for Micah, her permanent teeth started to come out after she turned 7 (she was born prematurely).  we have been visiting a pediatric dentist regularly since she was 3 for cleaning.  unfortunately, she didn't have any loose tooth, so whenever i see a new tooth coming out, we immediately have the milk teeth pulled out.

she had cavities on her upper teeth before, and we had them all taken out (4 teeth at one time).  she wasn't bungi for so long because new teeth are coming out.

Hi Mommy,

Milk teeth have no roots, we'll they do have some but it gets resorb in common terms and is somewhat used up by growing permanent teeth behind it.

More important is the establishment of good dental hygene and regular visits.

If you are worried about your daughter's second teeth (Permanent), have a word with your dentist and ask advice in protecting her teeth before and after they arrive.

Experience will also say mommy na, as our babies/children grow older, they tend to munch in more, or eat also, the mill teeth can only withstand so much and basically natatagal din sila pero lesser pain kasi small weaker roots lang ang attachment nila. sumasakit ito pag na infect ng bacteria, or tartar build up which can also go deeper to the 2nd tooth at an early stage.

pag gumagalaw pwede na tanggalin. kung kaya or visit a dentist.

the 2nd eruption for permanent teeth is what you need to watch out for, nag momove ang ngipin either they grow mis aligned. or sungki sungki or they teeth movement after milk teeth has been removed can block the spaces for 2nd teeth to grow.

I hope this helps = )

Regards,
Dr. Pam

Mag start mag fall out ang milk teeth at the age of 6 or 7yo.

I've collected 17 tooth pero yun 2 front teeth niya nawala.

thanks for the reply-- very helpful info

at 6yr old pa pala eto kusa natatanggal--

i didnt know wala pa palang roots and milk teeth--

-we havent visited the dentist yet, i dunno parang ayoko lang. di ba matrautrauma ang bata sa ganon?

- i noticed , sometimes nangingitim yung teeth ng anak ko- specially the front teeth...
does it mean anything?-- kusa rin kc eto natanggal after few months-- yeah it last lasted that long-- kahit anong brush kc, hindi eto natanggal  untill one day ok na uli yung kulay ng teeth niya

:(  i don't think kelangan mabulok ang teeth before tanggalin, imagine kung gaano katagal yun!

Is it too late to take care of baby's teeth?
« Reply #24 on: August 03, 2012, 04:50:41 pm »

I really regretted too much of changing her milk too late which makes her teeth decay, I dont want to mention the name of this milk na nkasira talaga sa milk niya too much sugar kasi, then hiyang kasi yung health niya don and I am afraid to change her milk baka  magkasakit or pumayat sya. She is still 1 year and 9 months, di pa lahat ng teeth nkalabas, only 12 pero halos lahat na nasira, napudpod nah. My baby's behavior is hard to manage kasi ayaw niya magpaclean nang teeth niya, di talagah napipilit, very strong willed. I encourage her to brush her teeth, infront of her I brush my teeth and asked her to do the same, pero bata pa kasi di masyado naclean ng todo parang laro laro lang so hindi na clean thoroughly. I tried to brush her teeth during sleeping pero she will notice it kasi, nako kahit dapo lang ng lamok na mararamdaman niya hehe. I am currently using NIDO 1-3, anong experience nyo sa milk na to, sana hindi nkakasira to sa teeth niya, I taste it and its less sugar. Disciplinado naman ako sa pagpakain sa kanya..no chocolate or candy pero grabeh pudpod na ang teeth niya talagh, di kaya eto dahil she still bottle feed during the night and even in the middle of the night? please advise...

What do u mean by pudpod? You better consult a pedia dentist to help you. Be prepared lang to invest in your child's teeth..

sis  momzloue83: I don't think it's too late to take care of your baby's teeth, dahil ang alam ko milk teeth pa rin naman yan so it would be replaced pa. But tama, best to consult a pedia dentist to know how to best work on your current situation.

My daughter's milk is Lactum, and is admittedly sweeter than other brands, pero dun sya nahiyang talaga e. We tried other brands before, waley, either ayaw niya inumin, naconstipate sya, or hindi sya nahelp mag-gain ng weight. She's been drinking Lactum ever since she was a little more than a year old. So far so good naman.

As for brushing her teeth when she was your kid's age, super effort din! Away kami talaga! :D Pero when I bought her yung Firefly na toothbrush, yung umiilaw and all, aliw na aliw, gusto naman toothbrush ng toothbrush. She didn't eat junk foods or candies that much din. I think I heard before na nagiging cause nga din daw ng tooth decay pag ganun.

She still bottle feeds now (arrgh, dito ko nahihirapan ilayo sya), pero in all fairness buo pa din lahat ng teeth niya, no signs of tooth decay pa rin naman.

sis my baby is also using the same milk since she turns 9mos old- although ours is a mixture of Promil 1.6kg and Nido 1.6kg  , originally promil kami peru kc so mahal =)

wala me probs sa teeth ng baby ko, super nice and clean..shes now turning 4yrs old this october and ganda ng milkteeth niya

i would remind her don sa commercial that kids needs to brush there teeth 3x a day-

i let my baby girl brush her teeth, sansflo gel gamit namin, ayaw niya ibang toothpaste, siguro dahil matapang yung lasa

My daughter's milk is Pedisure. Wala sa milk yan nasa caring natin yan at tsaka dapat pagkatapos mag milk, water agad.

Pag hindi mo kaya linisin teeth niya pag gising, gawin mo pag tulog siya.  Use lampin or towel or buds.

Ako ang problema ko sa daughter ko nagka tartar niya at ayaw mag pa dentist so what I did, bumili ako ng ginagamit ng dentist pang cleaning.  Pagtulog siya dun ko nililinis teeth niya. So far, she's 4 yo at complete pa ang teeth niya.

Sis ingatan mo teeth ng anak mo kasi 7-8 years old pa sila tutubuan ng ngipin baka lokohin siya sa school na bungi...wawa naman.

i agree with other moms here, its not about the milk it is about how we tell our children or show them the importance of brushing or taking care of their teeth..

my son is also a Lactum milk user, pero hindi ako nahirapan na i-brush ang teeth niya.. actually, hindi ko nga nagawa sa kanay nung infant siya yung clean cloth na pupunasan yung gums/dila niya.. i starterd brushing his teeth when he was 10 or turning 1 yr old na.. yung finger bruch ba yun then i put sansflou (just about a peasize lang), then brush his growing teeth.. from then on until now, he likes brushing na.. natuto na din niya i-spit yung water (mumog) kaya wala ako problem sa teeth niya.. yung stain naman kasi, i think normal yun (tama ba?!).. hindi pa kami nakavisit sa pedia dentist maybe this coming months para lang mabigay ko yung idea na dentist should not be avoided at hindi dapat katakutan..
