Books by Filipino Authors
« on: April 05, 2011, 10:41:00 am »

Hey mommies! I thought this would be a good thread to start. I know that we have great Filipino writers with amazing published works. Let's talk about them here! :)

Share ko lang tong site na natagpuan ko Canvas.PH

They do tagalog children stories, pero may english version din. The best part is you can download their ebooks for free. They are promoting the Filipino Cultutre kasi and siyempre yung values na rin na likas sa mga pilipino.

I blogged about it here.

I've always been fond of writings by F. Sionil Jose---serious but with humor. For reality check with comic relief, I go for Bob Ong's.

Books by Adarna and Hiyas are good, too. Their books from various authors touch different aspects of our life as a Filipino. There is one book that I really related to, and it's titled "Papa's House, Mama's House" by Jean lee Patindol. I had an exchange of e-mails with the author in the past, and I really commended her for illustrating such a delicate topic (broken home) in a children's point of view.

i'm currently hooked on Trese series by Budjette Tan and drawn by Kajo Baldisimo. it's like Ghost in the Shell but with creatures from Phil folklore instead of cyborgs and AIs.

I've collected Bob Ong's books. Aside sa mga sense of humor part dun, marami rin talagang matututunan. Parang that is his way of writing about what's happening around.

I was able to read some books written by Filipino authors. Some of which are:
1. Without Seeing the Dawn
2. Canal de la Reina
