Not neccessarily po branded and mahal. Ako kasi way back in 2007 bumili ko branded electric sterilizer for my first born. Inabot ako almost 4k for the avent sterilizer. We used it for about a year lang then i switched back to a regularaluminum type sterilizer.

My husband and I opted for electric sterilizer. I wanted Avent IQ kaso mahal talaga. Not practical for me. Sobrang makakalimutin kasi ako so sayang naman if we invested a lot sa pricey feeding bottles tas natutunaw lang. hihi I can't trust myself kasi. LOL We chose Farlin over Chicco kasi mas spacious sya and mas madaling linisan. Also, we got it at around P1,600 kasi naka sale. ;D And sya nga pala, PP na yung cover ng sterilizer nila now. Yung amin kasi polycarbonate parin yung cover. So not BPA free.. :-X

i'm happy with my 5-in-1 Looney Tunes sterilizer. kala ko hindi ko magagamit kasi exclusive breastfeeding ako pero now i use it to sterilize my breast pump and storage bottles. very convenient din sya gamitin to heat chilled breastmilk.  ;)

My son is using Avent bottles but we have Farlin electric sterilizer. 1yr 4mths na naming ginagamit yung sterilizer and so far di pa naman nasisira.

my mom gave me a bebeta electric steam sterilizer as a gift, mura lang sya 1.4k i think, steam sterilizer, haven't tried it though. sterilizes 6 wideneck bottles in 8 minutes daw. so di muna ako bibili ng avent iq24 kapag nasira to at di matibay (may warranty naman daw for 1 year) dun nalang ako bibili.  :) sinong may feedback sa sterilizer na to? sabi sa box its BPA free.

Wish i could buy that 5-in-1 sterilizer ng looney tunes this month.

depende sa budget if keri ng budget niyo ang branded electric sterilizer why not. pero kung di naman ok lang kahit hindi branded. magaganda naman ang quality ng mga affordable electric sterilizers. i think the most affordable electric sterilizers are Chicco and Farlin both of them costs 1999.75php pero they have really good quality. as for me,since im exclusively BFing my 3 months old son and SAHM ako i don't use feeding bottles that much kaya hindi rin ako masyado nagiesterilize. btw,i just have yung stove top sterilizer since pang back-up lang in case i need to do errands and matatagalan ako i left expressed BM to be fed to my son. when i go back to school na saka na ako bibili ng electric sterilizer and i'll just buy Chicco since di pa afford ang Avent IQ24 hehe :)

Re: Bottle Sterilizer, will it be worth the money?
« Reply #194 on: January 06, 2011, 03:14:21 pm »

if you invest for an expensive bottles (like avent), it is better to have a strilizer and mas maganda if may drier na kasama. convinient din kasi,  ready to use na ang mga bote and in fairness maganda pa rin ang itsura ng mga ito compare sa mga bottles na pinakuluan sa kaserola.
