6mos yata ang recommended age for baby to use walker. or as long as he can sit unsupported. si baby ko @ 6mos pinag walker na namin. pero mas maganda pa rin ata yung wooden type na walang wheels kasi talagang sisikapin ni baby na matutong maglakad. eh sa mga modern walker ngayon, konting push lang sa part ng mga babies, eh aabot na sila ng kung saan-saan. effortless kung baga.

^ agree sis. As long as kaya na niyang umupo sa sarili niya.

Actually  i agree with ysLim na mas ok ang wooden. We both have the modern type of walker and the wooden, Pag nasa modern type of walker sya tamad sya maglakad kasi madami toys na puwede laruin sa harap niya then puwede pa sya maupo not unlike sa wooden no choice sya but to walk kasi naka support sa underarm niya yung walker at mabilis sya maglakad lalo na pag galit hehe

studies show that it is best for baby not to use a walker at all.

baby will walk when he/she is ready.

The baby should use walker kung nakakagabay na sya early using of walker can cause ng scoliosis kasi nabibigla ang bakalang ng baby.

as long as the baby can sit na ng maayos, sabi nga it shows delay kasi parang nasanay ng may gabay siya pag nag wwalk. in my case naman trial lang sana yung pagpapaupo namen kay meyer ko sa walker pero nung inatemp ko na siyang tanggalin sobrang higpit ng kapit sa walker and then umiiyak na. she was 5 mos. that time as i remember. ayun binili na namen yung walker.
at this time she is already 11 mos. nakaka gabay naman ng maayos w/o her walker and barely stepping mga 2 to 3 times bago tumumba. depende din kasi ata talaga sa bata gaano kalakas talaga eh.

Like other moms here sis, based on our experience the cue na puwede na i sya introduce sa walker when baby can sit unsupported and can balance her stance. also pag nakakapag crawl na sya because mas steady na ang arms and knees niya.

hope this help!

yes mga sis, nadinig ko na din dati yung pag nag walker daw, mas matatagalan matutong maglakad si baby ... kaya dini discourage daw ang paggamit gn walker ... sa case ko naman, i still used walker for my 2 kids .... parang laruan na lang nila, pag pagod na sa karga at gapang .. dun naman sila sa walker nage enjoy and i believe din na di nga thru walker natuto ang kids ko maglakad .. sa pag akay pa din ... kuyakoy lang sila ng kuyakoy sa walker ... :-))

if your baby can sit by herself and stays seated without support, then pwede na magwalker.. so around 6-7 months..

si baby nagstart magwalker when he was 7 months old. Nakaschedule na kasi syang mag ring bearer sa kasal ng ninong niya sa December, so naisip ko sana nakakalakad na sya by that time kaya ako napabili ng walker.

Nung nakita nung iba kong friends na nagwowalker na sya at the age of 7 months, they discouraged me kasi daw baka maging sakang sya, ganun daw yun kapag baby boy.. true kaya ito.. nagworry din ako nung nabasa ko sa thread na maka magka scolio si baby kasi early sya gumamot ng walker.  :-\

employing the aid of the walker depends on how strong the legs of your babies.
i have a friend who's baby is so big that he's fond of standing up and jumping.  so they taught he's ready to walk.  so they had him on a walker.  now, the baby ended up having a bow leg.  therapy tuloy sila.

ayaw namin ni hubby gumamit ng walker si baby kasi tendency is ma tip toe siya. Advise yun ng isang kaptibahay namin wherein their eldest baby is using walker, it end up when he started walking naka tip toe lagi... so theraphy siya. When they had their second baby wala silang ginamit na walker so they also advise us not to use one.

hi moms! is it ok to use baby walker? my child is 6mos old now and balak ko na bumili ng walker. nagsearch ako sa net and have read a few articles saying that using such will just delay her motor developments for a week or 2 as compared to babies who do not use it at all. is this true? confused tuloy ako.
