very first na nakapanood siya ng may isip na was 2 yrs old na sya.. last year.. super ingay sa loob.. with matching reaction in every scenes.. hehe.. lalo na nung 2nd time niya agimat at enteng kabisote super daldal.. hahaha.. turning 3 n sya sa june..

we never actually train him or did anything to get him ready.. we just told him that we'll watch movie in a bigger screen... so far di naman sya ntrauma.. next movie plan namin transformers and cars II..

We watched last wednesday ng movie..first time ni Dana to watch sa big screen and the movie was freakin sci fi (World Invasion : Battle LA )...biglaan din kasi since naisipan ng hubby ko na magwatch....so sabi ko paano si Dana, sama daw namin, kaloka..as in barilan and may alien robots...hindi naman siya natakot or something, hindi din siya nanonood, play play lang sa upuan or palakad lakad sa harap namin, umiyak lang siya kasi ang tagal pala niya sa iisang posisyon ng pagkakaupo then bigla tumayo at naglakad lakad, ayun namanhid..iyak siya..buti maingay yung scene so hindi syado dinig iyak niya, lumabas lang kami then spend some time sa CR..then bumalik...natapos namin movie..

make sure na wala masyadong movie goers sa oras na manonood kayo..then bring some toys para may libangan si baby,,,and yun, may bayad na ang baby..

Dana is only 1 year and 7 months old..:D

next time cartoons naman.hehe

Hi sis.. it's hard to say kasi wala yan sa age eh... nasa attention span ng bata.
Here are a few tips based on my experience:

Mommy France, thanks for the tips..i think my son is not yet ready for a date in a movie house.
He's not attentive when watching TV, or DVD..pakiramdam ko mabilis siya magsawa.. sa umpisa lang siya attentive, then within a few minutes, nasa ibang bagay na attention niya..

Sanayin mo lang sis... my son was like that before.
Nasanay kasi sa commercials pang local channel.. so yung attention span niya ganun lang din.
Work on it lang habang bata pa. Avoid yung maraming gaps sa show.

Ganun pala yun Mommy France..local channels nga pinapanood niya..kapag commercial nga, attentive talaga siya..mas maganda talaga educational DVD na lang..kapag kasi DVD pinapanood ko sa kanya tapos kapag napansin ko na di niya sa attentive, i tend to turn off na the DVD.. dapat pala hindi..

Thanks for the advise:)
