Please help me po.. Salamat sa inyong lahat..  :)

@ cherieherradura

sis san ka sa laguna? try nyo poh si dr joel lazaro may clinic siya sa calamba doctors and asian, he's very good, thorough ang assestment niya ang magaling din magexplain, may isang bata dun sa therapy center ng baby ko same case poh ng daughter niyo palagi ko kasi nakakausap lola nung kid since same sila ng sched ni baby, the kid is 5 years old and hindi pa din nagsasalita kahit mama or papa wala, he'll just point to objects if may gusto siya and if hindi daw naibigay yun iiyak na yung kid and maglulupasay, but ok receptive language niya he can follow commands, marunong din magsumbong but through gestures lang. Sabi ng lola niya natry na din daw nila ipasok ang apo niya before sa regular school but walang improvement, right now the kid is undergoing OT and Speech therapy. It's better if you set an appointment na with the dev ped matagal poh kasi waiting time....

@cherieherradura

it's 1500 poh, assessment is one hour or more depending on the case of the child, here's the number of dr lazaro's secretary at calamba doctors 049-545 2529 / 545 2527, better call them on wednesday because that's the only day they accept appointment calls, ang alam ko poh dr lazaro has his own therapy center but since malayo kami sa calamba hindi ko dun inenroll ang daughter ko, sa school ni baby OT and speech therapy costs 450/1 hr each

@cherieherradura

we went there just last may 31 my daughter was diagnosed with expressive language delay at age 1 year and 10 months old but sabi ni doc madali naman daw makaka catch up si baby kasi nga baby pa din naman siya and basta continue pa din therapy niya and he also recommend toddler class, super laki ng improvement niya overall in a span of 3 months of therapy we started last march and sabi din therapist ni baby by october baka pwede na din siya matransfer sa regular toddler class speech lang kasi talaga problem sa kanya, mas mabilis progress ng bata if my follow up sa bahay

@mommyjanice
his name poh is dr joel lazaro, i don't know poh if same din pf niya sa asian but I read somewhere sa GT forum it costs 2k plus ata, hindi ko din poh alam contact number niya sa asian better call na lang poh trunkline ng asian then patransfer na lang poh kayo sa secretary niya

16 months is still early to predict whether your son has a speech problem or not.. Try talking to him, show him charts or read with him. expose din him sa mga kids in your neighborhoud para madevelop din skills niya. my baby is 14 months to date at madami na syang alam, mama, papa, tita, wowo, wowa, baba, bas, dun pero indi naman kami nagmamadali sa development niya kase alam namin ni hubby darating din yun. kaya wag ka na ma-sad sis.. every child is unique kaya wag kang magalala makakapagsalita din anak mo at makukulitan ka na :)

I already posted this on another thread, same din with my baby before, at 16 months limited lang words niya and im pretty much worried so I took her to a developmental pediatrician when she's 18 months old, and sabi nga ng dr delayed nga daw so she was advised to have speech therapy for 3 months then balik ulit sa dr. After 3 months her speech improved a lot but still not that much conversational and I took her back to the dev pedia but this time sa iba ko siya pina assess.  She was 21 months old when she was diagnosed with expressive language delay but her receptive language (ability to understand) is advance for her age, pinaka advance siya sa area ng cognitive skills pang 3 years old na ang level niya. Same din dr advised her to continue with speech and enroll ko na din daw sa toddler class. He also mentioned na makaka catch up pa yung anak ko basta tuloy ko lang yung therapy and expose ko lang sa madaming bata and palagi ko lang kausapin. Now mas madami na siya nasasabi and ang dami na niyang alam and kayang i identify. I'm just happy na pinacheck ko siya kaagad sa dev ped. I'm more of a proactive mom. I don't want the lets wait and see approach. Baka kasi maghintay lang ako sa wala. I couldn't wait until may 3 yung daughter ko to see if makakapagsalita ba siya or hindi. It's just my opinion though because every child is unique but if you're really worried pacheck mo din sa developmental pediatrician. The dr can even give you tips on how to improve your child's speech.

my 2.2 yr old son, konti pa lang din nasasabi na words. siguro less than 20 pa lang. mama/papa/baby/wow/babye/hi/no/yehey/go.. pero he is very smart, imitator, at mahilig kumanta, hindi nga lang namin maintindihan ang song niya. he can express naman kung may gusto sya. the first time I saw him na may hawak syang pen, alam nyang kelangan ng papel na masulatan so naghanap din sya ng papel. lahat ng toys niya may code name bawat isa, pag may ipapakuha ako na toy niya banggitin ko lang yung name alam niya kung ano yun. alam din niya para saan ang mga susi, pupunta yun either sa may gate o kaya sa doors at kunyari bubuksan niya yung locks. nadidistinguish na rin niya kung ano at alin ang pambahay at pang-alis na damit. ang bilis din nyang makaramdam kung me aalis, mag-aabang na agad sa pinto at di na talaga aalis dun. nauutusan ko na sya like kuha yung vitamins niya sa ref. at water ko. pag ipinabalik ko alam din niya. pag may ipinahanap ako na hindi niya makita, sasabihin niya "wa" sabay open ng palm niya. nilatagan namin ng ibat-ibang remote, alam niya kung alin ang para sa aircon, para sa electric fan, tv, dvd, digibox.. Problem lang talaga yung speech pero hindi ko pinipressure sarili ko kasi ma-i-stress lang ako pag ganun, basta tinuturuan ko lang sya. frustrating nga lang talaga minsan pero nakakatawa rin like for example I teach him 123 ang kanya watusi. I teach him naman mga animal names in tagalog like aso, ang kanya "a---to" pusa, kanya pu --*a, dami ko tawa talaga.. lol. pero nag-alala ako baka makasanayan niya yung word na yun tas may makarinig na iba, not good to hear pa naman kaya never ko na inulit yun, instead cat na lang. Inases na rin sya ng pedia niya when he turned 2 year old, sabi niya ok naman daw son ko, yung pagsasalita lang talaga. at dahil daw lalaki, na common daw talaga sa pagsasalita ng late, she told me to wait until 3 years kung ganun pa rin sya na hindi pa rin nakakapagsalita saka na daw kami mag devped. wala naman daw prob yun dahil may kakilala daw sya na devped at sp, madali lang daw kami isingit sa sched.

Hi mommy alec. My daughter started talking before she turned 1. But simple words lang like mama, papa, mommy, daddy, and even our dogs name, honey. She'll be turning 2 this october and she can pretty much say anything that you ask her to say. She likes singing and she can already complete lines of nursery rhymes. The best thing that you can do is go to your pedia kasi sila mas nakakaalam ng deeper reason behind that. Ako kasi lagi ko tinitingnan yung mga info sa baby book niya like kung ano na yung dapat kayang gawin ni baby at a certain age. But you dont stress youself too much. Just continue talking to your baby and let her watch educational dvds para unti unti matutong makipag-interact.

Good luck mommy alec.

Joining  :)

My bunso is 1.8yrs old now. But now, im not alarmed coz everyday na nakakausap ko si baby, laging may mga word naman syang napipick-up from me/us. I agree with the sisses here na iba-iba ang developments ng mga bata... Tho di advisable na sa tv matuto... but  sa panunuod niya ng dora, nakakapick up sya ng mga words ;D but it really helps na laging kinakausap ang baby and its good na 3 ang kapatid niya  :D

hello po sa mga mommies jan..
I have the same issue din with my 16 mo old boy. puro babble lang din ang baby ko at wala talagang matinong word na nagmumula sa kanya.
Kinausap ko yung pedia niya about it at sabi niya its too early to say na may something wrong kay baby.
I sing to him kapag matutulog na siya o kaya maliligo o kapag naglalaro kami.
I am pregnant din pala ngayon kaya marami talagang laman ang utak ko but i really try hard to be as patient and calm lalo na kapag nagmamaktol na si baby....
Maybe mga mommies you can also share to me your parenting tips kasi wala naman akong mga kasama dito na pwedeng umalalay sakin. :(
