Mommies,

Hi!! i have a question po. may kakilala ba kayo na nanganak sa Ospital ng Maynila (or sa iba pang public hospital)? kasi po one of my colleagues suggested giving birth here dahil nga makakatipid ka talaga.  siya po kasi dito nanganak, dahil nagtipid din siya nun time na un.  currently po kasi, sa Chinese Gen Hospital ako nagpapacheck-up, eh un package po sa OB ko, 30K, sa ward pa lang po un, normal delivery.  pag CS mas mahal pa.

eh sa totoo lang po gusto ko po makatipid kasi magpapabinyag pa tayo at madami pa kelangan gastusin like vaccines for the baby...

do you have an idea kun ok po sa Ospital ng Maynila in terms of un facilities? di naman po ako maselan hehe saka gipit kami ngaun ni hubby, baka mas lalong magipit pag malapit na manganak..

thanks mommies

=)

Hi Mommy FayeP!

Good luck to us! :) God bless!

Hi Mommy FayeP and Mommy margj_21.

Good luck po and God bless to both of u.. :)

I had relatives who were clerks at Ospital ng Maynila before and they used to share stories about childbirth sa mga patients nila. I understand the need para makatipid, and kesa mag-lying in ka, sa government hospital ka na lang para sure, kung magkaproblema, at least nasa hospital ka na. They said, never go to a lying in clinic if it will be your first time to give birth, kasi a lot of things could happen, and besides parang wala ka pang childbirth history (whether matagal ka manganak, may hypertension ka ba....allergies etc...), the doctors and the hospital are better equipped to treat you and your baby, if nasa hospital ka.

That being said, here are what you might need:
1. At least two reliable companion at the start. Kasi one, has to keep an eye on your things (while you are sleeping --- government hospital pa rin yan dear), and the other one, will be your runner ---- to buy stuff for you, because they will just list the medicines, the supplies (like cotton balls, alcohol...etc...).

2.  You need cash, because the doctors will bill their PF in cash. Different ata if you have Philhealth, they bill it together with the hospital.

3. Make sure that you brought your SSS and Philhealth documents with you, for reimbursement/deductions. You will need to sign forms for these.

5.  There is a payward ata for those who will give birth, kasi there are other departments there that are pay-ward, para di masyado madami kayo sa isang room....minimal charge lang naman, at least may peace of mind ka, and hindi halo-halo ang smell nyo.  Ask and confirm if meron, and how much ang rate, before you are admitted. Ask mo na din yung basic supplies that you should need to bring on delivery.

Goodluck. OM is a reputable and competent hospital. Yung facade lang ang pangit, and medyo di sanitary unlike other more expensive hospitals.

good luck mommy..

i know pag nagkaka-sepsis, they close the nursery... i still have OM among the top public hospitals in metro manila. facilities lang talaga ang medyo mag-aadjust ka...but competence and expertise of all health professionals? among the best!

ok yan sis. sa panahon ngayon di na uso ang makisabay sa uso. hehe. ako sa lying in lang nanganak, private na lying in naman sya, philhrealth accredited. but since I am young pa, di ako umabot sa philhealth so 4.5k ang binayaran ko pero pag may philhealth e 1.5k lang bayad dun. sa OM lang, yung pang clamp nila sa cord ni baby is sanitized na garter pero malinis naman yun. tapos yung hospital tag nila e tela na at pantali is parang sinulid so wag maxado mag expect nang masyadong bongga.

Hi all!

God bless to all of us!

Hi mommy! TIA!

hi! ang alam ko, ayos lang na sa center ka pa check up. kpag public hospitAl. basta pag manganganak ka dala mo yung record mo. or much better at least amonth b4 due date mo, ay pacheck ka dun sa governmnt hospital na balak mu panganakan, para kahit pano maging familiar ka sa place para in time of your delivery ay hindi na kayo mangapa, especially kung first time mo na pumunta sa hospital na yun. basta pag mag papa check up ka bring your record from the center, para may basis sila nung flow ng pregnancy mo so they will know how to handle your pregnancy. :)
