My baby was purely drinking breast milk for 6 months. I wanted to give im breast milk till 1 sana kaso when he turned 4 months, he was awaka every hour na, mas grabe pa kesa nung newborn siya na every 2 hrs gising. Big tummy na kasi kaya bilis nadadigest ng milk, kaya laging gutom agad kahit marami na siyang iniinom. Ang effect, I lost weight ng bonggang-bongga that my family and pedia advised me to stop na dahil hindi ko na kaya. Ngayon naman, sabi ng parents ko, mukhang maagang magsasawa sa milk baby ko kasi hindi na siya mahilig sa milk, gusto na niya puro kain, at 11 months.

my daughter is now 18 mos. and breastfed pa rin sya.. I don't think she'll wean any time soon although I think yung pagdede niya is now more out of seeking comfort..kasi pag umaalis ako di sya naghahanap ng milk and hindi naman umiinit ulo niya..kahit expressed milk ayaw niya..this had me thinking din na it may not be about the milk but more on the nipple kasi ayaw niya talaga expressed or formula pag sa bottle..so yesterday, I had her drink formula sa cup na me straw (since sanay na sya uminom ng water from baso or cup din na me straw).. success!! 

anyway, dun sa pagtaas ng kilay, meron din ako experience..ang masakit pa dun, sarili kong nanay pa..everytime makita niya kami ni baby in our session, she'd comment na ang laki laki na raw di pa patigilin sa pagdede..hay naku..deadma na lang..although minsan syempre nakakasama ng loob..pero basta, sabi ko hanggat kaya ko, hanggat meron, go pa rin..

i exclusively pumped milk for my little oink for 7 whole months after that mixed and then pure formula. i know its just a short time but mommy has to take care of herself too and i am happy i exhausted all the means to provide him breastmilk exclusively.

@ mommy littleBigmiss  - i can completely relate. i spoke to my mother and told her na i will wean my son off my breast only if he thinks he's ready. sabi ko ayoko na kakantyawan nila yung anak ko at sabihin na anlaki laki na eh dumedede pa.  imagine kakasabi ko lang kinantyawan agad!!! hayyyy. kulit. pero i talked to her again.  i want everyone to respect whatever it is that i decide for my son.

Havent been there yet as my baby is only 8months pero ive read other mommies here na iba nga more than 2years eh.
My mom she breastfed my youngest sister up to 4years old. Ayy meron palang halong formula na siya after 1yr niya but still
basically breastfed... she's soo smart for her age lols.. =) Ako naman plan ko switch gradually to a normal milk
after mag 1 si baby...hopefully that plan works.. =) Mommy needs to go back to work na eh pag 1 si baby.

i've been breastfeeding my baby for 28 months already and okay naman ang weight niya.  weight gain usually slows down after 1 year sine mas ative na yung kids. at this age din, ideally, supplement na lang talaga ang milk kasi most of the nutrition should already be coming from solids.

my baby is not taking in formula milk, but she does drink fresh milk from a cup/glass and yogurt drinks.

Purple_girl, how is your child's weight on the growth chart? Did it start to drop ba? Or did it stay on track?

Un kasi concern ko, i understand weight gain is slow since toddlers are more active.. But yung pagdrop sa growth chart ang worry ko.

okay naman yung weight gain niya. there are months na constant yung weight niya or halos walang weight gain, but never naman nag drop kahit na may sakit siya.

from the weight chart, lagi namang within normal range siya.

plan ko na din stop ang breasfeeding..masakit na talaga ngayon may four teeth na siya..tumatama yung upper teeth niya sa nipple.. gusto ng mom ko after na niya mag 1 year old..

my younger bro. is n0w 8years old. 9 this comming june would u b'liv mommies that he stop breastfeeding when she was 7yrs.old he don't care sa kantyaw ng mga kalaro niya and my mother also kahit nasan pa sila ni bunso go lang ng go pero till now c bunso palagi pa rin pumipisil sa nipple ni mama!
